Bridge over troubled waters is not a gospel song it's non Christian was written by Paul Simon the song is about human friendship and being a true friend to somebody through thick and thin no mention of Jesus's or god the father anywhere in the lyric

I'm not a religious man by any definition of the term, but David is and continues to be one of my favorite male vocalists today. Exquisite talent transcends my lack of religious faith.

Interesting that you think that as this is not as such a gospel song was originally written by paul Simon and performed by Simon and garthunkul during the flower power era this song was more about true friendship and being there for someone no matter what they were going through
This song is from my era-my generation, and from what I understand Simon’s inspiration in writing this song was listening to the southern gospel group Swan Silvertones’ 1959 song “Oh Mary Don’t You Weep.” The line that impacted him the most: “I’ll be your bridge over deep water/If you trust in my name.” This line helped him finish “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” In an interview, he said that he just couldn’t get that song out of his head-so much so-that it must have subconsciously influenced him, and he started to go to gospel chord changes. It’s definitely spiritual, and I love David’s brilliant take on it.
one of my favourite Simon and Garfunkel songs of all time and love the vocal range in the song.

This song was originally written as a gospel-style song. Paul Simon was inspired by the Swan Silvertones, and the third verse that suggests more of a love song was only added later. It is believed another inspiration for this song is the medieval bridge in the village I grew up in - Bickleigh in Devon, UK.

This individual heard this song sung by David, and she thought it was great, so she posted that. You then decided to respond by saying you just thought it was good, not great, and then you decided to add who you thought did it better. Basically, you told her she was wrong for saying it was great, and then you told her that your opinion is better because you feel someone else had a superior performance. She loved THIS performance.
