I think it's because of the crunch. The most likely other place you'll hear that crunch is when you're eating, so we associate it with food. That's why your mouth starts watering. It's literally a Pavlovian response

I’m not sure where but I’m on the spectrum of autism very high functioning just when a minor inconvenience hits I loose it. My husband put this on and I swear this helped so much and calmed me down. Thank you.
