Seeing this documentary kind of restores my faith in 343. It's clear they have a lot of love and respect for this series. Yeah, Halo 5 sucked, but I thinl it'll be a good learning experience for them. People have pointed out what they liked and didn't like about Halo 5, and if they listen to the fans and address these issues in future titles it could lead to some very extraordinary games.
Halo 5 is a bit "bad." In geneal. Before you go ahead and start blabbing about, Halo 5 had some holes in its UI, especially the fact that you only see emblems as gamertags. In addition, Halo 5s campaign is TERRIBLE. They hired some guy named Brian Reed to write the story And if you read comic books, I'm pretty sure you know who Brian Reed is. If you dont know who Brian Reed is, he's probably the worst writer you'll ever meet.
Lenanee Lee I'm not getting a whole new system to play this and with inferior graphics. Halo 1 and 2 came to PC and many of the Xbone ''exclusives'' have already come to PC. I'll hope this one will too, at some point.
Not in the original. Miguel Ferrer did the original Heretic, and he did Shan Yu from Mulan, Vandal Savage from Young Justice, and Deathstroke in the Teen Titans: Judas Contract film. He was also in the original Robocop as the guy who created Robocop. Sadly, he had failing health at the time and died three years ago from cancer.

Like20Bunnies that's the halo 2 remastered multiplayer, which is completely separate from halo 2 multiplayer. They didn't end up going with that smg design (which atually looks much more like the one from odst than H5), unless that particular smg with the silencer and scope is exclusive to that map as I haven't played that one. Halo 2 remastered multiplayer is different. There's a unique thing every map has like that bubble shield for example, and there's things that weren't in the original like assault rifles and hornets, as well as the gungoose. Or if you don't like that, there's the completely original in _every_ way (including graphics) halo:ce/halo 2/halo 3/halo 4 multiplayer playlists
God remember the modems, the ethernet cables, the TVs dragged to one room...all to just play Halo? This was social gaming before Xbox live, and even through it. I remember playing Halo 2 and 3 with a group of buddies as part of our "Gaming Club" in High School, and everyone scrambled just to have enough TVs. The nostalgia is strong with this one.
I'm a hard person to impress I've always been a huge fan of Halo each game each story captivates my imagination whether it be books games movies graphic novels whatever the Halo universe captured me and I have been very impressed with 343 industries and their dedication to the story not only the games but the entire universe of Halo as a whole . With Halo 4 I was so afraid that like Halo Reach the storyline would be rewritten or changed but 343 industries did not disappoint. So I have to say thank you 343 Industries for working so hard to keep to the entire story.
I do agree with you to an extent, but Halo 4 is pretty low on my list. It tried too much to compete with every other game instead of being Halo, that's why I didn't like it.
I'm not talking about the multiplayer which I agree with you they tried to hard to compete with other games and more complicated the multiplayer than improved it. But the story is what really matters to me. Halo Reach in my opinion really changed how the book halo the fall of reach (if you know that book you know what I'm talking about) tells the story. While halo 4 continued the story it's still stayed true to the storyline like 1 2 & 3 even Halo Wars stayed with the storyline(more or less). so that is what I'm saying that they impressed me with keeping to the story. I'm a sci-fi fan and halo is as sci-fi as you can get.
Halo one and two are still my favorites...I can play all day...sound track is outstanding...I can dump all my stress on easy play just popping grunts...love it...always will.

Thank you to 343, Blur Studios, Certain Affinity, Saber Interactive, Microsoft, etc. Better late than never. Halo MCC finally the monument/museum to the history of Halo that it should be.
it just sucks that the momentum got lost due to a non polished end product. imagine how many people would still be playing halo today had they had it ready to go at launch. a lot of people just moved on out of frustration from waiting so long. maybe more people will rejoin again but at this point theres just other things that have grabbed the attention of long time fans. not to mention life has a tendency to make you have to put the controller down lol.
@@musek5048 For sure. But, you can apply that to many games. Of course, it'd be great if it was this the whole time. But, that's just not how the business works. It's always a juggle between the art and the business, and the business usually wins because games cost tens of millions of dollars to make. Specific to Halo MCC, it's much more complicated. It was too ambitious a project, thus doomed to fail in attempt. Four Halo games and four halo engines, every multiplayer map and mode ever all unified on one disc. It's unprecedented in Remaster history. There's a reason there's no other remaster you can compare it to. Because it's insane to have attempted something like this lol. Nonetheless, I understand where you're coming from, and also extremely thankful that they took the time to update/fix it (some of which, they were going to have to do even if it launched perfect, because XBL has fundamentally changed since 2015).

Blur studios really made an amazing job on the cutscenes. I had no idea they actually re-recorded all the cutscenes in mocap, they felt very true to the original. They completed Bungie's vision of cinematic storytelling in video games, they're so good.
Holy shit O_O I had no fucking idea Halo 2 had so many big names in it. They really did have an all-star cast working on it, this is so amazing, I am so hyped. I didn't really feel it before, I was excited, but not hyped. But it is seriously starting to hit me... really hard.
It made a massive impact on the industry too, if you think about it. Xbox live wouldn't be here if not for Halo, and Xbox as a whole might have died out. Without Halo, FPS wouldn't be the same. The online would be totally different, if even there, and gaming would defiantly not be anywhere near as popular. Praise MS, praise Halo.
It truly brought a tear to my eyes to see people work on a game for the love of the game and for the players sake...not just to make some money, or push agenda. Thanks 343 for this update to nostalgia!!!! Recent PC owner of the MCC
Driving the scorpion on the covenant snowy road while listening to the amazing music is the best gaming feeling I ever had. Played a few times for skulls, lists and achievements but that feeling never wears off. Breath taking music and graphic combination.
I don't know why but the end credits music makes me want to cry. It just makes me feel all the nostalgia and memories I have about this game and that I will always have. I guess the music just really shows me the love that was put into this game by all the developers and all the fans. So I want to cry because of how much I love this franchise and how the whole Halo lore makes me feel. This franchise is Truly Amazing and Beautiful.
The halo and halo 2 games were awesome, and if you can play an area over and then you get hooked on the game. And it's such a good game. A lot of hours in college were spent shooting people in the halo games.

Everyone did a phenomenal job with Halo 2 Anniversary especially Blur Studio making those cinematic cutscenes is a game changer the whole game is phenomenal!
There can't be a Halo 3 anniversary lol. There is nothing they can do to make the graphics look better on halo 3 because they already look good enough as is.

The first thing I'm doing after beating Halo 2 is watching all of the cutscenes as a movie. Even doing that in Halo Wars was incredible because of the CGI, but watching the Halo 2 cutscenes over again like that, man.. this MCC is going to be so amazing! See ya online!
I'm ready for the 2v2 competitive again so my friend and I can do like we did back in 2nd grade. Lol we sucked then, but hopefully we're better now XD!
Paw King
OH I'm ready for the pvp as well! And the fact that we have the Halo 2 ranking system, i.e. separate ranks in each playlist, makes me all the more excited! :D
Quality of cutscenes is out of this world.
Its crazy to think that it will be Halo 2's 20th anniversary in 2024.
This is a must watch for any Halo fan! Such an amazing trip down memory lane and a great insight to the future! Also, the sad realization that the Gregorian Chant always sounds better inside your own head haha
How did H5 suck? Besides the campaign having only 3 missions as Chief, what sucked about it? I'm curious to hear your opinion.
I'm mostly hearing very bad graphical issues.
ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. Except Forge ans Custom Games, those two things are awesome
Halo 5 is a bit "bad." In geneal. Before you go ahead and start blabbing about, Halo 5 had some holes in its UI, especially the fact that you only see emblems as gamertags.
In addition, Halo 5s campaign is TERRIBLE. They hired some guy named Brian Reed to write the story
And if you read comic books, I'm pretty sure you know who Brian Reed is.
If you dont know who Brian Reed is, he's probably the worst writer you'll ever meet.
+techguy348
Graphical issues? what? the game looks amazing
Halo 2 - the best first person shooter in history!
Destiny is starting to take it now but classic halo for sure
+Ganon Gerudo Destiny is alright , but you should feel ashamed about what you just said !
+Ganon Gerudo HELL NO.
Joseph Boulter
me ashamed, Never, sold countless of hours on Halo and Halo 3 and Reach.
@@GanonGerudo Destiny? Nay! What is this heresy of which you speak? No.
Bring the collection to PC, so many people would pay good money for it.
Not to rustle your buns, but it's not happening any time soon.
Get teh Xbox One if you desire this with good intent. It's well worth it.
Lenanee Lee I'm not getting a whole new system to play this and with inferior graphics. Halo 1 and 2 came to PC and many of the Xbone ''exclusives'' have already come to PC. I'll hope this one will too, at some point.
Ville Nummisalo
Your loss. Have fun waiting three or four years.
Lenanee Lee Year or two at best. And yes I can wait, some of the games are a decade old or more so a year or mode wouldn't make any difference.
Ville Nummisalo
Wutever ye say, bruh.
You actually reacted much better than most people would. Kudos and props.
That moment when you realize the voice of The Heretic also voices Marcus Fenix in Gears of War=mind blown!
He's also Bender from Futurama.
I knew it
John DiMaggio is only a fill-in for the real voice, Miguel Ferrer.
@@MintyLime703 Really? that's one I should've noticed.
This doc has literally gotten me in tears reminiscing about how great my childhood was in due part to Halo,2,3,4,etc.
Min 18ish on the excerpt of carrying viciously heavy letter box televisions across the alleys,
100ft of Ethernet cord, hubs , routers multiport greasy food, friends pot drinks
OMFG thank you for the blessing that was is and will continue to be, for me....
HALO
Ahhh the memories. Brings tears man weird cuz its only a video game but so many childhood memories. To be honest my favorite memories.
Nobody ever nailed anything as hard as Halo 2 anniversary was nailed. The switching back and forth always blew my mind because i swear the new version was how i saw the game. Graphics of 2 were next LEVEL back then. But man they kept that feel with the new beauty of the game.
Halo was amazing 10 years ago and is still amazing today, 1 week guys!
Its so very close! And with Forge!
I am stunned! It's so unreal haha I never owned halo 2, I was just at my friend's house playing split-screen co-op, so... to really get to play it whenever I want now is amazing!
Yes! Now everybody has the opportunity!
My father had a uhm dont know what to call it basicly like a Arcade ( Where you pay to play ) .. And on the weekends we played Halo 2 system link for free because we would gather so much and make tournaments.. So many memories
GoG1isPRO Not to reply to a three year old comment or anything, but there was one very similar in my town that pretty much every gamer in town went to. It was 2007 so CoD 4 and Halo 3 were played a shit ton. I wanna go back. ;_;
This was an imposing documentary, props to you guys for bring back Halo! Watched it on the xbox one the day it came out :)
I got shivers down my spine when the choir performed the halo theme
Ok, this finally convinced me to get an Xbox One just for the Master Chief Collection. I've been on the fence about it but seeing the love these guys poured into this game, I feel like I have no choice haha
*laughs in hindsight.*
This is what a remaster is supposed to look like! Now do Halo 3. 🥇
Halo 2 isn't a game... Halo 2 is THE game !
THE GAME. YES!
Correction, Halo 2 is life.
I just lost the game...
Was that a hornet... on Halo 2...?
NOVEMBER 11TH CAN NOT COME ANY FASTER!
HYPE! #weback
I thought that was Halo 5 footage. It looked like the Halo 5 style SMG
Wow bless you haha, little did you know MCC was going to be a broken mess
God remember the modems, the ethernet cables, the TVs dragged to one room...all to just play Halo? This was social gaming before Xbox live, and even through it. I remember playing Halo 2 and 3 with a group of buddies as part of our "Gaming Club" in High School, and everyone scrambled just to have enough TVs.
The nostalgia is strong with this one.
Having to drive to a friends house with a huge 32 inch lol
53:13 this man is so under appreciated, misha keep on rocking
LAN parties are one of my fav memories of my childhood.. thank you bungie!!!
We at HaloRuns thank you guys at 343 so much for promoting speedrunning in the MCC! We can't wait to see how the community grows because of it :D
Halo is back. 343 is doing it right.
Halo 5 and Infinite must have been really disappointing for you
Just need Halo 3: Anniversary next.
I'm not sure I could handle that level of awesomeness. But give it to me anyway!
Halo one and two are still my favorites...I can play all day...sound track is outstanding...I can dump all my stress on easy play just popping grunts...love it...always will.
Those animations were second to none, the entire trilogy eventually needs to look like this.
There's not enough thanks in the world to give you guys for this. So awesome
For anyone checking this out in 2018 and beyond, Halo MCC has been completely rebuilt and is 100% fixed and Xbox One X Enhanced in 4K/HDR. ODST included.
Too little too late tbfh
It should’ve been a complete revival for the series instead the broken launch had it fall flat on its face lol
@@CoercedJab It's been one of the top rated games on Steam every month since it launched on the platform. In Gamepass on Xbox and PC, so there's no trouble finding matches in multiplayer.
Pleeeeease *343* have the same sort of energy, excitement and dedication when making *Halo Infinite*
It's so amazing that halo 2 got the best anniversary treatment with the cutscenes. I honestly didn't believe a halo 2 remaster was going to happen but i held so much hope that it would come one day. My favorite campaign
Then u have these COD and Battlefield fanboys... They probably wouldnt exist without halo
Right tho 😂 they could never have a great community like that, more toxic than great if you ask me. COD at least
It truly brought a tear to my eyes to see people work on a game for the love of the game and for the players sake...not just to make some money, or push agenda. Thanks 343 for this update to nostalgia!!!!
Recent PC owner of the MCC
Well so much for that, damn.
Halo 2: Anniversaries cutscene cinematics are BY FAR even today. the best in the industry.
Halo is so good, I watched the credits.
TWICE!
A true Spartan
55:16 that part broke my heart. MCC, having the problems that it had... feels bad
Dude I can't focus on work with all these amazing videos on RUclips!!!!!!
Same here hahaha
I called in sick today and just watched all videos like this
The halo and halo 2 games were awesome, and if you can play an area over and then you get hooked on the game. And it's such a good game. A lot of hours in college were spent shooting people in the halo games.
47:40 That trailer was most definitely a banger. That editing was top notch. This solidifies the fact that Halo 2 is the darkest main story Halo game to date. My favorite game of all time. Memories!
Keith David, what a great guy!
22:26 Master Chief's face fully revealed
It's interesting to watch a documentary about a game that was fucked up at launch and required multiple updates just to get to work properly before being abandoned for 2-3 years
Everyone did a phenomenal job with Halo 2 Anniversary especially Blur Studio making those cinematic cutscenes is a game changer the whole game is phenomenal!
The halo guitar solos are soooo good man.
Halo 3 Anniversary please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
noooo anniversary nooo!!! it must be Ultimate Edition so we can get full 1080
Yes please
plzzzz halo 3 remastered halo reach remastered and halo 3 odst remastered
There can't be a Halo 3 anniversary lol. There is nothing they can do to make the graphics look better on halo 3 because they already look good enough as is.
I hope they update the game to remaster halo 3 I don't care if I have to pay 5 buck I want this to happen
I really, really hope they put in the same amount of love and work into Halo 3 Anniversary, if such a thing ever exists
+Starbite Productions I think it kind of needs to, at this point.
Halo 3 was my first - all we can do is hope
I hope they keep the exploits in Delta Halo that let you get out of the level and scale the mountains in the distance
I flipped out when I first did that. It was amazing!!!
they will, they specifically said that everything is the same, including all your fav glitches :)
i can't wait to exsperinece all these legendary glitches in halo 2 :D
cowbrain6 I remember all the superjumps in halo 2. If you got an overshield and a Rocket launcher, stood on one of those metal shields, and aimed at the very top, it would fling you to the top of almost any building. Was so fun.
cowbrain6
I hope they kept all the super jumps, those were fun to do, even trying to figure out how to do it was fun.
I cried. That is all that needs to be said, this series has given me SO MANY memories.
For real dude.
The arbiter voice is amazing just love that voice man such an Icon the arbiter along with the Chief
I think I'm gonna cry.
Let it out man
now i hope they'll bring halo 3 anniversary to the master chief collection :)
blur cinematics, video adaptation of the actual terminals, ...
+Jonathan Bédard I think it should be it's own game
+MAC CANON agreed. They should add the DMR and the brute plasma rifle along the way
+Brick Gamer they wont. they only change the graphics and sounds. but maybe in the multiplayer
+gmd_swegamer You sure? Look at the Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer
Brick Gamer
did u even read my comment?
more work went into this documentary than the game itself
I don't think so
I'm lucky enough to work at the airport here in Seattle and Kiki and Bonnie frequently travel out on the airline I work for, and I check them in. Just getting to talk with them and sharing my love of the franchise and seeing their genuine enthusiasm for Halo is so great-halo is in great hands. Also met Phil Spencer a few times around Gamescom time, and when MS was acquiring Mojang in Sweden, and he's such a cool humble guy, and he knows his games. Excited for the future of Xbox, as well as the franchise. This is great times for Halo and Xbox fans
Misha’s so humble. The level of epic that he was not only able to work on this project, but got FaceTime on this video too. What a casual flex lol. The guys done so much since the bulb days. He’s one hell of a inspiration.
Keith David voicing Arby always gives me the chills 😍😁😁🤓
CANT. FUCKING. WAIT.
NEITHER. CAN. I.
NOBODY CAN!
My heart....
me neither dude
FiShDiSh Films You Have A Point
Sadly, this is such a joke to watch after what came of Halo 5: Guardians.
It feels like Halo 2 Anniversary had more effort put into it than Halo 5.
Well yeah, all theyu had to do was make it look better. The bulk was done by bungie 15 years ago.
John Stuart the game isn't as bad as people say it is but the two major flaws is number 1 a different story than what we thought we were getting and the most important one and that is no local play.
Halo 2 Anniversary, in my opinion, has the best graphical design of the series.
bluebanana I don’t think it’s just the art design. Comparing Halo 2 Anniversary on Xbox One X to Halo 5 on Xbox One X, H2A is a much more realistic and technically impressive game. It does more and has more complex geometry and better textures. It’s a much better looking game.
Just wanna say I'm glad what you guys did with the MCC, glad it's in a much better state than it was in 2014. Also thank you for fixing up Halo CE and Halo 2's graphical issues. There's still work to be done obviously but it's nice to have the classic visuals almost on par with the OG Xbox versions now.
I'm able to enjoy the beauty of Halo 2 classics graphics and also enjoy the beauty of Halo 2 Anniversary's graphics!
H2A is such a pretty game.
I had no idea Misha from Periphery was a composer on this! Such a cool thing to learn at midnight on a Thursday
"it's great with this new character, spartan locke, to have a story that's more complete"
*releases game with half baked plot that we know went through production hell*
Anybody here to feel the nostalgia again?
Bless the greatest game ever made getting the greatest remaster of all tie.
The biggest ingredient that made these games unforgettable, the feeling of pure passion by the people who made them that seeps through these games
There's a few events in life where you can recall your first time no matter how long ago it happened. Playing Halo is one of those moments for me. My friends and I were addicted, I bought an Xbox just for Halo CE, and I spent countless hours on Halo 2.
Crying 4 times while watching this is... good, isn't it? It is, right? ;~;
Especially hearing "Rue and Woe" remastered playing during the credits made me cry twice, though... heh... TT___TT
stonedemokid11 *pats*
Bryanneo1 Thank you TT___TT
I get teary as well so it's okay
Bryanneo1 ;~;
33:05 That was Ben Burtt's lightsaber swing technique, playing the sound through the speakers and moving the mic.
The Force is strong with this one. Lol!
1:03 Who has also sung the DADADA, too? ^^)
Everybody. Lol!
I DID
Always
The guitars riffs and all that licks man brings chills man such an amazing soundtrack, Halo C.E. is my favorite as far as soundtrack but Halo 2 is top notch
I remember Halo 2 was the first game i ever played that wasn't on the PC. And it was the first Halo I actually played and I played it for hours and hours and loved it. I have so many memories of it and it makes me want to cry. Halo 2 IS THE GAME TO PLAY! And i CANT wait to play Halo 2 Anniversary!
