How come Suni didn't return to Auburn to compete as NCAA? She was a standout at Auburn.
I think she finished her studies online while she was battling her kidney disease and training for the Olympics.
Does anyone know if Suni will be continuing elite gymnastics? I’m so excited that Shilese is! I hope she makes it to this year’s individual world championships along with hopefully Skye Blakely, Hezly Rivera, or Konnor McClain. Only two gymnasts can compete the all around in the qualification round at worlds this year so I’m sure the US will only bring two gymnasts and an alternate.
These Suni photos are old, right?
Love this video but suni is done haha 😅 if anything I could see her doing worlds 25 for that eponymous bar skill but more than likely she’s retired after her unbelievable comeback in Paris, a team gold and two individual medals is actually astounding when you consider she had basically less than 6 months to train the all around. Shilese however will absolutely be taking the all around gold in 2025 - Queen has unfinished business
depends who's chosen for the World Championships team in October is Konor still on the national team roster only 5 women are chosen for the team and then its usually the two highest scorers on each Apparatus make it to event finals my hopes for the Worlds team this year are Gabby Douglas Jade Carey Jordan Chiles Suni Lee & either Leanne Wong or Hezly Rivera Jade and Leanne both graduate from College in the spring Hezly has a long career ahead of her being in her late teens and is also Scheduled to compete in NCAA college Gymnastics for LSU tigers Jordan would have to take time from her Sr year at UCLA to compete at Worlds in October the pendulum is swinging back towards older Gymnasts as it was before it became a teen dominated sport in the late 1960s and mainly has been since for ex min age to compete in Sr international elite events like Worlds or The Olympics is 16 unless your on a waiver and the games happen a few months prior to your birthday such as Tasha Schwikert in 2000 competed in the Sydney Olympics 7 weeks before her 16th birthday though that was the only modern Olympics in which the US didn't win any individual event medals or individual all around and only won Bronze in team all around because China was disqualified for age falsification
