I've realised why I'm so difficult to hypnotise. I don't get emotionally invested in this process. I can't imagine being invested in the process. I certainly don't find this amusing or entertaining either. bleh!
Also, now that I have such a thorough explanation of what is expected, I can simply choose to comply and pretend that hypnosis is real. I'm not sure I can be affected by this process now. He's spoiled it! He says things like: don't come up of you want to challenge me, but if you want this experience. So the experience is simply playing along while emotionally invested? Its like the magician explaining the trick before he does it!
To Morgan Blundell; Hypnosis can not happen without the cooperation of the subject. The hypnotist and the subject enter into a psycho dynamic relationship. They both cooperate with each other to create a trance state. The hypnotist helps guide the subject into a trance, but it is ultimately the subject's responsibility to go into trance. So if there are people out there who want to prove that they can not be hypnotized, please stay seated. The hypnotist doesn't want to waste a good chair on stage for someone who is going to resist him.
