Thank you. Very, very helpful since we bought a used vehicle and were not sure how what options we might have if we purchased the remote and headphones!
Also a review of the 2016 model with Apple/Android Play would be nice. I'm curious if it's just an overlay over the existing system, perhaps one of the input "options" or something totally different that takes over everything when plugged in.
Touch the home button on your dash and pick video...it will play the video on the front screen as well while in park and the audio will play through the speakers of the vehicle
On the configuration page, there are two options. The "Rear seat entertainment system with Blu-Ray" $1695 and the "Rear seat DVD entertainment system" $2095? I see this review is for the $2100 system, a $400 difference. Anyone know how this is different from the $1700 "Rear seat entertainment system with Blu-Ray" system? Both are mutually exclusive.
Toyota was actually the first to launch a Blu-Ray player in a car system, GM, Chrysler and Toyota have has production models for a while and Honda joins this year.
The big question is: can it play video files (movies) off the SD card or USB? That's the main drawback of this system -- lack of HDMI. Sure you've got composite inputs, but I'm not about watching movies in 480i anymore. AIN'T ABOUT DAT
LargeMargene Yes you can use your SD or USB to play movies...I don't suggest using the USB since its only USB 2.0 and if your going for HD content the bandwidth will not support smooth playback. I use a class 10 SD card with 720p videos and there smooth as butter :)
You never explained how it actually works lol. How does it turn on/activate/sync with the front screen display/ how do the video sources connect etc?? I just bought a used 2016 Yukon with this system that clearly has never been used and have no idea how to get the rear screen to start playing something.
I have an iPhone and I bought an apple adaptor that that coverts HDMI to light cable so I can connect it to my phone and I use that to airplay Netflix and basically any other apps
Does anyone know that if a 2007 Chevy Tahoe had the video and audio (red, yellow, and white) cable input in the rear seat entertainment center. If so would a Xbox or PlayStation be able to be plugged in and played on the flip down screen if the right cable was used
Supported Audio and Video formats from USB/SD/USB Connected Device:
Audio = MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, WAV, AIF, AC3
Video = MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, H.263, H.264, AVCHD, Flash, WMV, DivX, Xvid, RMVB, Nero Digital
Please help on how we can navigate options without having the remote. Its lost

On the 2015 suburban LTZ, back of the driver and passenger seats are what looks like air vents. What exactly is the function of these features?
Red Darland The LTZ model has not only heated but cooled front seats. These vents are for the cooling fans to suck in air and blow on the passenger.
