Wow, it sure has been a while, hasn't it? I usually put out more music than I have lately, so this year's been a little slow. Part of that is life, part of it is low inspiration, and most of all it's due to the fact I switched my entire workflow away from Windows and had to re-learn so much software and equipment. It all took a while, but I think it's smooth sailing now! As well as the usual slow-moving projects like Acoustic 3, I've been working on a new album called "Casting Shadows" that I can't wait to share with you on October 18th!
Like a lot of the upcoming songs, "Eternal Lullaby" was inspired by my recent experiences in the Elden Ring DLC "Shadow of the Erdree". This song mourns from the perspective of St. Trina, the discarded half of demigod Miquella, and the beloved deity of sleep. She questions why he would ever separate from her, and despite still feeling love for her other half, she sings out a sorrowful curse that he may never ascend to his dangerous goals.

Miquella’s mistake in rejecting St Trina is shown with the Putrescent Knight. St Trina offered compassion and comfort to literal filth, the most reviled and neglected thing possible, and it rose up to defend her with ferocity that could make demigods tremble. An Age of Compassion is _not_ an age of control, and true, knightly loyalty is something earned, not forced.
No idea if you know TBskyen. But I so. SO badly hope he has this same reading of the Putrescent knight... Its' beautiful...

Thiollier might be weak as a kitten and thick as two planks, but calling him 'literal filth' is a bit much!

You must imbibe this song more than 1000 times to get the hidden lore.
And its so convoluted that you need a 40 minute Vaatividya video to understand what the hell is going on
MIQUELLA, nearest to divinity, did what only one other in the entirety of the Erdtree's react is ever recorded as having done - he split himself in two. As Marika and Radagon were one, so once were Miquella and Saint Trina. Fascinatingly, and perhaps indicative of Radagon's relationship to Marika, Trina was the very embodiment of Miquella's love. Whereas Miquella was only capable of enchanting the heart, Trina was capable of caring for the enchanted. Yet, Miquella abandoned Trina, and his ability to feel. He is become a psychopathic psychopomp, and is on the very cusp of ascendance, not to the status of a mere Lord, but to that of a god, a god before which the very Golden Order will tremble, a deity that the Erdtree will not contain. Worse, even, then irresponsible, caustic Marika, would Miquella's reign be. It is up to the Tarnished Champion to fulfill St. Trina's one request, and bring the mercy of the grave to Miquella.
I get my fromsoft lore mostly from songs, and the rest from the comments under said songs. I refuse to watch lore videos, that would be too comprehensive for the spirit of the games

Whilst many wished for more Godwyn lore, I enjoyed the Miquella lore. A boy who wanted a true, compassionate world filled with love, took on a journey and shed everything that was needed to make that dream true, most importantly, he abandoned the one thing that was necessary to even think about entertaining his dream: Love. Saint Trina is that literal embodiment of love and compassion, and he tore her out like everything else, and only became a husk of his former self, driven by his desire, no matter the cost.
There's always next DLC...right?
@@themadartist1980I believe FromSoft has stated they may or may not make a prequel or sequel to Elden Ring but they currently have no intentions of more DLC

Miquella was literally so adamant that only he should ever have to suffer and sacrifice for the sake of the new world he wanted to create that he was willing to give up the quality that made him so altruistic and self-sacrificing to begin with.
As much as I wanted Godwyn lore, in some sense I understand why we didn't get it. Godwyn was felled by Destined Death. His soul is gone, his body a husk that cannot properly die. We knew he was felled by Destined Death, and we know exactly where his body actually is in the base game. Thinking he would return was foolishness on par with Marika's belief that she could have an eternal, golden world without Death.

I am not sure if this is how ST Trina felt but god damn the lyrics evoke the most powerful emotions of sadness and disappointment.

I love the calm but twisted tone to this one. It feels less like an biblical storm and more like a creeping mist beneath an overcast sky.

As someone who makes similar atmospheric and “low-budget” (self-recorded and self-edited/animated) lyric videos for their own music, I really admire how you step up the quality and cool-factor whenever you make a new one. They seem simple, but they can really be a pain in the ass to polish up lol

Ahhhh... Aviators have done it again, a sweet and syrupy song sung with such elegance, sending everyone into the stillness of sopor.
So pleasant is the slumber granted, you could almost forget to thank the Aviators for another fantastic song.
Saw this in my notification and woah this is a new side of Aviators that I'm not used to hearing, but a welcome change with a more calm tone with this track.

He has made quite a few songs like this in the past. They'll Never Find Us Here and Neon Sonata are two examples.
Now that I hear this one enough times. This reminds me of that long track "When our Bodies Wash Ashore" part of instrumental. And I can hear part of "They'll Never Find Us Here" as well.

First time I caught a song this early! Damn is it good too! Quiet and calm like a lullaby, such a soft voice while singing of a tragedy - oh this is a fantastic tribute to St Trina!

Before I listened to it the name had my mind thinking about times when I have been beating up enemies trying to keep them sun locked till they die while I am hastily mumbling "go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep"
I didn't think this was something I needed, but alas, here we are. This is amazing! It's like a different side of Avi that I haven't really heard before. Not that he hasn't had some somber songs, but nothing such as this. The vocals in this are heavenly, and the somber instrumental is phenomenal. It's still got that "Avi style," but once again it has been upgraded into something even more amazing. I honestly can not fathom how you continue to just get better and better with each passing song. I understand that experience will do that, but this almost feels unfair to other musicians. Especially that bridge. I never expected something like that, but it's so good! Falsetto Avi is something else. (I assume it counts as a falsetto?) Once again, just amazing work. And, as always, thank you to anyone who took the time to read this. And an even bigger thanks to Avi for making yet another phenomenal song. May there still be many more to come. Keep up the amazing work! ♥

I am always amazed by your range. From aggressive to soft, mellow to energetic. If there is one thing consistent with your music, it is the quality.
Nice! Thiollier was probably my favorite character in the DLC, and the Putrescent Knight was one of my favorite bosses

Really good choice for a single. I've always liked a lot of your simpler stuff (Better Worlds and Mirrors) than the newer, bombastic cuts. It's very easy to fall into the Imagine Dragons hole and try to make everything feel "epic." I think you achieved a good marriage of the styles here, with a simpler feel, but still very intricate and thoughtful production and composition. This does put a smile on my face.

This encapsulates St. Trina beautifully. She is left behind, betrayed and discarded. Yet still she grieves for Miquella, her betrayer, who she knows he has mutilated in pursuit of godhood, and will do so further before he is done. I wonder if she knew the Tarnished of No Renown would fail to prevent his ascension, and would only be able to stop him when it was too late to save him. So great is her love.
