I got my C100 as birthday gift from my wife 2 days ago. Thanks for the great video, I could not set up without you. Honestly, quality of the product is beyond my expectations, love it.
Thank you so much for this! I got one of these second hand and tried to set it up and thought it was broken. Followed your unboxing and it's now working perfectly! So thank you, this is amazing, you're wonderful. Now I can enjoy my records in style!
Seems like Crosley is actually starting to care about making good products rather than just occupying the bottom of the barrel end of the market. This is really good for the hobby in general.
I just recently got this record player as a gift and wasn’t really understanding the instructions. Found this fund this video and helped a ton thanks for making it.
Crosley was a fine name a long, long time ago. They have been slapping quality brand names on cheaply made products. Magnavox, Philco, etc. But maybe Crosley is FINALLY putting out a quality product again. Great review!
Thank you for this GREAT review and "how to" video. I am waiting for my C100 for next week and with this information, I guess I am ready to receive it. Again, thank you.
It's good to see Crosley make a good piece of equipment. I hope people give them a chance to show that Crosley doesn't make only garbage. It is yet a clone of the Audio Technica Lp 120 which was a clone of the Technics but, hey why not. Equal quality and looks at a good price..
dsflixfan1 Almost all of the “technics clones” are made by a Chinese company called Hanpin. They’re not all terrible, some are pretty good even, but none of them stand up to a real technics
I really appreciate your video of the Crowley C 100 turntable . I think it's a phenomenal value , so much I think I've got to have one myself . I was blown away by the sound . Thanks so much for the review , well done
Record-ology By the strict definition of the word clone, no, its not a clone. It is the business practice of taking a design and changing it just enough for it to be legally sellable.

Followed this all the way through to set mine up and I am so happy with it! You did a great job explaining. THANK YOU!!! I wouldn't have gotten by on the instruction manual alone.
One thing this unit has that none of the online stores say is, it is AC and not DC. I hate those DC power supplies. I have been dragging my feet with buying this record player because I am fussy with quality. On my older stereo combo record players the weighted arm helps to play lightly scratched records. Good video, it is helping me to make the step of buying one.

Here in Germany you basicly don‘t get Crosley turntables on the internet or in any stores. But last week i bought a DUAL DT 250. DUAL is the German Crosley. An old german brand that has tradition in manufacturing record players. You‘ll probably now them. What really suprises me is that the DT 250 seems to be exactly the same turntable that you have: Everything looks completely similar. All the switches, the tonarm with cartridge, just everything. (Except the brand on the player of course) But all in all i am super happy with it. I‘m just a student and i can‘t afford one of these 1000€ turntables. And the DUAL just cost me 99€ here in Germany( about 110-115 $ i think). The sound you get for that money is awesome !!! :D
I fully get the limited budget! You can only do what you can do! Dual is a great brand - we covered one a couple months ago! Great German engineering! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

Nothing wrong with a cheaper belt drive just for playing records. I've had direct drive and belt and i can honestly tell you ive never heard any rumble or noise from the direct drive. After I re-watched this video after watching your review of the Victrola Pro, this TT seems head and shoulders above the Victrola. Primarily because of the Cruiser, Crosley has gotten a bad name that they don't always deserve. I've learned to take each Crosley product (like any product) on its own merits. But as long as we have the vinyl snobs and others who think that they're "experts" on all things vinyl like TTs, we're always going to have nay sayers to anything Crosley. And that stinks!!!
And to top it off - LOTS AND LOTS of people actually think that Crosley is secretly making record players and trying to 'pass them off' under other brand names lol.....
Alright, so this video is 2 years old. I don't know if you'll even see this comment. Would you suggest this or the Audio Techinica ATLP60? How has this held up over a couple years? Any thoughts?
I always read ALL comments! Thanks for watching! This is a great unit and so is the lp60 but both are very different. Both made by Hanpin Turntables (like the Lp120 series and others) If you want a manual tt go with the c100 if you like automatic and a much smaller footprint go with the new lp60x! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
hi, i find the design to be somewhat similar to the AT-LP120XUSB, but this one is for a much more affordable price. in durability, which one do you think i would be better off getting in the long-run? would this turntable last me a long time or do you think I’d be better off putting in the money for the AT-LP120XUSB?

Yes the C100 is belt drive and the C200 is DD - I would love to review it one of these days. Same with the LP120 series (there are multiple LP120's now) all made by the same company. Thank you for watching!
This seems like a good competitor to the audio technica lp3, or somewhere in the middle between the lp3 and lp120. As I recall, the LP3 is a belt drive, but features an adjustable counterweight (instead of a spring) like the lp120. However, it does not feature the pitch adjust.
i’m going to buy this model secondhand for $75 (almost brand new) tomorrow or the next day, i’m super excited. it’ll be my second turntable/player, i’ve had an Imperial Party-Time Model 100 from the 70s since i was like eight years old lol i don’t have speakers to use though, any suggestions?
Thanks for the video. Helped me put mine together. After about two weeks, I now notice a random, occasional tapping noise during the playing of the records. After some inspection, I believe the noise is coming from the pulley on the drive motor. That pulley does move up and down slightly. If I lift it up and let go, it makes the exact sound that I notice during the playing of the records. So I think the drive belt is occasionally lifting that pulley and dropping it down. Is this normal? Can I correct it?
This is a really nice turntable built almost exactly like the Audio-Technica turntable is and the techniques crossley in the past has got a bad name for their self but I think crossley with this turntable and the c200 are trying to correct that mistake and produce a quality product this turntable looks like a very nice turntable and I would like to have one because I am not a crosley hater
attaching the belt is the only thing I hate about turntables. I'd been considering getting an LP 120 because it's direct driven, but you raise a good point about vibrating and motor noises.
renters ruined my needle and i need to replace it. i'm not finding any videos online for this exact model and am scared to break the needle trying to replace it myself following instructions for other models. any advice? i'd prefer to do it myself
Hi there, just watched your video, pretty cool. I have had a C100 for 3yrs or so, had no issues setting up beltdrive, tonearm etc it has played perfectly. However i had to replace the stylus just recently and reset tonearm and now have major issues playing records, some play fine and others are distorted. Very frustrating to be honest. Just wondering if you have any tips or advice on this issue and how to fix
@@Recordology yeah, have reset tonearm 100 times and cartridge is aligned, never experienced this before, i bought the new stylus online from overseas, could it possibly be the wrong one as i cant understand why ut plays some records and not others
toad A used Technics SL 1200 in any generation is mega light years better than any Crosley ever made! Especially the MK2 and up generations are built like tanks and with minimal care will last forever! They will cost you more. My MK2 cost me $700 but it was in like new condition and the seller packed it with love like it was fresh from the factory! Also they usually do not come with a cartridge so that is extra and it will require a very detailed setup getting alignment, tracking force and anti skate dialed in! Once that is done with a decent cartridge, and paired with a decent system, you are rewarded with amazing quality! I amaze people who come to my home. They never thought a record could sound so great! That said, for beginners, this turntable featured in this video doesn’t seem a bad choice to introduce yourself to records. The great thing about this hobby is there is literally no limit to how good your music can sound on vinyl. For many of us it’s been a journey that just keeps rewarding!
Thanks for the video! I got my C100 last week and I couldn't be happier with it!! One question I have though that I didn't see you talk about in this video was the cartridge alignment. Does this model need to be adjusted with one of those protractor type tools or is it already done? My records play wonderfully on it after I set the tone-arm and anti-skate correctly. Just curious if I need to anything more. Thanks again for your time!
Just bought this turntable... me seeing the video is almost 2 years old is is still worth getting and wont damage vinyl like the crosley cruiser does according to others?.
Do you have any recommendations for a "narrow" turntable? I have a narrow shelf with 11.5" of depth that I am trying to fit on. I have a low quality unit there now, but would like to get something better like this or the C8. Thanks!
I saw this review looking for a new Turntable. I liked it and I was lucky enough to get a brand new never used from a guy by 50$. He bought it but he need the Bluetooth one. So was a great deal. My concerns are 2: There are holes for speed adjustment in the bottom but looks like there is nothing there, just the holes. This is not big deal because you can pitch speed depending record weight and weight stabilizer. My biggest concern and I don't know if this is mine or all of them, the anti-skate when I use a plain no tracks record looks like do nothing. Any one has experimented the same? This is a great turntable if you can's spent a lot of money.
Have you noticed the little hole back on the right side on the player, that's for an extra headshell, (some people have more than one headshell with different Pickup an stylus for som reason) so now you know:))
It kinda looks like it, but that is the only way it is similar. And I mean "kinda". Reminds me of those old Ford adds comparing a Ford Granada to a Mercedes. Yeah. They both have four tires and are the same color.
are you able to connect the RCA's in the back of the turntable unit to a 2x female RCA to 3.5mm female adapter? and then plug in a 3.5mm male aux jack to that into the back of a plugged in Bose speaker.... would that work? and if so, would you be going through the phono or line input to do so?
interesting......lets see here....this has a built in preamp so the signal would be line level - so I think it should work......try it out and let me know! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Record-ology can confirm this set works wonderfully! I actually ended up getting the C200 - but basically the same unit, nevertheless. Incredible sound.
Ahhh good question (HARD QUESTION) both great TTs made by Hanpin. I love the LP60 for its full auto and great sound, and I love the c100 for its full manual and great sound. So I guess its up to what motivates you. I can say the c100 is huge - but a lot of fun! Also, lookup the Crosley T400 - its their version of the LP60.
This table was made at the Audio technical plant in China. Several technics turntable clones are made there to order. I have the Audio technical lp120 These tables are not based, pretty good for beginners. A great way to get into the hobby. Crosley also had several models made by Project and these project tables seem better made. Nice to see Crosley trying for a higher line of table.
So it comes with a preamp built in, does that mean you don't need any amplifier and go straight to speakers, or do i need an amp aswell. Thanks for a great and comprehensive video.
Thank you! You will need either a set of powered speakers that can take RCA cable connections or an amplifier with RCA cable connection. Thank you for watching and commenting! Have a VERY Merry Christmas!
I have the suitcase turntable from Crosley and I am NOT IMPRESSSED. Then someone recommened this while at a CD/GAME Exchange. I was biased because of the quality of the suitcase. This seems to be in a different league.....
I heard you state twice that some records are recorded at an “off speed”. I’m not clear what you are talking about there!Whatever the record sounds like at the recommended playback speed is the way it’s supposed to sound. That is the way it’s designed to sound! Now if you are talking about “beat matching”, that is an entirely different issue. The slider on DJ turntables such as the Technics SL 1200 MK2 is a tool for the DJ to create a seamless sounding experience when transitioning from one song to another. This process necessarily alters the pitch ever so slightly so that the divergent beats of the different recordings can match. This has the effect of an unbroken pace for the club or dance event. That doesn’t mean either record was recorded wrong. The only reference for single record home listening is always the recommended speed!
Me encanta... mucha gente le hara el feo solo por ser Crosley pero objetivamente este modelo si compite contra un modelo sofisticafo de marcas celebres, Además que cuesta menos.
I got excited upon the opening minutes of the video, until I saw the underside of the platter. I instantly know it is belt drive. Sorry, for me turntables like these should only be direct drive. It is basically designed originally for djs. Belt driven turntables wont cut it. YOu are better off with the AUdio Technica ATLP120. But if Crosley released a direct drive version of this turntable design, then let's check it out!
Thank you for watching! The C-100 is indeed belt driven which is great for motor noise isolation. They do make a direct drive version which is the C-200. As for the LP120 that is made by the same company that makes the C-100 and C-200.
Actually no! The LP-120 and C-100 come out of the factory of a company called Hanpin turntables. There is significant variation between each of them and collectively with the techniques SL 1200. They are definitely inspired by the overall layout, but have significant variations.
hi i am a newbie on this can the needels on this be changed to a more hi fi or high end option? like an upgrade? Also do anyone has any idea as to how good is the warranty on this and custorme service ? thanks in advance

i’m going to buy this model secondhand for $75 (almost brand new) tomorrow or the next day, i’m super excited. it’ll be my second turntable/player, i’ve had an Imperial Party-Time Model 100 from the 70s since i was like eight years old lol
i don’t have speakers to use though, any suggestions?
Trying to choose between the c100 (belt drive) and c200 (direct drive). What would you recommend?
I have not yet tried the c200 but I think either would be great. Generally I like the idea of a belt drive tt.
I wonder if the anti skating mechanism is as off as it is on the LP120, would have liked to see that.
Not sure - it does like to 'skate' a tad when you place the stylus at the very outer edge. Thank you for watching!
That tends to be more of a cartridge problem, not the turntable. I discovered years ago that sometimes you have to "tweak" the anti skate setting.
The anti-skating mechanism works as long as you place the stylus closer to the inner/outer edge.
Otherwise it does skate.
Awesome - welcome aboard! Thanks for watching and commenting!
It’s about time you showcase a real turntable on your channel. Great video!
Caleb Caleb Caleb...we have reviewed so many real TTs! :) Check out our more recent videos! Thank you for watching!
attaching the belt is the only thing I hate about turntables. I'd been considering getting an LP 120 because it's direct driven, but you raise a good point about vibrating and motor noises.
Yes....isolating the motor from the turntable and therefore the stylus is the best thing about a belt.
Still easier than replacing a belt on a cassette deck
Excelent video, I'm going to buy a new turntable, wich one do you recommend between this C100 or the AT-LP60X ?
Both equal in terms of sound.....it comes down to your preference of automatic or manual operation.
renters ruined my needle and i need to replace it. i'm not finding any videos online for this exact model and am scared to break the needle trying to replace it myself following instructions for other models. any advice? i'd prefer to do it myself
Search my channel for replacing a white tip stylus.
Make sure the cartridge is aligned and the tone arm weighted properly.
@@Recordology yeah, have reset tonearm 100 times and cartridge is aligned, never experienced this before, i bought the new stylus online from overseas, could it possibly be the wrong one as i cant understand why ut plays some records and not others
What brand is your speaker? Does the turntable need a amplifier?
Crosley S100 - they are great! This turntable can plug right into them! amzn.to/306TNcF
@@Recordology thanks, it help a lot. I bought a passivity speaker for c100 and it doesn't work well.
Crosley C100: Hey can I copy your homework?
Technics SL1200: Ya sure but change a little so that it doesn't look obvious that you copied.
toad A used Technics SL 1200 in any generation is mega light years better than any Crosley ever made!
Can you turn this system into a wireless set up with these speakers (I accidentally purchased the wrong turntable)
Should be preset just fine out of the box.....enjoy!
Looks Good. Very enjoyable 👍
Does it have a built in preamp
Yes indeed....
I wonder if i can connect that turnarble into my Pioneer amplifier with EQ?
I would say yes.....
Just bought this turntable... me seeing the video is almost 2 years old is is still worth getting and wont damage vinyl like the crosley cruiser does according to others?.
Its a great unit - no damage......and neither does the cruiser actually.....
Do you have any recommendations for a "narrow" turntable? I have a narrow shelf with 11.5" of depth that I am trying to fit on. I have a low quality unit there now, but would like to get something better like this or the C8. Thanks!
Hmmm perhaps the Marley, or possibly the lp60? Great question - the dimensions of each should be available online.
What’s the difference between this and the K100 sold on Urban Outfitters?
The K-100 is the C-100 with the speakers included....its a bundle.
Have you noticed the little hole back on the right side on the player, that's for an extra headshell, (some people have more than one headshell with different Pickup an stylus for som reason) so now you know:))
Yes! I use that on my LP120 frequently!
It looks very similar to the AT LP120. How would you say it compares?
Great question - I haven't played with the LP120 yet but this is similar and made by the same company (Hanpin.) Thanks for watching and commenting!
It kinda looks like it, but that is the only way it is similar. And I mean "kinda". Reminds me of those old Ford adds comparing a Ford Granada to a Mercedes. Yeah. They both have four tires and are the same color.
C200 would be a better comparison but the tonearms are very different.
Hahhahahahaha Keep in mind that these two tables literally roll out of the same factory.
are you able to connect the RCA's in the back of the turntable unit to a 2x female RCA to 3.5mm female adapter? and then plug in a 3.5mm male aux jack to that into the back of a plugged in Bose speaker.... would that work? and if so, would you be going through the phono or line input to do so?
interesting......lets see here....this has a built in preamp so the signal would be line level - so I think it should work......try it out and let me know! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Record-ology will do. I believe this is a pretty common adapter set up so I have no reason to believe it wouldn’t work
Very good - I just emailed you as well. Let me know.
Record-ology can confirm this set works wonderfully! I actually ended up getting the C200 - but basically the same unit, nevertheless. Incredible sound.
Please tell me what to choose Audio-Technica lp60 or Crosley c100?
Ahhh good question (HARD QUESTION) both great TTs made by Hanpin. I love the LP60 for its full auto and great sound, and I love the c100 for its full manual and great sound. So I guess its up to what motivates you. I can say the c100 is huge - but a lot of fun! Also, lookup the Crosley T400 - its their version of the LP60.
You can’t adjust the counterweight or the cartridge on the lp60 I would go with the c100
You can upgrade the cartridge on this Crosley but the LP60, I don’t think you can.
This table was made at the Audio technical plant in China. Several technics turntable clones are made there to order. I have the Audio technical lp120
These tables are not based, pretty good for beginners. A great way to get into the hobby. Crosley also had several models made by Project and these project tables seem better made. Nice to see Crosley trying for a higher line of table.
Close - but both AT and Crosley use Hanpin Turntables Company - good stuff though!
whats the difference between the Crosley C100 and the Crosley K100 ?? It looks the same on Amazon .. do you happen to know the difference?
Good question - the K100 is simply the C100 bundled with BT speakers.
Record-ology Thank you so much for answering my question! I like to double check, haha! Have a great day! :)
You as well thank you!
can you use this turntable with out a speaker? because i do not own one
Tone arm height can be adjusted?
My Lab-430 dust cover has rubber feet on the front corners. A very nice feature for a 30+ old dust cover from a Radio Shack Realistic product.
Realistic products were pretty dang good!
I just got my C100 after so long that I wanted one!! One question: is there a risk that the on/off switch damages or wears out over time?
Hmmmm never happened to me. Congrats on the new tt!
Very Nice. I'll tell you a Secret. The Crosely and Audio Technica turntables are made in the same place some where in China.
Yup at Hanpin Turntables. Many of them anyway.
you saved me from throwing away the accessories omg thank you
Do you happen to know how long the included RCA cable is? Just wondering just in case I need to buy a longer one.
That would be 3` Thank you for watching!
THAT LOOK GREAT
Very nice! I can see myself upgrading to this unit! Does it have auto return? Great video!
Its a great table......full manual however. Thank you for watching!
Great video i have a Technis sl-b2 but gets older and i want to change it. It really helps me to consider buy this Crosley thanks. (y)
Awesome thank you for watching!
Yes t these Crosley turntables are good
Great review. What model speakers.
amzn.to/2YP9Ebj HIGHLY RECOMENDED!
I have the suitcase turntable from Crosley and I am NOT IMPRESSSED. Then someone recommened this while at a CD/GAME Exchange. I was biased because of the quality of the suitcase. This seems to be in a different league.....
Wish one u recommend this one or the c6
I like this due to the manual controls but both are awesome....
I am wishing to buy it online. Can it be operate on 230 V/50 Hz. supply? Please inform in your replay
Good question....does anybody know?
Just referring to the ability to make sure a 33 or 45 is spinning accurately per the strobe.
Me encanta... mucha gente le hara el feo solo por ser Crosley pero objetivamente este modelo si compite contra un modelo sofisticafo de marcas celebres, Además que cuesta menos.
Convenido. Muy buen comentario. ¡Gracias por ver!
I don't know if this is a boon or a bane for Technics. When the design patent for the SL1200 expired just recently, many copied the design.
They did.. It's the c200, he even said so.
It looks like an AT lP-120 which is a copy of an SL-1200....
Isn't that just a rebranded Audio Technica?
Actually no! The LP-120 and C-100 come out of the factory of a company called Hanpin turntables. There is significant variation between each of them and collectively with the techniques SL 1200. They are definitely inspired by the overall layout, but have significant variations.
@@Recordology agree
Love mine!
Is this a direct drive or belt driven turntable
Belt drive...the c200 is very similar but dd.
hi i am a newbie on this can the needels on this be changed to a more hi fi or high end option? like an upgrade? Also do anyone has any idea as to how good is the warranty on this and custorme service ? thanks in advance
Welcome! :) This uses a standards based head shell so you can upgrade the cartridge and stylus easily - although the built in one is quite good! Warranty and Customer Service should be on par with competitors. Thank you so much for writing and commenting!
