It can definitely save some time to tow vehicles in a convoy for these missions, and this definitely may be a strategic advantage on the more difficult maps where there is an increased risk of getting stuck. In Michigan and Alaska, I found that on average I was more likely to damage the vehicle being towed than I would if driving them separately, and as I've been trying to avoid damage as much as possible I've opted to only tow on the missions where it's necessary.

Yeah you absolutely can. Although you don’t have to be as careful when it comes to refuelling or damage
