Important note: Upon reviewing the video I saw a mistake during the ASA switch section. I got the switch wheel and resistor board backwards while narrating. It's such a small mistake, I decided not to render it a second time and upload again. It is obvious what I meant. The switch wheel presses down on the resistor board to send a signal to the IC. The adjustment stub moves the contacts and changes the EV exposure setting.

Timely video - now that I've gotten my OM-1 and FTb matching my spot meter exactly, I'm working my way through my other cameras, one of which is an AE-1 (non-program). Is the pot to adjust the meter in the same place on that version of the AE-1?

      Hello Andrew
Sorry, no. The adjustments for the AE-1 are located in a different area. I need to make a video for the meter adjustment on the Canon AE-1, but have been busy making other videos. I know I will make one, but not sure when. It counts on my work load here in my shop, and what cameras people send me. I will have one next year, but not sure when.

      Hello playman5000
Sorry, I have no idea what is wrong with your Canon AE-1, but it does not sound good. My success rate for trouble shooting electronic cameras is less than 50%. I usually end up replacing the whole circuit. I can only suggest you check all switches and search for a direct short. This is usually the main cause of a needle pegging. If not that it's IC failure related, and that can't be fixed. Sorry for the bad news.
