I see that the weather is warm enough for shorts🙂 Over here right now it's getting colder🙃. Today it even rained a little bit🌦. It looks like it will rain more again this weekend. I hope that it doesn't rain too much😔.
But the cold weather is just cold enough to be good for my bulbs🌱! I've planted them all except for the ranunculus that I saved from last year. It seems it will be helpful to soak those overnight first according to some of the advice I found.
Seeing your udon and fried chicken meal made me feel warmer though. It looked really delicious😋🍜🍗. Somehow I have not had udon noodles, even though I like noodles... How is that possible😓? There is even a very good Japanese restaurant near my house and I go to the shopping complex where it is located quite often. Still, I always end up craving some other food when I get a chance to eat udon🍤🍣🍱.
I actually ordered watercolour paint yesterday, haha😅! So far, I've been using watercolour pencils that I already had, but it's a little tiresome to mix purples and pinks, so I decided to finally get a watercolour tin with paint cakes. There was also a big sale🤩 on a local online general goods shop and so I managed to get some more stamp inks too.
The main selling point for me was the tin👀👀! It's been surprisingly difficult to find empty tin palettes for sale here😨. At school( long, long ago-haha) we would make our own from metal pencil cases. But they don't sell many of those any more, I've noticed. I could order a palette on Aliexpress, but I would have to wait a while for delivery😑; or I could buy one from a local online art store, but I noticed that the price for an empty palette was almost the same as the set with paint I bought🧐😲🙁. So I felt that it might be good to try this more inexpensive option, which got really good reviews from art students, while I learn which colours I tend to use more. Then I at least get a tin I can keep and slowly refill it with colours from better brands over time😌😏. From my experience with acrylic paint, it helps to first know what colours you use a lot😩.
That art store was quite big! The one I like to go to is about that size, maybe a little bit bigger. I realise from reading the comment section of your videos how lucky I am to live in a city with good art shops. I think perhaps it's like this because we have 2 main universities that have a good reputation for the arts field and many of the top high schools have good arts programs. We also have a lot of professional artists that live here, and many people( especially women and girls) like to do hobby crafts as well.
Don't you find going to the art store both calming and exciting? There's always something new😀, or that you've been looking for for a long time😁. The other day I saw a purple paper cutter- and I love purple😆🥰- but my pink paper cutter is still good and sharp so I had to tell myself not to buy it. I find I take longer than I expected at the art store because I can't decide or I get distracted💸💸💸😢😅🤣.
It was so satisfying to watch you paint those bricks one by one🧱🧱. I'm so glad you felt that you did better with this attempt👸🏻🏆. Thinking about where the light and shadow is for a picture from imagination can be tiring😓. Sometimes I'm still surprised to see where light and shadow goes for a real image😮😮😮. It's amazing how we can sometimes ignore details, but if they are not there we know it's not right.
I think many of us look a little strange when we concentrate deeply. These days I have been trying to stop myself from making funny expressions when I concentrate. I used to make no expression at all➡️😶! This was actually because I made myself like that. There was a girl in my class who was a gymnast from a young age and she taught herself to smile whenever she concentrated because that was important for competitions. But that led to her smiling during maths tests and exams😁😱! We were so surprised to see her smiling when an exam was particularly difficult for everyone😁👀👀👀👀🥴. We were all worried that we failed, or that we didn't understand like we should, but she explained it to us and we got used to her. That made me conscious of the expression I was making when I concentrated back then😶😶😶.
Ara, I wanted to ask you about the Tombow colourless blending pen: do you think it's worth it? I watched a few videos on RUclips and I'm not sure if I should purchase it. I know they come with some of their sets, but I'm buying some individual colours to start with because they don't come together in any of the sets. I see some people blend their Tombow colours with water brush pens smoothly. What has your experience been?

The process of evaluating and then selecting your materials is endlessly fascinating to someone who truly appreciates artistic endeavors (though I cannot draw anything to save my soul). Your drawings/paintings, are of course, most excellent. I have some sense of your frustration with shadow. I am fully confident you will acquire the ability to overcome this small matter and master the techniques. Hello Ara! What a wonderful painting video! I'm glad, that you like Schminke paint. My first and only mini pallet is by Schminke. I bought it, when I was around 13/14 years and it was very expensive for me. This is now more than 20 years ago and I still don't know how to use the paint in the correct way. But your paintings are so beautiful and light that I tried to paint again.
I recently made a photoalbum for my friend where I added a few painted pictures, like stickers. I got the inspiration from you and I really enjoyed it. I think I'll try this again in the near future.
I'm really happy that I stumbled over your channel!

Last week l tried eating noodles with chopstick. As an lndian l never used chopsticks but voila when l used it l was so successful that l was proud on myself😁. Btw in my country that flower shape palette is a thing almost all the student have in elementary school for painting class, but it comes in the transparant one and has many colorful color to pick... also because the price is cheaper & easy to find i guess, that's why we buy it..
I have tried cold udon, it taste amazing. Usually i like thin & curly noodles (that's why i like 비비멘 the best 😆), but udon is just exceptionally good 🥰.
I like the usual hot udon too. There are a store name called "Marugame Udon" (it's a franchise from Japan i guess) i like theirs menu named "Kake Udon" (just udon & hot broth) or beef udon (same like kake udon but with additional thin beef slice).

Yeah i like bibimyeon so much 🥰🥰🥰i try many different brand, but my fav is paldo, also samyang, but samyang that i like is limited edition (the one that claim up to 12000 SHU with 도전 sauce) but i don't know about it now, is it still limited edition or already become usual product.. for the spiciness, i can still handle the paldo one, for the samyang with challenge sauce, is a bit over for me, but still 맛있어요 , i finished it eventhough took to much time 🤣🤣🤣
This week was amazing, i watched many kdrama at same time, i finished "Find Me in your Memory" and "내일" both of them are good drama. I also still ongoing watch "sh**ting stars" and "Queendom2" (something like survival program). I hope you had amazing week too 😊
