Nice work and I agree with cleaning up and taking the firewood where you can. Good point when you said you didn’t notice the helmet when wearing it, so it’s a win. Must be pretty comfortable.

I'm with you on not wanting to leave a big gom of a mess. I'm working on a 50 acre plot. When I have nice wood i'm thinning with a goal of forest health. When I'm in scraggly stuff i'm opening it up for grass growth for livestock. Like you a lot of it was timbered before into farmland or just to pull logs.
I ended up getting a chipper. Anything thats big enough to split into pretty firewood is subject to becoming revenue, the medium stuff is destined for boiler wood, and i'm chipping anything chippy will eat. It does take some time, but letting the piles sit for 6 months or better and then distributing them out is helping with the topsoil situation especially in the grass patches.

Had beech in the woods on the farm where I grew up, awesome firewood made a beautiful coal bed in the stove much like hard maple. 👍

I'm wanting to learn how to cut trees the way you do. I've been cutting trees for firewood for many years, but have recently been milling the logs for lumber. Thank you for your excellent video. One question, would you recommend your Green Devil helmet now that you have been wearing it for a while? I'm going to replace my old one soon.

Is there a market for beech? I know its popular in Europe. The beach here are all badly blighted , your beech actually looks nice.

Sort of, they are pretty particular looking for plus 10inch dia at least 16.6 ft sections and STRAIGHT & Clean. The mill here buys them if they are nice for Excavator/big equipment "matts" to go across muddy or swampy area's. Other than those guys, no there is no money in beech :( Great for firewood though
