May fortuner 4x4 2009 model ako. 15 years na sya, pero same pa din lakas nya. Maintenance lang talaga para mag tagal. Saka yung availability ng pyesa nya, sobrang madali lang kumuha aftermarket. Unlike sa ford na units. Hirap kasi casa kadalasan kagaya mg fuel filter, gas filter, bushings, stabilizers etc..

Interesting mention on the battery needing to be replaced in 3 years. I have a 2014 Honda Civic. Bought it new and 9 years on I still have the original battery. I've googled signs for needing to replace the battery and I don't have any of those. Guess I'm just one of the lucky ones eh?
I had the same experience with my 2004 mx-5 miata turbo when I was still in the U.S. My first battery replacement was after 10 years, nainip na nga ako. I had the car for almost 19 years before I sold it to come back to Pinas. That was one hell of a nice car, I had so much fun driving it. I miss it now that I'm here sa Pinas and now driving a very boring 2023 Fortuner LTD😅. But in fairness I love my fortuner too❤😅
Reliability ang number 1 gusto ko s fortuner. Hindi mahalaga ang outlook at technology sa sasakyang ito,kasi mas inuuna nila kung ano ang basic na kailangan sa isang sasakyan. Availability ng parts ay isa pang maganda sa Toyota. Down side ng Toyota ay Mahal. (Imagine,mahal pa sa Ford Everest top of the line?)
I've also set my sights on the Fortuner for the same exact reasons that you pointed out but the 3rd row "fold up" system was the deal breaker for me. Just doesn't make sense to me. It takes up so much space and covers the back windows when folded up. Aren't they removable?

3rd row seat is one of the cons of toyota fortuner since its not flat folded but i think it can be removed if you want.
