Great video JT! I'm so glad people come up to you at these shows and tell you that they really like your videos or learn something from you. I would categorize myself in that category 100%...thank you so much for doing everything you do.
Glad I got to say hi to you! As a buyer of cards around the $100 range, I had very little luck at this show but hope the good sellers like you did well
Thanks for stopping by! The consensus amongst dealers I spoke with said the cards under $500 were the best sellers on Friday. One of my friends had a five figure sales day without selling more than a handful of cards worth $250+
@@TripleCrown24 understandable, I certainly by no means was talking to everyone, but continually (felt like 50%+) ran into situations where cards were priced at 150% of numerous comps and sellers absolutely would not budge an inch even when shown comps - I won’t refuse to pay over comps slightly but 250 for a card consistently selling for 150 is just going to be a pass for me every time. (Nothing to do with you of course, I didn’t even ask you about any cards). Just my experience
@@vMadMatt Not an uncommon experience from what I heard. My friend and I got told by a few customers we had some of the most reasonably priced cards on the show floor, especially on football.
Great first day! I’m glad you pointed out the positive, polite, and friendly interactions even if they didn’t end in deals. On both sides of the table that kind of mutual respect goes a long way into making any show the best experience possible. It’s always cool to see the tips and generosity towards younger collectors. Look forward to the rest!
Those guys who didn't make the deals with certainly put me in a better mood, I can tell you that much. I went into the show expecting to get beat down until there was nothing left. Thankfully most of the interactions were positive.
I didn't attend any shows for a solid 3 or 4 years, during the 'boom', just having been in the hobby for so long. I really wasn't interested in buying at that time. Now, it's awesome to see how many deals get worked out at the last few shows I've attended. All these videos that are done with a professional tone are awesome.
You have to realized if you’re buying on eBay let’s say the last comp was 200 for a card, to get it to you it’s 200 plus taxes plus shipping. So all in you’re about 220-230 plus having to wait for the card. So dealers charging a little over comp is still under what you pay on eBay
Great video! I think in the last year things have changed because of repackers and it’s not a bad thing. Modern football is constantly circulating however it’s forced a shift in buying and selling margins. You could buy stuff at 75%-80% a year ago but with repackers in the mix paying up to 95%-100% we dealers do not have that much wiggle room anymore unless we buy raw cards to grade. I think you did well the that guy offering $255 for that downtown. Downtowns are very liquid and we have to pay high for thin margins.
Very good points. People are having to pay more for the most in demand cards, regardless of what side of the table they are on. The effect I like most is that in theory, we are increasing the value of great cards through their demand and people not being willing to sell them at a percentage. I certainly don't want to be in a hobby where it's all going to zero.
Awesome video JT 👍🤘 I thought of you last night when I waa checking out chasing cardboards ebay account and seen all the1/1 Miggys they got from their recent video.
You’d think the same guy constantly low balling on the Downtowns would get the hint after a show or two of seeing you there. Seems like every show has at least that one guy that does this. You handle that about as professional as possible.
They have short memories haha. Some of them truly don't realize that I remember them and the previous negative interaction(s) despite them not remembering me.
I’ve delt with that kid at shows absolutely rude and hateful talks down on dealers all the time offered me 60% on a downtown and said I have to pay less because I’ll grade it then tried to educate me
Awesome vlog as always. You are very organized and methodical with your ways. What bag do you have. The check-in size one with wheels. Is that a custom foam insert for the cards? Thanks! - Ram 🐏
I always enjoy doing deals with you! You're one of the nicest and most professional dealers in the game.
Thanks sir, likewise!
I wish I had your organizational skills 😁
Thank you for the great content, as always!
Thanks for watching!

That is good to hear. A show is the most healthy when there are fair deals being worked out for all parties involved
Love your videos, I am a big collector and watch your videos all the time
Thanks for watching!
Great video! I learned some stuff that I’ll use as a dealer. Appreciate it!
Thank you!
You always give great advice! Very much appreciated!
Thanks!
Pricing over comps and not moving off sticker sounds like every dealer these days

"Don't down talk your collection" AND Don't down talk my friend JT's charisma! You keep being you brother. You're doing just fine!
Thank you my friend!
Really enjoyed how you set up and make everything organized.
Thank you
