Phenomenal to watch. Mesmerising controlled aggression and fluidity with impeccable effortless style. So pleasing to watch. Such a shame never to have gotten an AMA title
thanks for that upload. seb had rickys number there shame injuries took its toll its one area that rc, really enjoyed some luck, not getting many big injuries, which is so easy to do.
Tortelli was AMAZING on that Honda. He was one of the very few that ever beat RC straight up in a outdoor moto. To my knowledge Reynard, Windham and Bubba were the only others to accomplish that?
Tortelli was certainly one to watch, but I honestly think that the reason why we never saw another RC/Tortelli battle after 2001-2002 was because Tortelli had the nerve to run the #13, which led to the bad luck (or WTF) moments from Tortelli.
To be fair Carmichael was about to up the level maybe 3 higher when he starts his world class fitness program in 01 with Aldon Baker, and to me the Kawasaki's that year looked all low to mid power like when Emig raced, as you can see Tortelli seemed faster at the end of the long straightaways. Tortelli was very fast and deserves alot of credit though, it seems that 2000 was his window of opportunity cause in 01 Carmichael closed it and locked it.
But 99% of the races they raced together RC beat Tortelli easily, and from 2001 to 2005 RC beat Tortelli each and every time, the only year Tortelli beat RC few times it was in 2000, RC first year in MX 250, RC won the championship easily by + 80 points
Earth 2020 yeah tortelli had bad starts and a lot of bad luck, in 2002 he was just as fast as Carmichael but he was starting way back and Carmichael wasn’t. Something he needed to figure out but didn’t.
@@wd840mxhighlights "in 2002 he was just as fast as Carmichael" ... 24 motos wins in 24 motos that year for RC, you can't say that Seb was faster as RC, but what means for your "faster", you talk about both during races & qualifyings?about bad luck Villopoto has some serious injuries in 2009 & 2010 and another one in 2012 but still managed to win six 450 titles, but I know that Seb was very fast, faster than Everts no doubt, and sometimes in 2000 faster than RC, it's like Reynard, he was sometimes faster than RC in 125 MX
Earth 2020 they ran same lap times in 2002 but Ricky was on point with his starts and gone by the time tortelli got into 2nd, tortelli was not faster tho. @@wd840mxhighlights The problem with your narration is young mx fans will believe that someone was better than RC in 2002 when in fact in won all 24 motos.. hope they will not try to watch all those motos to see some action between RC & Seb, because it's boring to watch RC dominate so much
@@fliarshypocritestothebones5698 Im not trying to take anything away from RC the guy was incredible im not trying to manipulate peoples outlook. The fact was Carmichael was the best in 2002 like you said 24 motos undefeated was insane, Tortelli was just as fast most of the time but couldnt put the whole package together to beat ricky that year.
Tortelli found grip were others didn't. A true world champ.
did not know he was on an RC level
One of the few that could beat RC straight up.
And he was doing that on a 1st gen aluminum frame!!
@@Wordtoyamom Hes one of the few that could beat RC and Everts straight up,hes all so one of the unluckiest riders ever to put a leg over a bike.

Thank you for share it. The last moto of MXON 2000 was terrific too..

Chadillac I believe Ferry did once or twice straight up.
@@wd840mxhighlights yes, I forgot about that! Once for sure at Budds Creek and maybe somewhere else?

2001 he had 2 good hero rides then faded off who is he?

MathewV21688 yep, it’s a shame he kept getting injured when he went to Suzuki. One of the most overlooked riders ever.
Tomac reminds me of tortelli fast in the out side corner's..⚡⚡🌠
Terry Wasisang they are the best at carrying momentum👌🏻
Because they were, watch the video this time.

The factory HONDAS were obviously much faster than anything on the track.
