Lyrics:
Dear God,
Adjust my dreams for me.
All I learned is instant history.
Is this how,
The surface will break?
Releasing the pressure,
The horrors that await.
Hell hath no fury like a human born.
Its only real if you can’t replace it,
And now I’m losing all control.
Why do I fear it?
This is the sound that we make.
Can you hear it?
This is the sound that we make.
Can you hear it?
I love the sound when it breaks.
Can you hear it?
This is the sound that we make.
Can you hear it?
Dear God,
We’re shouting in the streets,
‘Cause all our love is instant history.
We could go,
To any time or place.
But the history’s a nightmare,
I’m sure we’ll awake.
I got a fever in my bones.
Gets me so high that I can taste it.
And now I’m losing all control.
Why do I fear it?
This is the sound that we make.
Can you hear it?
This is the sound that we make.
Can you hear it?
I love the sound when it breaks.
Can you hear it?
This is the sound that we make.
Can you hear it?
We only exist in the noise that we bring,
And we can’t unlearn what we learned.
We try to position our lives on a string,
And we can’t unhear what we heard.

This would be so good as their opener on the next tour. Just imagine, stage and arena goes dark, crowd cheers then goes silent....."Dear god..." man that would be good
Imagine the drop, the first 'this is the sound that we make . . . ' going off live!!
"...hell hath no fury like a Human born..." #Imperious!
I believe this song would fit perfectly as the last song to finish there live set with all the fire works and all them colourful things falling from the ceilings it would be a banger💯🇵🇱
Ah, yes. Imagine opaque drapes in front of the stage with lights behind during the intro, and at "this is the sound that we make", the drapes drop. It's been done before, but it's still cool.
As a longtime fan, it usually takes their poppier stuff a while to catch on for me. But I fell in love with this song instantly. Haters are gonna hate, you do you Biffy!
NOICE
I'm not a long time fan, though close to ten years now. I feel the same. I like the old Muse, the first 3-4 albums. The more electronica they used in their songs, the less I liked them. But somehow Biffy Clyro manages to still sound exciting even through this type of song. I'm not anti electronic/digital things in music, it's just that it's so easy for a band to lose every feel of human touch. I explain that to myself in that I prefer the band sounding more raw and organic, than mechanical.
Rock, Pop, Alternative... it's not important. This is another amazing Biffy song. That's what matters! Thank you guys!
Average song, no matter what genre it is :D Balance, Not Symmetry had better pop tracks than this and Different Kind of Love was one of my favorite songs last year
THIS! No such thing as guilty pleasures. Only pleasures.
Love how the verses follow a 90s style synth with a fast pop beat and then the chorus drops and it's back to 2020 again. Amazing contrast!
This song has made me realise nothing has changed, I'm still a massive fan of biffy clyro and their music.
biffy fuckin' clyro, ALWAYS 😍
biffy fuckin' clyro, ALWAYS 😍
@@Nikolaus1991 That good it came up twice. Mon the Biffy. \m/

This song is a massive ear worm. It follows me all day and night
My brain refuses to see anything but "Cliffy Byro". I've learned to accept it.
HUGE! Good to hear Ben and James do some lead vocals too. 💙💙💙
I wish these guys were more well known here in the states, so they would tour here more, and I could see them live, I think they’re awesome!
I live in Scotland, and they started in an area not to far from where I live.
Sarge Productions that’s how I found out about them, I have an online friend from their hometown. We play an online game together and he mentioned them one day, I then started checking them out and downloading their music, I still can’t figure out why more Americans haven’t caught on to their music.
@@rodkeenan329 their live shows are pure orgasm - its worth to make a trip to europe :)
Saw them in Philly, a kick ass show man
The flip-side is though we don't have to see them in arenas. Saw them a couple of years back in Toronto and the place only holds 750. So much fun
Hard for European bands to make money touring here as everything is so spread out . The bus and visa costs would add up fast. My all time fav British band said they just can't tour here anymore for those reasons.
Plus our market gets saturated with so many US bands doing package tours .
today and stronger than ever, MON THE BIFF!
1) the song is slightly pop which makes it perfect for a fifa soundtrack or a radio edit
2) live will be so much harder and overwhelming I can already imagine it
3) can't stop listening
4) the video is quite cool too
5) they said that this song is the most pop one, so stop complaining and this is the sound that they make
It's a official song for the 2020 F1 season I heard
@@pascalsiegl8010 That was all but cancelled?
It's 4.am and I was drifting away to sleep as I prayed and this song started to play. I can't explain to you how powerful that feeling that hit me from hearing this was.
This song used for the follow up conversations after the AFL team "Hawthorn" won their semi final match tonight... brilliant!!!
every second that pass I like this even more
How can a band be good at every genre they dabble with. No doubt the album will have a vast number of cracking sounds. MON. THE. BIFF.
This is the first song That I ever heard by This band I hope I’ll check out more of their albums and listen to them more But this is the first album I listen too And I will say it’s a very good album.
Every album is a masterpeace! Its amazing
@M J It certainly is a journey
You might like Twin Atlantic too if you like this.
Discovering Biffy is like a rebirth. I was reborn 13 years ago.
20 years a fan. Never let me down. Very few bands do that.,Forever ‘mon the biff’
One of the hardest working bands. Mon the Biffy always.
This song made me stand and take notice of Biffy, know I'm a fan .
THIS IS THE SOUND THAT WE MAKE
Can you hear it?
Well ye, it is now that they’ve lost all originality
THIS IS THE SOUND THAT WE MAKE!!!!
@Phoebe Buckner Try the title track from Balance not Symmetry
I LOVE THE SOUND WHEN IT BREAKS
I love their music. One of the best bands i have ever heard. This song is brilliant
Biffy Clyro - One Love!
WELCOME BACK #BIFFYFUCKINCLYRO
LOVE IT!
I missed you so much!
A proud US fan, here!
is this like older biffy clyro? no. is it still an absolute banger? absolutely yes. does it matter that a band is trying a new sound? no. it’s completely normal for that to happen and i really love this
Absolutely true, it's a badass pop song to me
Matteo Laffranchini i agree, it’s genuinely an amazing song
What's "new" about it? You could swap out Simon for Rihanna here and it wouldn't sound out-of-place. They've seemingly lost any imagination.
I won't lie when I say I miss their older, more aggressive sound but I do love the evolution to more electronic sounds and I still absolutely love this song. Can't wait to see what they pull off here, because this gives me some Opposites vibes and I absolutely love that album.
When radio played this song I thought that was a Sam Fender. Good vibes Biffy's made ;)
Instant history..... instant classic mon the biff
Thank you LEC for bringing me here!
I just got an ad for this and holy shit my eyes almost got blinded by the flashing light
Best song ever 🙌. Here this is yours 👑🏆
Ahhhh Simon I love you! ❤😍 And Italy waits for you all 🎸⚡
I Love the Sound when it breaks
“The biggest, boldest pop song we have on this record.” That’s what Simon called this song in the BBC 1 Interview.
I’m glad they’re taking risks and trying new sounds. I’m also glad that the whole album won’t sound like this 😂
You and me both!
Glozboy22 I have to say, though. It’s growing on me. It could use more bite and Biffy weirdness... but the catchiness is hard to deny.
Agree, this is a little too Imagine Dragons-y...but still better
Taking risks lol
D Massey Yes, taking risks. This is a very new direction for Biffy. And perhaps ironically, adopting a more “pop” sound is a big risk for a rock band with an established, passionate fan base.
That they took a risk doesn’t necessarily mean the result is a success. But there are too many bands that play it safe after finding a successful formula, and as a result they cease to grow and evolve. I think Biffy deserves credit for not being one of those bands.
The ultimate quarantine tune right now! Smashed it boys!
Such a trash song ngl

Awesome...THIS IS THE SOUND THAT WE MAKE....🏴🏴...🎼🎵🎶🎵🎤🎸🎹🥁👍
I absolutely love this song!! It’s not often nowadays that I’m blown away on the first listen 🔥 i love poppy sound too, not too much for my taste
A poetic super song, a true work of art!
THISISTHESOUNDTHATWEMAKE!!!!😝🤘 stay doing your thinh
WOW! I didn't even realize they were still together! So happy this came across my suggested!
That sound matches the sound of my soul strings. Biffy f**kin' Clyro i love you.
Soon as the drums kick in my feet are tapping, absolutely love this, different, an instant Biffy classic 💕
Biffy Clyro IS BACK!!! The best news of 2020 so far!!!
And I love it
Definitely in the genre of Biffy’s “pop” songs. Not a bad song by any means...but hoping the album has some rock n roll on it!!
Same here they have great potential but they keep going soft..
I want them to go back to previous album, to go back to their roots playing hard Rock! They can do so much more than this.. This is just a warm up
Same. I liked the Ellipsis record but damn, I deeply miss songs like "That Golden Rule", "Woo Woo", "Living Is A Problem" or "A Whole Child Ago".
MrSamyroquai 27
I imagine this song is going to be primarily guitar driven when played live. I’m sure the synth parts will still be present, but it’s gonna sound like heavy Biffy.
Mate have you guys listened to Tiny Indoor Fireworks? Its absolutely amazing!
Absolutely epic. Wow. I bow down....
A very chvrches vibe for me. They evolve and change every album. I have no doubt the album will be another masterpiece
Coach Sean I literally just said that to myself, too. 😃
I can’t stop lessening to this song. ROCK 94.5 Spokane’s Best Rock! Oh your going far! Nice one!
The beginning reminded me of 'The Ring' MON THE BIFF!!! 🤘 X
Glorious 👍
Sounds like a great album. Roll on August for its release.
I had the most goosebumps iv ever had listening to a song!!??.... Love it!!!! I heard on radio and had to find out who it was!!
I think it resonated with me and hopefully all of us.... at the perfect time, instant history... it's in the making now...2020 we won't forget this.. Ever❤️🌍🙏
Ben Johnston's head and facial hair has now become the exact inverse of what it was in the Questions and Answers music video.
Lmao so true
Wow. Epic sound of a new Decade
This is ridiculous. So good. I can't believe how good this is.
Best song from these guys.
I love this sound that they make
Goosebumps
Love it. Love it. Hope to see them live in 2020. ❤️
Pop song... of course! And now let's waiting for the album!
Can’t wait to hear this live Biffy never disappoint
Never heard this song till a few days ago on the radio. I'm fully hooked!
This is almost TOO GOOD.
I love this
Loving the new track
Dear God. This is the sound that we make. Break that FEAR.
Great stuff... I've enjoyed listening to them change over the years.... but if this was their sound back in the days of Blackened Sky I'm pretty sure I would never have got into them. Not weird enough! haha
How did you cope with straightforward songs like Justboy back in the day? 😬
@@inkwisitive Like I said, I think this new track is great, and I don't doubt that the new album will have variety and weird bits and pieces too.
Justboy and a track like Christopher's River were great to have in amongst an album of mostly unusual tracks. These days the ratio has flipped the other way, so it would be harder for someone on the look out for slightly unusual rock to be drawn in by Biffy's current output.
EDIT: I mean, this isn't even rock for a start. ha
In summary. It's all good once you're onboard!
aljanat5
And then everyone clapped
Bifffyyy!!🙌🙌🙌
Well you certainly have my interest. Intrigued to see what the full album brings
Yes!
I’ve listened to this song like 20 times in the last 5 hours well done lads

I'm so in love with this Song..... Mon the biff.... 👏🏻👌🏻
These get better and better. I love their voices. I never get sick listening to Biffy Clyro.
I have to admit that, at first, i was kinda meh but.... was and is still growing on me. Can't wait for their new stuff and upcoming gigs!!
Never been the biggest biffy fan, but thos is class.
Ahhhh god Simon is like so cute in this video like look at him having a lil seizure ❤️❤️ 😂😂 I love him. Really excited for the album
Biffy Clyro (in my opinion) is like a good wine...it gets better over the years :-) :-) :-)
Great song and great vocals.
Hope they tour soon.
They MAKE THE SOUND that WE listen to. Love you Biff.
A song for humanity at this time 💖
At first, this song didn't do much for me. However, after many listens I officially dig it!
I consider this song as an anthem!!! For me, for my generation. Thank you, BC!
AAAAAAHHHHHHHH SOOOO GOOD! i love that we can never guess what kind of music you’re gonna do next, always chopping and changing but ALWAYS yourselves. this is BEAUTIFUL MADNESS.
MON THE BIFF!
Love these guys 💕💕💕
I clicked the second I got the notification, been waiting for new music from these guys in so long, this is going to be in heavy rotation for me over the next few days
Damn I see you everywhere 😂
Okay clicked
I love this song.. been a big Biffy Clyro fan since I lived in London back in 2005. Great Lyrics and great hook and drop. Mon the Biff!
First Green Day, then Enter Shikari, and now Biffy... I'm now a happy man!! 😁
I heard this song for the first time while eating my last breakfast with my romantic partners at our hotel. I never heard of Biffy before, but I fell in love with this song. It reminds me of them both everytime I hear it. I was only in Wales/UK for a short period of time in order to spend time with them, and now I have the perfect song to remember them while I'm away.
Fan since 2007. This might be a new low. Good luck boys.
@wulfgar3000 I've seen them live about 15 times since 2007, have met the band backstage, and have the full vinyl collection up to Opposites era.
Their new stuff is soulless sell out pop trash, and everyone knows it.
This is like a 90s music video... and the song is so damn good
HOLY S**T IT'S AWESOME!!! WHY I ALWAYS LOVE YOUR SONGS!!?
@AdmiralOddSock and how I should write it? I'm from chile haha
I was a sceptic of this song when I first heard it, but this song bangs. When this is live it will have the same punch you in the face sound that makes me go back to biffs concerts!
I can imagine how this song sounds live with heavy guitar
awesome!
I just love watching him
This song literally reminds me of my commute to college every morning, purely because radio 1 play it every day at the exact same time.
What a surprise, boys! Really looking forward to the LIVE version now! 😎
