Aimee, I cannot thank you enough, or say enough about your beautiful talent! Yes, Carole King is phenomenal and I’ve always really admired her music and songwriting, and I love what you have done here for millions of viewers who might not know about her. BUT... this video is as much a testament to you and your musical intuition as it is to hers! I absolutely Love the tone of your voice, your incredible ability at the piano keyboard, and your sweet sensitivity towards the music and the composer!! Your knowledge and FEEL of music theory is simply amazing. I’m a professional musician and composer as well, but I have to say, you are incredibly talented, and a true gift to everyone who knows you! Thanks!!

I actually have thought about the lyric for "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", specifically how differently the lyric hits me in The Shirelles' version compared to Carole's version from 'Tapestry'. I always thought in The Shirelles' version, the lyric sounded cute and innocent like a young teenager with a crush. And the "tonight" in "Tonight you're mine" really just meant "now" or "presently". And the "tomorrow" in "will you love me tomorrow" was vaguely sometime in the future. So, it was just a young girl wondering if love would last.
But in Carole's version, with her stripped down solo vocals, "tonight" suddenly becomes literally "right now, this night" and "tomorrow" meaning when you wake up in the morning. And I can picture a woman in bed next to her man. It's heart wrenching.
It's fascinating to me how the same lyric can have such a different emotional impact.

If you think about it that way, it's almost as sad as Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me". Interesting that both songs were written by men (just the lyrics in the case of "Will You Love Me Tomorrow").

Thank you Aimee - I enjoyed this so much! Tapestry was the first album I ever bought with my own money, and the reason I asked my mom to take piano lessons when I was 14 or so (just about 50 years ago). Since then, I've bought all her albums and sheet music books, and many years later, finally got to see her perform - with James Taylor no less - what a magical evening! Picked up the guitar in my mid thirties, and now write my own songs, and continue to be inspired by her brilliance.

This brings back so many memories of my childhood hearing all these Billboard 100 tunes on the radio. I clearly remember a day in the ninth grade when there was a cover band playing "I Feel the Earth Move" and thinking, that's what I want to do, play cool tunes like that. Thanks Aimee.

I remember when I was a kid I liked the song "Pleasant Valley Sunday" by the Monkees so MUCH! I didn't know Carole King wrote it! Thanks.

Whenever I go to where my brother lives w/his family ,I sing my own version of "Pleasant Valley Sunday" to myself bcuz his house is in a suburb that is literally like that song ( with apologies to the great Carole King & Gerry Goffin here goes: 🎶 "Another Si-mi Vall-ey Sunday, brush fires burning everywhere, there's no Starbuck's downnn the street ,but no one seems to care"🎶)

On top of the wonderful, insightful commentary... hearing the, shall we say, original sound of an electric piano just takes this boomer back to those delightful days of music. So, thanks Especially for That, Ms. Nolte!

Dang girl! You just reminded me that I revamped my arranged of You've Got A Friend, just the other day. Now I have to practice it tonight. I think I've seriously improved it for performance . . . with a capo. This is a great celebration of Carole King. Thanks!

Tapestry was the first album by a female I had ever bought. It wasn't the last. She is a fabulous song writer. Love her❤

Talk about music therapy…I remember being 6 years old in ‘71 singing and dancing to It’s Too Late. My mom’s friends would cheer me on and clap for me. Tapestry ended up being the top 3 favorite albums of all time since. Now in my later years I’m learning piano and one of my goals is to play the entirety of this album. Thank you for your gift of sharing your passion. I will be learning a lot from you from now on.

Larry Carlton did a wonderful instrumental interpretation of So Far Away that is from his self-titled 1978 album, in itself a wonderful album full of musical emeralds and diamonds. Kudos, Aimee, you are a musical gift from the gods.

Been watching your videos for a while. Didn't know you could sing so well. You have a lovely voice. I read Carole's autobiography and while reading the discography I kept saying to myself, I didn't know she wrote that. I guarantee that Just about anyone who reads it will say the same thing.
