"You're tighter than two coats of paint?" "Huh?" "Well we had to be, all we got was the neck of a chicken to eat" That old farmer saw a thing or two in his day.
Steve took it to the next level mama! "You'll never take that plastic off". Like talking to his grandfather priceless. Good Job Steve helping out that guy.
Steve, don’t press any numbers when you get those calls. They never remove you from the calling list when you press to be removed, it just verifies to them that they have reached a working number and they will bombard you with more calls.
24:18 an old plug valve surprised it even turns often the grease inside (to allow the valve to rotate freely and make a gas tight seal) dries out and they lock up solid. The dried up grease can also cause them to leak gas both internally and externally looks like that one was still in decent shape.
Good job Steve, I used to do service and repairs on industrial gas dryers at the local university but the amount of driers we did in a year didn’t warrant the cost of keeping up the gas dryer part of my gas certificates in Scotland the certificates I have costs about £1500 every 5years and you just pick the elements you want to do for example boilers fires cookers gets expensive.
Steve, excellent job as usual. On the metal piping for the dryer exhaust, I just use the metal tape ( to connect to dryer itself) instead of screws. It works great and no worries of lint collection.
Hey Steve I have a question on sweating copper joints......I can sweat hvac joints fantastically but when it comes to residential water copper sweatin but I always seem to have issues with leaks...I know when doing hvac brazing the heat takes care of the dirt and contaminates on the pipe..is the cleaning and flux critical due to the lower temps of the flame.....great work on the videos bud
No Taj Mahal there. The Taj Mahal was in yesterday’s video! This piping might be too fancy for your house. I almost pissed myself when you told him that!
I wouldn't by a front loading washer machine. That's like having a shower pan put in side ways. Water goanna leak out mama, water gonna leak out. Continue the video....
experience, reputation, knowledge;trust. If that was my father,i would want Steve on my dads house, because he is going to tell you straight;whats goin on.priceless.In california, some techs,so called, cant speak english, have to call dispatch, most of not served an apprentiship program.Jus sayin mamma, its your call, but thats my dad your callin on.
@steven lavimonier The dryer vent must be hard pipe smooth wall inside no screws on all dryers electric included International feul gas code 614.6 614.6.1
Steve, what is the product name or number on the 3M "steve-approved" tape that you used on the vent? You have me laughing when you put the spam call on speaker phone...! That's why I stopped giving my phone or address info at when asked while checking out... They either send junk mail/calls/email... or of course sell the info to others...
To Steve, or anybody. I have close to the same setup, except the dryer is electric and a gas water heater sharing a first floor room. Every time the washer runs, sometime during its cycle it knocks out the pilot on the water heater. It starts right up again, but i am unsure why. I assume its something with the thermocouple. Any ideas would be helpful.
I used to get a lot of those credit card scam calls on my cell phone. I started messing with the off shore callers. Sometimes I got out right nasty when no one was around. I always let them hear that I knew that they were scammers. Touch wood, the calls have lessened.
he told me like 3 years ago he had 300 grand in his closet got stolen he thinks it we his house keeper that stole it now he buries in in the back yard . true story
Probably doesn't believe in banks. That's the depression engrained in him. Not a bad thing to have a little cash squirreled away in a really safe space, but no one should ever keep that much out side of a bank.
I love talking to old timers like him. Best generation we ever had that new how to work hard without complaint.
I used to love working on Old Farm Equipment for old timers listen to the stories about back in the day simply amazing some of the stories
"You're tighter than two coats of paint?" "Huh?" "Well we had to be, all we got was the neck of a chicken to eat" That old farmer saw a thing or two in his day.
Ha ha ha love the way you have lots of good banter with your customer Steve good video mate
Great job Steve, I would have thrown away everything on that shelf you were working next to...LOL.

There's an old vintage bottle of Dupont Rain Dance car wax. That stuff was the best.

Nice install,Steve Lav.
Old school DuPont Rain Dance wax. That was good stuff.
plastic leather cleaner. Comes from plastic cows I guess. Yes, rain dance was good. used it on my 79 black chevy truck when I was a youngster lol
that was the best at the time....used rain dance on my 72 nova...
Steve, I've seen you work in some real, "crusty" cellars. But this one really takes the cake.
Extra charge for the cobwebs lol !!! Ooooooooooo momma next level next level !!!
It’s amazing how people live as long as they pay that’s all that matters.

Amazes me the places Steve goes to. I would be wearing a Haz Mat suit in some of them. And some are just plain filthy!!
rude dog!
Just curious, no gas flex line allowed in your state or is it preference?
Needs new house to go with new washer and dryer!
They no longer make gas tankless boilers? Do they still make oil fired tankless boilers?
Stevens one liners are up there with Arnold and Stallone's movie lines
I thought you were only supposed to use FlexTape to seal two halves of a boat together?!
Good Job Steve
Hey Steve what do you use for gas leak detector solution
if My 80% comfor maker's heat exchanger cracks.. I'll get another 80% furnance.. keep it simple and out the normal smoke pipe.
I wouldn't by a front loading washer machine. That's like having a shower pan put in side ways. Water goanna leak out mama, water gonna leak out. Continue the video....
how does he do it how did he not burn that house down doing that soldering up on the wall there

@steven lavimonier
The dryer vent must be hard pipe smooth wall inside no screws on all dryers electric included
International feul gas code
614.6
614.6.1

Never turn a timer backwards Steve!

Water heater needs makeup air, and the dryer pulls enough of it away that the pilot light is starved for air and goes out.
if thats the case, what can i do to fix it?
Steven Freeman Your going to have to:
A. put the drier somewhere else
B. install a vent for make up air
C. install an electric hot water heater
I used to get a lot of those credit card scam calls on my cell phone. I started messing with the off shore callers. Sometimes I got out right nasty when no one was around. I always let them hear that I knew that they were scammers. Touch wood, the calls have lessened.
You'll do it someday
You'll never do it LOL
When you get these calls don’t press anything could be a scam Steven
22:49 -- WRONG!!!!!!
Next level mama next level

Aluminum tape, sold everywhere
@@djblock215 not in maine hard to find lol. you ask for it and they have no idea haha num
ex hung me out to dry! lol!
Did the farmer have a daughter???
Plastic Leather the good old days
I miss Baby The Dog.
Flex tape as seen on tv
Works in tv land. But
Seals nothing in real life
Answer those calls "911 what's your emergency"
that's good but they probably wouldn't have a sense of humour and send the cops on you for impersonating the 911 system...
Don't press 2!!! Then they put your number in the 'Live Person' list.
Is this the same guy who had the duck stuck in the smoke pipe?
Steve leave that old man alone ragging on his house
Ain’t no Taj Mahal would be a good shirt.
i'd buy that for a dollar
Install Truecaller on your phone, it will block most spam calls.
That old timer probably has $250K hidden in his mattress.
he told me like 3 years ago he had 300 grand in his closet got stolen he thinks it we his house keeper that stole it now he buries in in the back yard . true story
I was only off by $50K.
Probably doesn't believe in banks. That's the depression engrained in him. Not a bad thing to have a little cash squirreled away in a really safe space, but no one should ever keep that much out side of a bank.
That's just what the perps thought in the movie, "In Cold Blood."
I keep $5, and a emergency need donut under the seat of the plumbing truck .
Amana. I did not hear that brand name before.
Yeah they last forever, my grandpa still has a 27 year old dryer from Amana, and it’s still going.
Can I send you some doggy makeup for baby dog to try. She will get all the boy dogs after her.
Steve's not wearing his Apple Watch, what happened?
it died
Front load machines are junk , top load with a big stainless steel tubs are workhorses
Why you do not use shark bite?
shark bite is for someone that does not know how to solder ...i do not need them at all i do the real deal ..
steven lavimoniere you’re are the real deal
Why would someone with years of experience with solder, before shark bite hit the market use it.👎
Or you could buy some random pieces and solder them, till you feel comfortable soldering. Then do the repair. How I learned.👊💪👍😎
Hey Steve as always love your videos what camera are you using?
Plastic leather! What the heck is in that jar. I’m the view when your doing the gas line
Probably something made in NJ in the 70’s that worked very well, but has since been banned.
Why does he wear gloves? He ain't workin on the Taj Mahal !!!!!!
Poor installation on gas line
P
You're so mean to that old guy. He was born in 1929. There are not very many people alive from 1929.
thats how we joke up here in the north get over your issues
I didn't know, now I do. :-) No issues.
