    Some good tips there, will try it later. 5th fret to 10th, i cant do that with both hands. Nice to see a Pacifica in use by a teacher instead of a 3k Gibson or PRS.

    Thanks! Back and forth 55 years of sales, then jackhammer picks and shovels. Along with martial arts. At 25 my doctor told me if I break my hands anymore I'd be wearing a specially made leather wrap for them. Arthritis too. I converted the centimeters to inches and the same spread. I appreciate someone who knows.
    I'm 70 now and in my 2nd year of learning this fascinating instrument. Cheers.

    Hey up!.. Not long stumbled upon your channel.. 3rd's I think!.. Anyway .. I play Acoustic (Learner @ 60yrs old being playing for circa 3 yrs)..
    I don't use a pick (yet).. So I find it easy to use "Pinch" method.. using Thumb E, Index A string & Middle for D String..
    And I just "Rock my Middle (fretting hand) to Catch the D String rather than using Ring finger...
    May help others :)
    Cheers from N E Lincs

    Hi Ricky, I have a tough time with the B7 barre chord in the key of E.....Some tutors just tell you to bounce up and down on the B and F# notes and don't use the pinky, but it just doesn't sound the same if you are using the pinky for E and the A in the 12 bar blues...any ideas

    • @rickysguitar
      @rickysguitar 2 года назад

      Which version?
      A shaped x24242 or E shaped 797877?

    • @nodgelyobo1
      @nodgelyobo1 2 года назад

      @@rickysguitar Yea the first one...the open E, then drop down to the A then the B7 as the 5 chord....I mean I could just play the B7 open acoustically to add a bit of flavour....but I want the whole shuffle to be in the 12 bar blues style, which means my pinky has to reach the 6th fret on the D string..which I aint finding easy..

    • @rickysguitar
      @rickysguitar 2 года назад

      @@nodgelyobo1 Because that B7 is the Dominant it's always cool to play it as a 9th
      x2122x however for the shuffle using the method in the video you could keep it all on the E and A strings. For the B7 you have 3 moves.
      79xxxx twice (fingers 2 and 4)
      7x6xxx twice (fingers 2 and 1)
      7x7xxx twice (fingers 2 and 3)
      Let me know if that helps!

    • @nodgelyobo1
      @nodgelyobo1 2 года назад +1

      Hey Ricky, thanks for taking time out to answer.....I'll definitely try your suggestions in the morning...But I am really glad you reckon I should use the x2122x shape...It does sound as if it's going somewhere when you come out of the E7 and hit that shape...And it's an acoustic I use so I try and keep power chords to a minimum...as I love that old bluesy Muddy Waters type sound....Again cheers man...

    • @nodgelyobo1
      @nodgelyobo1 2 года назад

      @@rickysguitar Yea, those are interesting chords, I'll have to learn more about these 9ths, they seem easy enough to handle....At the moment I'm trying to learn the keyboard by memorizing the E pentatonic/blues scale in the 5 positions...And of course using the Battle Ends And Down Go's.....etc....which is a great tool....what scales would you recommend for just playing the blues? I was thinking learning the A pentatonic/blues next....Loving the shortcuts you are showing on your page, you've got me looking at the guitar in a totally different way, which is great...
