Great job. Years ago I knew the man who wrote this song - Robert Scherman. He's passed on now, but I know some info about the original recording. Scherman started the Excelsior Records label in the early 1940's. He met Nat King Cole at the 331 Club in Los Angeles in 1943 and took Nat's trio into the recording studio that same year and recorded this song and 5 others. Among those 6 recordings was a tune written by Scherman that would be Nat's first big hit on Capitol Records - "All For You"
Hello Brian, In your other Video (The One O'Clock Lab Band Plays Yesterdays). You play with the same expression of Michel Bracker. Congratulations! Beautiful sound, expression. You used a mouthpiece Vanodren V16. Which model? Number? What reed? Best Thank you Lander-Brazil.
Grazie locasax!! Sorry for the very delayed response...dispiace! In this video I was using an Otto Link "Florida" from 1960's size 5* or .085 inch. (I still use this mouthpiece, but I have had it opened up to a Size 7 or .100 inch.) The reed...I cannot remember exactly! I believe it was a "Rico" Select Jazz 3 Hard OR a 4 Soft. Thank you for listening and for the kind words :) Grazie!
