Mike I spoke to you earlier today on the phone. I went online to do more research and I found the glowing stereo phone review, steve guttenberg’s glowing review, and now your video. I can’t wait to hear it in your showroom.
Hey Mike great looking integrated! Looks like awesome build quality. Nice price tag man! LOVE the minimalist design of the front panel. Plenty of inputs. Convenient rear panel layout. I totally agree with you that the black looks sharp contrasted by the silver switches. Awesome work on the overview, plenty of in formation given. Have a great day!
I just got my Rogue v2 back from Rogue for the v3 upgrade. The difference is dramatic, especially with the SVS sub integration. Also, it resolves better, better stereo imaging, and detail. The phono preamp seems to be better in separation and detail as well. My System is the Rogue v3, Rega P3 with a 2M Bronze, Oppo BDP93 with a Cambridge DAC100, and Focal Chorus 706 speakers. I use Audioquest NRG2 Power chords and Blue Jean locking Speakers cables and Blue Jean RCA's. I am considering Magnepan LRS speakers someday. I think they would match well with the Rogue. I am a former 1.6qr owner. Nice review
It seems most of the Hi-end companies have fully embraced Hypex & ICEpower for anything Class D, whether its Rogue, PS Audio, all the way up to Mark Levinsons new company and even the Steinway & Sons speaker line. Very interesting!
The Hypex modules have a proven track record for quality and reliability. The biggest issue with these modules is sound quality which I feel Rogue has figured out with the valve preamp in front.
@@HudsonValleyHiFI The R&D required for making a "high end" Class D IC must be astronomical. I would love to audition a few hypex based amps side to side just to know where the subtleties lie between implementations. Would a Daniel Hertz amp really run circles around a PS audio sprout for example.
Hi, sorry for some stupid questions, I’m new to this stuff. If I buy this sphinx, CD player and the speakers, is that enough equipments to set up the stereotype system, or anything else I have to add? How to control the bass, treble on this amplifier? Thanks a lot!

Wonderful Amp, must have!
Great review. The Rogue Sphinx is on my short list for amp upgrades.

Thank you for watching and appreciate the support!
Thanks Mike, look like a good blend of tech.

Thank you for the comment Bill. I greatly appreciate real world reviews like this. Excellent system btw. Maggie's would be excellent with the Sphinx.
Do you think it will go fine with a pair o Magnepan LRS+?

You will need a DAC. CD player to DAC to Sphinx and to Speakers.
That is a complete system. There are no tone controls on Rogue gear, really no need I have found for them.
Unless your buying a CD transport, every CD player has a DAC built in. If there are RCA jacks on the player, it has a DAC.
What tubes are used ?
What does the start up really do ?
Pair of 12au7 / ECC82. The start up mutes the amp for a minute or so which prevents any noise as the tubes warm up. Fairly common in modern gear.
Some decades ago Sphinx was a Dutch brand.......( tube amp)
