Yes I bought a fake Gelareh Mizrahi bag on Poshmark! I made a video on it. Thankfully I got all my money back but Poshmark fought me and didn’t comply. I always pay through another service that has buyer protection. So often that’s a credit card. This time I paid with Affirm. Affirm is wonderful they agreed with me that it was a fake and they gave my money back with no fight. Even when I have the funds on hand I will never buy a bag with debit or cash.
Hi!, I was looking for a coach 26 tabby on ebay, and what I found was that a good deal of the listings were at 50% or more less than retail. I remembered one of your videos that I watched about counterfeit bags. So I opted out and just ordered from coach. Sometimes it's just not worth going through the stress and anxiety of it all. So I paid full retail but at least I know what I got. Thank you!
OMG!! I’m so sorry to hear this! Thank you so much for this. I was not aware of the change in the authentication process. Very glad to hear you got your money back asap.
Awe ty so much my friend! Yes, just make sure you see the words "shipped to authenticator" before you buy or get it authenticated yourself first! ♥️♥️♥️
Good to know that policies have changed! Is it me or are there also less bag discount codes now on ebay? Also, I remember you had bought the baby niki and I think it was the same style or at least black, are there other bags you sold and tried to get back or are looking to get back or is that another video in itself? Glad you avoided getting a fake bag!
yes, I'm not sure when that happened… I had a baby Niki, but I sold it because the hardware was black and I was worried about it… It's actually the one in the cover photo that I had :-). I would love to have another one (it's a great style), and that's why I tried to buy this bag with dark silver hardware. There should be another baby niki video in the future! Ty for watching ♥️🌸♥️
I always look at the eBay results with the authenticity guarantee. You can filter your results with that option. One time I did get a quick check from an outside authentication service but it sold that quick unfortunately.
Here in the US bags over $500 used to all be part of that so I would just sort for US but now I will do what you suggest :-). Thank you so much! ♥️♥️♥️
@@myluxurycloset529 Thanks for replying sooo quickly. I’m about to purchase my first bag, well first ever luxury bag and product ever from eBay. Fingers crossed it all works out. I am concerned as it does seem like it’s too good to be true. I did speak with a customer service rep tonight and they confirmed the listing is legit and will go through their authentication process. It’s a LV bag, new with box. The only reason I’m pulling the trigger is because they don’t produce this particular bag anymore. I’m not getting a deal but it is new for just a couple of hundred more than used. Thx. J. 🙂
@@jkhc29 I will cross my fingers and toes for you :-). I have a bag on the way from eBay as well that's actually not going through authentication… I'm going to authenticate it once it gets here and use the eBay money back guarantee if for some reason it's not authentic. it's much more of a hassle than having it authenticated by eBay in my opinion… If they find out that it's misrepresented or not authentic they will give you your money back right away!❤
@@myluxurycloset529 My purchase finally went through. They had some restriction on my account which is weird since it’s new and I never bought from eBay before. Maybe because it was a high amount, not sure. I hope all works out for both of us re: our new bags, please keep us posted. I will not receive mine until early next month. I live in Canada so this bag cost me more than it would have in store with the high shipping cost, conversion, taxes and duties. If LV still produced it I would have just bought it from them. I hope she’s worth it. Thx. J. 🙂
I wondered how this worked. I purchased two items right after EBay started this service. Both listings had the EBay Authentication in the listing but neither were shipped to EBay to be authenticated. I did have the items authenticated when I received them and thankfully it worked out. I agree, the buyer should have the option to request the items be authenticated by EBay during the check out process.
Sorry to hear about this experience. Fortunately, though a refund was quickly provided. Thank you for pointing out the eBay policy. I too thought all qualifying luxury handbags over $500 went to an authentication center.
I bought a speedy on eBay a long time ago that the authenticators told me had repairs done that were not done by LV….therefore they could not deem it authentic.
Aaryn, so sorry to hear that this happened to you. I am glad you took the steps to protect yourself. Thank you for letting us know the changes about ebay.
Oh no!! 😢 I’ve purchased a few LV items from eBay, and now I guess I’ll need to get my things authenticated for myself. Most sellers say authentic, item, but I guess that doesn’t mean anything.🤷🏽♀️😮😮
Hope you enjoy it! Ty for sharing:). The authenticity center hasn't went away - there are just a lot of sellers opting not to use it unfortunately:(...♥️♥️♥️
I’m sorry this happened to you Aaryn but glad there was a resolution & you received your refund promptly. It’s scary trying to sell or buy preloved luxury bags from individuals because you don’t want to end up getting scammed. Where would you suggest trying to sell contemporary bags?
It was very smart of you to have it authenticated before it shipped and that saved you the hassle of returning it. Totally ridiculous that they don’t require authentication of luxury items when there are so many fakes out there. Sorry this one didn’t work out but you’ll find that bag somewhere and hopefully for a good price.
It was lucky I caught it before she dropped it off - that saves her money too. It's ok, of course:). I'm just glad I'm done with the situation! There's always another bag😜🥰♥️
I found this interesting as when I have looked at a handbag and it did not say authenticity guarantee on the heading, it offered it for $40 below the pay option buttons-so had not seen one like yours before. Will pay close attention for sure in future! 💕
I think they must have changed it. I sold a bag over $500 and it went to authentication, this was last year. They said it had damage it didn't and sent it back to me. Left a grease stain on the box. Very disappointing
That's so ridiculous, there should be a mandatory authentication above $500, and an optional one you can pay for as a buyer below that. I would never trust a seller that opts out of that. Sorry you had to deal with that!
I know, right?!? It used to be mandatory at least for sales within the USA...and I would have loved to have had the option to buy it if the item were below. It's definitely a step in the wrong direction by eBay imo, if I am understanding things correctly...😢♥️
A lot of them still do! I think it is just now that the seller has a choice and before they didn't if it was over $500… At least if it was classified correctly :-).♥️♥️♥️. Tysm
I listed a Loewe bag last weekend but got concerned about a bait and switch or some other scam so cancelled it. There was no option - it was to get mailed to eBay’s authentication center at no fee. There was a shipping choice which defaulted to USPS and I changed to FedEx. Could the seller for yours maybe not listed it as a handbag?
That's very interesting- it may be brand specific but I spoke with ebay and in this case the rep at least told me the seller had an option?!? Whatever it is, I only want to buy and sell items that go through their authenticity center♥️. They take photos and make sure returns come back the way they were sent out and that items purchased are what was advertised🥰. Ty so much!♥️
I purchased a black coach Cassie on Mercari recently. I was expecting genuine. It was a super fake and wow it was soooo close to the real one. It was a gift for my mom and she wouldn’t have known the difference but that’s not how I roll. I had to open a case and they asked me to send it back to the seller so I did and a few days after delivery back to them, the money posted to my account. The seller never “accepted” my return. It was nerve racking. A couple days after the return issue, the seller deleted their profile. I kept trying to find a way to report the page / the listing and express my concerns and there was no option for that. Now I know and I will be extra careful online. Thankfully Mercari sided with me😅
