How are VPs usually selected? Are they typically a person running in the same party but got less votes?
@@Salikinothere are many ways to go about it, from what I understand. It doesn’t necessarily have to be someone who is running against you in the same cycle, but many times it is. I think it’s also a strategic choice about which votes the VP would bring to the ballot.

@@SalikinoTo be honest, I don’t know if the VP has the same potential issues with nationalized citizenship vs. born in the country… something I guess I need to look up 😂 Cenk argues that the constitution guarantees naturalized citizens the same rights as anyone else, therefore enabling him to run. He successfully got on the ballot in Maine, making it historical precedent. So if that’s possible, I kind of doubt being VP would be an insurmountable issue.

The Democratic Party has lost many elections by exclusively running unpopular candidates (Clinton, McCauliffe for example) put forth by 'executive committees' that ignore the voices of voters.
