Not really. I am European and think this is just not possible (technological). And how to fund this. I think Africans have better projects to build then a railway.
@@pieterjan29You identified yourself, then you denied his claim, then you ended up reinstating exactly what he said. You people are very predictable and irredeemable. I am sure we are not asking Western "experts" their opinion about it.
The map didn't include Dakar in Senegal. Dakar is a large, vibrant international city that is an economic hub and is strategically located on the Westernmost tip on the mainland.
I would LOVE to travel on an inter-african trainline. It would be fantastic!! However, I'm sceptical about Afrail. It is listed as a single person owned company based in the Cayman islands, with very opaque finances that has been running since 2014. So that should raise alarm bells with fake crypto investments. If the could make money on the rail system, then they should be raising investment on that basis. But then they suggest using Maglev technology - that is incredibly expensive, which is why it has never been successfully implemented commercially without incredible subsidy. Inter-African rail networks are needed! but the starting point should be state to state connections with traditional rail and high speed rail technology
A fantastic project as Africa needs this type of infrastructures , My only concerns are the rail tacks will go across animal migration routes and many animals will get killed, due to being struck By such a fast moving trains, therefore, there needs to be careful planning By the railroad builders.
Look into things: it's a US based company named ABBA rail/ that created a crypto platform named ABBA platform which is used to sell people a cytpo currency named Cillar that you and every African will need to get on that railway!! Thru say it's out of Namibia that they get the green light but even Namibia might just be a bystander to the ultimate benifits of this ( if any given a US company is heading this)!
As moroccan this project is very ambitious and would really help our continent to prosper ! But the second phase in north africa won't be possible because of the conflict with Algeria ! a country that's blocking the devloppement of the whole north african region because of it's old suviet / military regime ..

There would most definitely have to be above ground tracks as well as tunnels and animal bridges. Otherwise, you’re going to have millions of dead animals and people in train derailments.
Why not. I’m sure it was African resources that built the French TGV high speed rail and infrastructure throughout Europe. No reason the continent’s wealth can’t build the infrastructure for the lands it comes from.
south africa's rail called METRO it is top10 rail in the world the whole south africa vilage, distrect, whereHouses, airports and all cities are opareting METRo train&the very high speed even they connection all southern african nations. marooco got lucky to have new south-africa

Good luck with that, you will need a tremendous amount of cooperation between almost 50 or more governments, sustained over 20 years, there will be many hands out.
@UnitedAfrica-uw9ct just read it.. what stood out is democratic governance, this one is key as you need government accountability to the people and not just adulation for a new strongman leader. The goals established 11 years ago do not seem closer now. Overcoming tribalism, interrelgious harmony, the battle against Islamic jihadism, these challenges are still present. Increased peace and reduction in the number of conflicts stood out. The goals enumerated are all laudable, Not really seeing the cooperation needed to attain the targets, the amount of coups and instability isn't helping and the default " blame the west" for lack of progress while getting into relationships with undemocratic Russia and China seems counter-intuitive. These 2 countries luckily for them do not have "African colonial" history but doesn't make them any less colonial ( ask Dagestan, Chechnya, parts of Georgia, Tibet and the uyghurs )
If the Chinese or British are behind this, then you can guarantee that it'll do just that. Our leaders are useless stooges who don't have the continent and it's people's best interest at heart. If they did,our people and our resources should be used to develop our continent
@ramahassan5363. Yes,it's the western mindset to care more about the animals than the people. They would rather see the continent empty of its people so as to continue to rape the continent of resources and use it as its playground. They mean us no good. We can definitely arrange things to benefit both people and animals.
good luck, because if you know anything about Africa, that project won't happen or maybe once Africa is united again. too many country to cross and too get along which is impossible at the present time so keep dreaming. or work toward the United States of Africa first
A prosperous and united africa is a pipe dream,if we do not eradicate corruption and our rulers who serve the west. Anyway, does anyine know where i can buy this crypto currency?
The constant barrage of mostly daft stock footage is really hard to stand. Just like the crypto coin thing it instantly casts a lot of doubt. Looks like another colonial project. pegged to the dollar... you guys know the Americans don't have any modern train technology right? While China has just built a comparable domestic network...
It seems pegging to the USD allows for greater leverage of the funds raised, due to exchange rate. The other thing, the U.S. does not employ high speed rail not because it can’t. It doesn’t do it because it is beholden to the automobile and fuel industry that have each been king since early 20th century. High speed rail means less demand for automobiles, and the auto companies wouldn’t like that.
@@marcusc5257The $ is on the way out and the US is technologically backward, they don't have modern technology. The whole Afrail project reeks of a big nasty scam.
@@Breakfast_of_Champions ...You're being way too pessimistic. Not sure whether it's intentionally. But considerable highspeed trains are already in some African countries such as Algeria, Egypt, South Africa, Morocco, etc. So having highspeed trains operating across the continent is feasible.
This is a bad idea, when all the countries its going to, is not stable, you need to be reliable countries for maintenance, safety and security, if this is build who is going to provide the billions to make it, the millions yearly maintain it and how much destruction its going to cost by removing people and farmers land and what will happen if oil, natural gas and minerals is found hundreds of miles under and around the tracks, until all African nations becomes more stable, its safer and more reliable to travel by boat and air.
