Southern Utah’s Best Golf Holes - Random 18, Part 1

- It was only a matter of time before playing a complete round of golf at an assortment of courses was suggested to Erik Anders Lang. When time is of the essence, why not play the greatest holes a region has to offer or simply put: a Random 18? Thanks to Dan and Lincoln from “What’s Inside,” this incredible idea became a reality in no place other than St. George, Utah. This inaugural edition begins with 5 holes from Sand Hollow Championship Golf Course, highlighted by an extra special Ace Cam on a par 3 nicknamed “The Devil’s Throat.”

I was there, yet this video makes me want part 2 more than anything!
What's Inside? Is there another video
This is a great idea. Maybe I`m a little biased because I am from Utah.
I miss Colt.
And Stu
First
who else loves the VLOG style ?:)
Me: Im in the ruff
AEL: "I landed in this native american encampment"
Hahaha
8:51 "just like a three-month-year-old baby draw." -Beau
He really has a way with words
Love the vid fellas
3 month year? old? lols
Utah is so underrated when it comes to golf. Fr
No, it's horrible. Definitely not worth coming here and playing. It's awful I promise.
And now I know! But don't worry guy downplaying it because you don't want the tourist's slowing you up...I'll likely never get the chance 😂
@@bryceolsen8740 Agreed. Golf here sucks not worth the time or your money. And there isn't any real golf courses around to choose from.
@@bryceolsen8740 Too late buddy, the beans have already been spilled XD
@@bryceolsen8740 agreed, go anywhere but utah. Stay clear of utah
Love watching EAL golf with others. Looks like you are all really enjoying yourselves and it makes the videos very appealing. Makes me feel like im there on the course!
Glad you're feeling it!
We’ve been counting anything that hits that little bump, or the stupid pool noodle they have around the pin. Unless of course you send a missile flying in there...
That course looks like someone copied and pasted a beautiful golf course in the middle of a canyon. If it looks that amazing on camera, I can't imagine the beauty in person.
Taking that putt that bounced out is totally legit. As long as a "missed" putt can reasonably be attributed to the anti-Covid measures that are beyond your control, then it is perfectly acceptable to take them as being in. Except in competition if the rules say otherwise of course. I was surprised to see that you pulled the pin though; here in the UK it is 'streng verboten' to touch the flag.
The courses I’ve played at in utah during Covid have also prohibited pulling the pin, it was weird to see them pull theirs
I miss pulling pins this year....but I'm so used to putting with it in that I may never go back 🤷♂️⛳🏌️
@@_dboy_ Agree. The only time I would really bother to take it out now is when there is wind blowing it around.
Yo EAL this is epic and im totally stealing the idea
Random 18 needs to become a thing right??
Seriously! Like screw taking a weekend vacation to a city to play two different courses or something...put in some more planning and go to an area, start early, make your way through multiple courses through the day/weekend, AND as a bonus see more of the areas the courses are located in. I am WAY into it
Love your videos, but man it'd be nice to see you at least acknowledge the fact that there's a worldwide pandemic going on. You don't live with these people and it's very doubtful that everyone involved in this production quarantined before this. Just throw some masks on man. How difficult is that?
Yeah that's killing these recent videos for me. It just feels like he's living a different reality from us 'normal' people.
to be fair, they are outdoors in the sunshine (not wearing masks in the car, but...)where covid is basically instantly deactivated. With social distancing that is inherent to the game of golf, i think there is very little risk and no need to wear masks when playing golf.
@@grantbeck9228 true, it's the other times that concern me
COVID cup definitely counts. Happens so much now.
It was weird hearing the How Ridiculous “slow motion song in the background at 8:25
GIVE US THE REST>>>>WE DEMAND THE REST lol
Patience my guy
Loved the podcast with these guys. Oh my, Sand Hollow is Just unreal looking. So pure. Great video as always EAL.
Erik. This was so good.
Seriously can’t wait to see the rest of the holes on this Random 18.
When do we get part 2??
Came from What's Inside
Welcome!
hole 5 at sand hollow is just begging me to shank it and bounce the ball off the cliffs and back into my face
I was thinking the same thing LOL!
I’ve been waiting on this video since the podcast came out
No SunBrook, SunRiver, Sky Mountain or Copper Rock? Missed 4 good tracks down there in Southern Utah
Part 1 my guy
This is fun.
Been watching you for awhile EAL and finally some places I have played! Love it man! Keep it up!
RGC needs a TV show or Netflix original.😆
Been thinking about that for a while. Needs to happen ASAP.
love the idea. like "meateater" for golfers
Amazing that the dudes in the pro shop weren’t just like “go out and do whatever you want”
Sand Hollow is in a different class than these other courses. Easily the best course in S Utah. There’s a great little 9-hole links course alongside the “Championship Course” as well.
I've played sand hollow one time. My brother in law slam dunked it on Hole 14 for an eagle from like 140. Completely destroyed the cup haha.
9:20 I AGREE! you definitely need a camera on the green to record how the ball spins. the about the one thing you lacking on. but i fucking love your videos man. you really got me back into golf.
Idea for a video- Pick a subscriber and play 9 with them. teach if they ask or are not great. would watch every video.
@14:22 Imagine waiting to tee-off on your par 3 while 92 people discuss the course on the green.
Watching all of that gave me such good vibes.
Two of my fav RUclipsrs
You definitely gotta come back to play Black Desert!!!
I'm sad to hear that Ut has good golfing. Its terrible to hear. Our secret is getting out. For the past 20 years .
*plays winged foot*
'rather light rough.'
You definitely made that putt at 8:00 and what the heck is that cup, imagine making a hole out and the hole doesn’t even let your ball in the hole
cant wait to see who wins
Hole 2 is not a putt. If it's not in the hole, it's not in the hole, sorry dude.
Whens the trip to payne valley erik?
What kind of golf back does Erik have here ???
How in the hell is there a golf course in the middle of the desert?
Sand Hollow is beyond beautiful.
Come play bountiful ridge
That putt was dead center , no way that comes out of a normal cup.
You guys need to hit up Copper Rock!!
That putt definitely counts.
I gotta spend a weekend in Utah just to golf
Fun project you guys dreamed up.
Great collab with What's Inside - loved the extra camera angles and POVs. This was awesome.
This is epic!
what golf pants are those erik?
definitely a covid cup!
You gotta play Black Jack Crossing/Lajitas on your way into Texas, it’s like a fun version of Wolf Creek. I’ve played both, Lajitas is at least as pretty, while having wider fairways.
What an incredible par three that last hole is! My list of bucket list courses just got longer!
Great stuff EAL. Can’t remember if you’ve done New Mexico golf at Pa Ko Ridge and Black Mesa. Beauty like I’ve never seen before. If you haven’t, please do visit there.
Live now and grew up in St. George, played JAG on these courses and never knew how blessed and lucky I was until I started watching RGC, I really thought everyone played on courses this beautiful all the time. P.S. hole 12 is notoriously forgiving if you have a slice, you can bounce one off the cliff face and land back onto the fairway, some would say it's the shot to take.
garbanzo beans 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Came all the way to Utah to lay up on 13?
good lord who was the camera man?
What kind of shot tracer do you use? It's magnificent!
Believe they are using Red Giant Trace Code 3D stroke (Not Correct) ;)
@@ConnorFotsch They just create their own in After Effects. He's answered this question before.
@@bryceolsen8740 Makes sense
What happened to Stuart and your LA studio. Is everything moving to TX? nice views of utah
Just got back from Sand Hollow. 18 holes in the morning. Water skiing & swimming at the reservoir in the afternoon. Then played the par 3 course in sandals and beers with my buddies in the sunset. A more epic day with your buddies cannot be possible. ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome is an overused word but this totally deserves that description. If I only lived in the US ... so jealous right now as I open my curtains to fog and drizzle!
Man that kid has a solid swing.
Sand Hollow 12 man oh man
EAL love the videos... wondering if u have ever played a course with three par 3's three par 4's and three par 5's on the front and back 9? Would u be interested in doing so?
The ledges is one of my favorite courses I’ve played👍🏻👍🏻
Live in St. George and go to school here, some of the best golf landscape you’ll ever see! Can’t wait to see you play the Gorge (I’m guessing) and Green Springs.
Coming from the UK I don't really know where Utah is, but it looks an amazing setting for a Golf Course
I've got a much better idea...why don't you just play all of the golf courses?
If you had driven the ball at Winged Foot like you did on most of the holes here you would have easily broken 90! But good to see your “buttery tempo” has returned. And being 1 over after those 5 holes with zero lost balls is just unbelievable. Looking forward to the next installment for sure!
Sandhallow is awesome, although I will say the guys did pick their best holes. The front 9 is fun but mostly flat and the views are no where near as spectacular as they are on the back.
Really cool idea!! Sand Hollows looks amazing. I'd count that putt at 7:47 as made. Everywhere I've played says do not touch/pull the pin
Erik, thank you so much for using the term "Tour Sauce" Your VLOG's got me started on a narrative approach to golf, and the other group you're referring to, has got me so interested in playing golf around the world with a core group of friends, and maybe learning 60 different ways to bet on the game haha. I think both channels should be the top golf channels on youtube.
Absolutely counts
Awesome video, beautiful landscapes out there! Lincoln has an awesome swing, never give up the game Lincoln and always keep grinding !
So f4king radical. I was blown away by this course. Can’t wait to see the rest!
Haha love the Tour Sauce shoutout, linking my two favorite golf vlogging groups.
buttery tempo is my new phrase
Been trying it out and it's real buttery. Has helped my driving without killing too much distance, shockingly.
Haha my first birdie was ruined by a covid cup so I know the feel there! Luckily got another one 5 holes later!
Lincoln playing from the blues? What a badass!
"... known as 'The Devil's Throat'. I don't wanna know how it got that name."
Leave it up to Utah to try to scare you straight with the religious undertones. ;)
I am proud to say on hole 15 at sand hollow I hit my tee shot in that same fescue area that Erik did. I was probably hitting from the same shot as you just in February, 8 months ago
Always love the content EAL! Watch as soon as it comes out. Take a long break from stressful workday to watch it in one go. Just the story, dialogue, subtle music, narration, always perfect!
Putt is good!
What shoes are you wearing here Erik? Love the vids and looking forward to part 2!
I live in Saint George definitely a golfers paradise out here! Awesome vid
Too many ads
Putt is good
Very flat green on 1. …..very very flat😄 2. Fairway… my god it looks so big… maby I’m just to much European 🤣
I loved playing The Ledges when I lived down there....many good times
What a great video man keep up the great content love this channel just received my winged paw hat I love it!
It’s amazing all of these courses! I had the chance to play at “The Ledges” golf course and it just took my breath away. No wonder why that is one of there favorite courses!
Very cool.
Welcome! I’m excited to see what holes you chose for the back 9. It would be a hard choice!
YOOO MY HOME!
