WOW!!!!!!! This answered so many questions I’ve been having about lamenting to God, worship, and doubt. I’ve been a believer for so many years but I have wrestled with God. I’ve always had issues attending church especially the worship portion. I’d even show up late so I’d miss worship. It always felt fake or I felt I had to fake it. But I’ve realized it is a reverence to the lord and we don’t give reverence to someone by faking our feelings with toxic positivity. Lord wants us as we are, our hearts, our honesty. This was so beautifully explained. Thank you 💗

      Hi there
I am so deeply glad that this story could bring any clarity or meaningful journey into the topic of lamentation, worship, and doubt.
Thank you so much for sharing what you did - that is both vulnerable and brave. And relatable. I think there are many believers who wrestle with similar questions, but there is rarely an informed or listening community to understand or receive them.
And yes, as you said, so much of musical worship has become hijacked by toxic positivity, leaving people to feel they have to "fake it" or manufacture certain feelings.
Thank you for your honesty, your commitment to being real, and leaving behind such kind and encouraging words today. And thank you for being here at The House!
May his Shalom be with you.

Thank you for sharing your insight, this is a reminder to me that God meets me where I am. Even when it’s not all sunshine and roses. I can always come to him.

Thank you so much for listening and for sharing that reflection.
That is so true, that God meets you where you are, and doesn't need a positive spin on things. You are amazing and valuable, and thank you for your kind words.

This is such a blessing. I try to explain this to so many Christians today and they sum it up to lack of faith. Thank you for this

      Hi there
I'm so glad this story was a blessing. I know it's commonly misunderstood - and no wonder, since much of our culture recoils from lamentation and what it considers to be 'negativity'. Thank you for sharing and for listening.

Thank you for explaining something very important, it's tempting to sometimes think you just can't get being a good Christian right when you are not always doing well, and then to want to walk away because you just can't get it "right". Also the art work is beautifull🌼

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Yes, that temptation is very strong, isn't it. It's so sad that many factions of Christianity enforce this narrative too.
Thank you for listening, and we're so glad you enjoyed the art work.

Natalie this is so prophetic for me and this season in my life relating to doubt. I remembered this announcement of this shabbat. Yet I got to it a day later. My Sunday morning coffee with you and The House and our friend Hemen with psalm 88. It clarified a great deal to me. Thank you sweet lady of God. This profoundly helped us. God bless you. Keep it going. It really does help others. ❤❤❤

Natalie, this teaching gave me revelation. God has had me memorize pslam 88,55,44 and now 22. God revealed that these pslams are a true confession of our feelings. I too, struggled with my struggles lacked faith. And Doubt not... Mark 11/23. Still struggling. 11/21/24.

Quite helpful. I had been spending time reading the latter part of the first book of Chronicles and I was about to move on to continue with the Solomon saga in the second book. I could not move on because somehow, my summary on the musicians as described in chapters 15, 16 and 26 did not look complete. I had Asaph somehow clear, but Heman was getting lost among the total of 288 musicians [chapter 25] and missing the importance of Heman [a Kohathite?]. I found his Psalm 88 and searched for "A Maskil of Heman the Ezrahite." What a pleasant surprise your presentation. Thank You. [I guess I'll find Heman again during the dedication of Solomon's Temple]

Hi there. I'm so glad that this story could come as a sort of surprise along your journey through Chronicles. Thank you for sharing that, and thank you so much for listening. Heman is such a beautiful person in the story, and one of those under-appreciated characters.
