Pleased you enjoy the deck, my friend. Totally agree about the Man and Woman only cards, which is surprising for Monica, especially after reading her tarot book. You've made me love the deck all over again, I need to dig mine out. 😍
YES! Roman Dirge's Lenore. Monica's artwork absolutely is in a similar vein. It MADE my day that you know that comic (and the "Out of this World" intro theme reference)! I adore Monica's work and her tarot is one of my most favorite decks. I'm hardly familiar with Lenormand, but I couldn't pass this deck up. I also just got her Between the Worlds (love it...been working with it for all of January for ancestor readings).
Roman Dirge! I couldn't recall his name in the moment, how could I forget?! Haha, I loved Out of this World as a kid but not many people here in the UK seem to know what I'm talking about when I mention it. Glad you're also having a great time with the Between the Worlds oracle, I love that you're using it for ancestor readings, that seems like a perfect fit! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
@@lilpinkbear I am NEVER able to recall a name when I need it…however, at 3 in the morning I will absolutely remember. 😂 My cousin and I LOVED Out of this World. He has a replica of the dad’s cube! It has been amazing for ancestor work. I’m also finding it helpful as a step into reading Lenormand. Between the Worlds and…(see, now I’ve forgotten the name! 😂) that one pocket Oracle by the artist that does Deviant Moon. I’m sure you know which one….the name literally fell out of my head. Ugh! Anyhoo, that one I also really like.
I agree that it sucks there are only 2 people cards. Your video made it impossible to resist getting out my black and white indie copy --> it's called Monica Bodirsky's House of Shadows Oracle Deck, 3rd Edition. My copy is the size of playing cards, so I think it's smaller than your mainstream version. It has 6 additional cards: mandrake, lantern, hand, poppet, ghost, and ancestors!
Why, WHY is it that for me, Springtime is the time for Lenormand?? 🤔🤡How adorable to have both that and tarot! And yeah, what're the odds there'll be a dinky Edition next, for our Tableaux, yup... Edit: Uffle, pronounce Youffle = useful waffle. My life is about it😉 And: that Clover card has 4 of Pentacles vibes, whatyou think????
Oh that's interesting about spring and Lenormand because I always pick it up more around that time too...hmmm. Love Uffle! I must use it! Ooh, it DOES have 4 pents vibes.
Yeah, it's a shame because the deck is wonderful. I'd love to see another version in a mini size. At least I have smaller decks for practicing my tableaus.
You say you love neon yellow and you said before you taste colors, so what's the taste of neon yellow? There's a chain called Waffle House here but when I hear of it I think of you (Kelly's Waffle House--delicious waffles)! I have the deck but hearing your take is always special! Perhaps you camera's focus is a reflection of your brain fog (for which you have my sympathy, dear girl; my camera does that, too and my brain is rubbish!). Wonder if we could use man and woman cards to just represent traditional "feminine" traits and traditional "masculine" traits which are mixed into all of us in a wide variety of ways rather than chopping it into little versions of people as if we don't all contain that mix in some form? There's probably better words than man/woman, masculine/feminine to use, but really the varieties are infinite. Maybe a person card?
Neon yellow doesn't really taste like anything to me but it does feel warm. I would prefer just person cards myself but I know some people would also want the man and woman cards. I think options are always good so all ways people present/identify are covered. To me, it's not so much as chopping them into little versions of people as it is being inclusive. But yes, everyone contains a mix of traits but I feel gendering them is reductive and even harmful at times. It will be interesting to see how the Lenormand evolves. Thank you for watching Nancy.

It's probably more to do with the publisher than Monica I imagine. Oh well, other than the size and only two people cards, it's basically perfect.
Love this - Lenormand is defo on my list to learn ❤

Mildred Payne! (Coffee to the rescue🤪)
That's so cool about the replica!
@@alishaf3692 Haha, was going to reply but saw you had remembered! Yay coffee! x

Oh, I forgot to say, my copy's guidebook is just a little white book, so it sounds like the mass market guidebook is a score!
House of Shadows! That's it! My foggy brain couln't recall the name in the moment. So cool that it has some extra cards!

I think this deck is really cute, but I agree it’s too big. I hate it when I get a Lenormand deck and I can’t use it for a grande tableau.

Wow~ your hair is so long now.
Right?! It's not as long as it used to be when I was much younger but definitely the longest it's been in almost 20 years.
