You can duck out the way if you see them coming the shells typically travel over 700 metres per second so if your say 0.5 km or more away you do have time to duck. Howitzers were sometimes called crash booms because they travel faster than the sound of them so the explosion of them hitting is followed by the sound of them being fired.
Everybody would be talking about the CGI and how good it is but also think about the sound design for the movie, for example take the scene at 1:11 all the way to the end of the video, the trembling of the metal as the ammunition explosion is expanding it outward sounds fenomenal, as well as the sound when the hatches fly open due to the explosion and all that hellish fire bursts out is really amazing.

Honesty love these Russian war movies.. because the 'bias' always makes them go all out to make everything overtly glorious from Russian/Soviet perspective. It makes for an objectively awesome action movie, despite the lack in realism. I also agree that weatern movies have bias. It's just interesting to see how that bias manifests differently from other point of views.
But this film has something also similar to western films-it shows Russians as idiots fighting Remba-style. And Germans are so cute kind boys who seem didn't do all those warcrimes but just wanted to make friends

Excluding Panzer38t, It's probably during initial Offensive on moscow (Could be wrong) which. I don't think Panzer IV is the tank, since Is mainly used as a Support/Anti Infantry Tank, While Panzer III is the Main Tank for Head to Head engagement. Before it was upgrade to get the 7.5 cm kwk 40 (F2 Model)

@@ShrugginAround M5A3 has armour that is thin and shouldn't be relied upon. Use your speed and quick reload to dispatch enemies from the side or rear, a frontal attack is suicide. Some tanks are armoured enough that you simply can't break them with your gun, these include but are not limited to, StuH 42 G, KV-1, Matilda II, Valentine I, T-34, P40. The M4A3 (105) is the opposite to this. it has good armour for its BR, decent mobility and a great gun but terrible reload. If you can shoot it, you can kill it, no exceptions. The HE shell does well against anything as long as you can hit thin armour (like the roof), alternatively the HEAT shell with 100+ pen can deal with most enemies. Your armour (when angled) can protect against most guns 75mm or smaller. Don't rush into the enemy though as you have a slow turret traverse and a slow reload, and your shells sometimes don't do anything at all (typical for HEAT shells). Support your teammates and stay between short and medium range.
@@heinzguderian9269 no the track did not increase armor protection in a relevant way, as track pieces were not hardened armor composition steel alloy. the T34-85 frontal upper glacis would have had a thickness of 90mm. this shot was point blank, where the Panthers KwK42 firing the APCBC PzGr.39/40 would have around 140mm penetration vs RHa at 30°. The shot was downward angled, reducing the 60° slope of the frontal glacis to 40-50°. That shot would have gone through the front and would have ended somewhere in the Motor of the T34 killing the crew in the process. An APCBC projectile would also not just "bounce off" like that but the balistic cap and penetrator cap would have shattered if it was a glancing shot. If the used round was the APCR PzGr.41 it would just have punched through the front and exited the vehicle on the backside on that distance, the Penetration capability is almost double the armor of the T34-85 at that distance.

The panther fires only 7,5 cm shells and the T-34-85 driver hatch has basically the same effective armor as the panther frontal plate tho
A short 88 from a kilometer hitting the angled lower part of the 85mm variant T-34 can absolutely get deflected, my man.
