I’m literally watching this while my husband puts our baby to bed. He does bedtime every night then comes out and does all the dishes while I unwind ❤️ good partners are a godsend
Yeah I saw Amy's swatch video too and it really got me. For some reason I never am convinced by the adept website photos, but really good swatch videos on RUclips convince me!
Shout out to Tyler! Dad's who are dads are everything. ETA I love both looks. And I agree, Adept is on it this year. They are one of only like 3 brands I haven't skipped anything from yet. 🤣 I've been passing on a lot lately.
I so enjoyed your soft mom tone. I know that's a bit odd. I also adored the packaging. I couldn't take the protective plastic cover because I don't want it to get all smudgy.
I mostly ordered the palette for the limited ed case, lol. I don't like blingy packaging either, but this was done in away I like it. I also like how it's shiny, but doesn't show fingerprints. I also like the texture (I don't like the sandpaper texture of Amy's palette). I also like that I can put ER shades in Adept cases. Def deserves a 6/5!! The only packaging that is on par with this is my ZeeSea blue Alice palette. I don't have too many Adept palettes bc their shimmers are too shimmery for my prefs, there aren't enough mattes, or their color stories aren't right for me - wrong undertone, too bright, etc. Plus, their palettes are not cheap to be buying willy nilly. I was very tempted by the Samarian Sunset, but passed after mulling it over a few months. I bought this and the Amy Loves palette together bc my work and lifestyle makes it so that I tend to wear more neutrals, even though I love color. Lately, I've been exploring how I can make neutrals more exciting. Neutral-leaning multichromes, sparklier neutrals, and subtle colorful touches are what I'm trying now. I like how Ardra can go from neutral glam to flower explosion colorful in one palette. 🌸💐🌺 I wish Adept had sent their PR earlier for those wanting to see more swatches and looks to think it over. There aren't enough vids yet and their recent email says they are already low stock. I bought mine half on a leap of faith. I like it so far: neutral, yet blingy shimmers and holochromes with many being semi-transparent, which allows them to transform depending on the underlying matte shade. The marbled multichromes are a great pop of fun. The swatches that convinced me were by @Beauty and the Frizz. I would say from swatching it, the IRL swatches looked in btwn hers and Amy's. For some reason, Beauty and the Frizz's swatches were really colorful. I wonder if the shifts pop on deeper skintones better or if I need to be in the right lighting (I've seen them in fluorescent and 5pm afternoon lighting so far). Thank you to Tyler! 🙏☺
Okay wait you’ve blown my mind saying the ensley reign shades fit in the adept pans. You might’ve just given me an idea for what I want to bring on my work trip next week!
@@Katelynhousemakeup My pleasure! Yeah, I realized the pan sizes were the same shape, so gave it a try! I took out all my Heather Austin shades out of that Adept palette and made a curated version of Cold Moon. They fit perfectly. X) If you swap the magenta and purple shades from Ardra w peachy shades from ER Groovy, you'll have a really blingy peachy neutral palette!
Im on the fence with this palette. You did a beautiful look .I love Star Trek too and had to look up the episode . I actually watched it on Paramount+ or Disney. Thank you for this review.
We were just rewatching Next Generation so I saw the Ardra episode a couple months ago. I think is so funny.... I love when she does this.... until I see all the reviews on her palettes and no one knows the pronunciation. 😂
@@Lynnonymous I get so disappointed in myself for not knowing the pronunciation because I’ve watched the show! Multiple times 😂😂😂 I’ve chatted with the owner in DMs about Deep Space 9 which I will own as the one Star Trek series I haven’t watched more than once and it was forever ago but geez. I think there’s so much lore in the series she could release a bunch of palettes and I won’t know the references of all of them 😂
I’m a MASSIVE TNG fan, and it took me over a week to realize it was a TNG reference. 😂 I thought it must have been TOS. BUT I will say, the two shades on the left side of the bottom row are two random Klingon character names (one from a TOS movie and one from a DS9 episode) that have NOTHING to do with Devil’s Due! It has been driving me crazy trying to figure out why they are there! Everything else is directly from the Devil’s Due episode. I actually emailed Adept to ask to ask, but they never replied, so I might have offended them…. 😬 My boyfriend bought me the Sumerian Sunset for Valentine’s Day, and I was SO excited! But he said those two shades would probably annoy you, and as much as I hate to admit it because I’d take any excuse for pretty, sparkly eyeshadow, he’s probably right. Lol. So probably not getting this one…. Adept is out of my budget for regular purchasing, unfortunately...
@@Katelynhousemakeup I had to look it up. 😉 Once I realized Legend of Ardra was from that TNG episode, I was able to place the rest of the names, except those two, so I googled them, only to find out they were completely unrelated. (I’m a TNG/Voyager girl, so I’m pretty limited with my TOS/DS9 or newer knowledge) Only connection I can think of is that the planet was first discovered by the Klingons in general, but that’s it. It’s driving me batty to be honest! 😂
@@Katelynhousemakeup I actually did a deeper dive and found that Torak WAS mentioned in the episode as one of the mythical devil figures from another planet! So that just leaves Kruge….I might have to watch the episode to see if it’s buried somewhere! 😲
@@Katelynhousemakeup It really is…. Sumerian Sunset had a lot of tiny, single episode references, but they were all at least a focal point of an episode or a recurring thing. (I had to look up Praxis, due to it being a TOS movie reference, although it sounded familiar) My boyfriend struggled to place a lot of them, but I’m the bigger Trekkie. Lol. This palette is just WILD how obscure these references are! Once I made the connection, (over a week later!) I could place all but three. (assuming 2367 is the star date of course!) Mendora sounded familiar, but I had to search to confirm it was one of the devil references. Torak didn’t even come up in the search, and I literally just placed it by actually reading the script! And Kruge is still a mystery, as it’s not in the script at all! That level of detail is mind boggling!
I was really interested in this one until I saw so many bad reviews of the super emollient shimmers. I hate those kinda shimmers with a passion. They crease so badly on me and wear terribly throughout the day. Honestly I wish they would stop using these kinda formulas...but I do see some people loving them so each their own. Your look was beautiful.
That’s totally fair!! I am curious about how bad that shade will crease on me if I wear it all day. It’s super beautiful but I usually struggle with that formula too!

Thank you!! It’s so hard with these limited edition palettes because you feel more pressure to get it even if it isn’t perfect for you!
I've been wanting to try adept but haven't yet. Either this one or the cyborg choir are the ones I'm interested in!
Personally I would vote cyborg choir unless you like neutrals more!
I really want this palette 😊
It’s a beautiful one!
I want this so bad. The only reason I was holding off is the 3 bright mattes. I will bite the bullet and order it.
I liked the mattes in this one, but they did stain my lids! Not the worst staining ever but still noticeable
Shout out Tyler! ❤🎉
