Wesley Snipes is a Black Belt in Shotokan Karate.. Taekwondo and Karate do share a number of similarities in terms of kicking technique. But he’s definitely demonstrating his Shotokan in the movie with the added choreographed martial arts and wrestling etc
I heard on the set of Demolition Man, Snipes was so fast with his strikes/punches that producers had to tell him to slow down because cameras couldn't capture the action.

I gotta say this fight scene holds up and is better than most current fight scenes in the action genre. The combination of Guillermo's understanding of good filmmaking and showing more wides and follow shots as opposed to close up shaky cams, with Snipes obviously doing a lot of the stunts, it makes this scene feel fluid and good.

This fight scene is why I love watching Blade do what he does. He has such a versatile fighting style. We really need an Arkham themed Blade video game for the modern age with a multitude of supernatural themed foes for him to throw down against. It'd honestly work with the right story behind it.

Or Daywalker vampires far more powerful, stronger and invincible to all weaknesses of the Vampire race if Damaskinos had succeeded in the plot to harvest Blade's blood as the missing key to creating the perfect breed of Daywalker vampires as the Reaper experiment failed to do starting with Damaskinos's cloning of his own son, Nomak, who served as patient zero for the Reaper virus that genetically mutated and deformed Nomak into an undead super vampire monster. Reinhardt was involved in the Reaper experiment alongside Damaskinos and Damaskinos's henchmen and familiars including Scud the traitor and undercover spy formerly aligned with Blade, and Damaskinos's lawyer, chief familiar, and right hand man Karel Kounen. Reinhardt was allowed to be involved in the Reaper experiment on Nomak by Damaskinos as the secondary leader of the Bloodpack team, second in command and co-leader under Nyssa as Damaskinos's daughter, as well as being Damaskinos's henchman and personal guard outside of the group. Which the Reaper experiment failed to do with Jared Nomak, Damaskinos's own son he cloned like the cloned Reaper embryos Damaskinos revealed in his lair that Whistler shot up in the end. Reinhardt tried to kill Blade or get Blade killed repeatedly in the mission to hunt down the Reapers against Damaskinos's orders to bring Blade back alive out of his passionate hatred of Blade and to even the score with Blade for embarrassing Reinhardt repeatedly and outsmarting his payback attempts and insubordination actions to Blade's temporary asserted leadership and command after folding Reinhardt up first to establish dominance and leadership position.
Blade is captured, his blood is drained, weakened but saved by his partner. In order to regain his strength, he has to drink blood which boosts him like a power star and helps him beating scores of henchmen - who accidently all left their ranged weapons at home - under an adrenaline-pumping music. Oh for sure, it'd be entertaining to see. I'm just not sure how he would do it. None of his usual tactics would work. His sword probably wouldn't even cut them (they're virtually indestructible). It never comes up in the films, but in the books it's actually mentioned that they're bulletproof if I remember correctly. They're much too fast and strong for him to fight hand to hand, and hitting one would be like punching a statue anyway. They're ridiculously overpowered; the franchise calls them vampires, but really they're closer to gods. So to be effective, Blade would require a major upgrade, either to his baseline powers or to his weapons. Or both. Otherwise, he would die immediately. The Twilight vampires could (literally) rip him apart.

Goyer actually could've done an alright job if he stuck with his original idea I think. _An early idea by David S. Goyer for the film was to be set many years after the events of Blade II (2002), where vampires finally had achieved world domination and enslaved all humans, with Blade being the last hope for humanity. Blade's slower aging could be explained by his vampire blood. The storyline was deemed too dark and was later dropped._ Would've been a very competent finale to the trilogy. But I do agree with your comment.
Just another reason why Goyer is a fuckup. "Too dark?" This is *Blade!* He is not a comedy character that needs unfitting one liners and barely serious villains to turn a profit. The fact that the first two films were darker, with elements of how humanity will do easily betray it own and how vampires treat them as only food was amazing. Goyer needed to keep his hands off this character.
I think the studio execs, not Goyer, deemed the original storyline too dark. They also had the terrible idea to force those lame Nightstalkers into the film to start a new franchise. This backfired horribly. Considering how terrible Trinity turned out, I can't help but wonder if Goyer had been too distracted working on the Batman Begins script.
I hope they continue these 'Before final boss' or 'final boss warmup' type fights in the MCU Blade movies. These were some of the best fight scenes of the movie trilogy!
Nah, Jared Nomak is/was the FINAL BOSS of Blade 2. Reinhardt was just an easy warm up for the real challenge against Blade. 😂 Reinhardt, as well as the other vampire elite soldiers and assassins in the Bloodpack such as Chupa, who was the best friend of Priest, the first victim to die against the Reapers and least formidable in hand to hand combat in the vampire nightclub and later Chupa became or was already the closest friend and comrade to Reinhardt that shared their mutual intense, defiant hatred of Blade/the Daywalker and more so despised Whistler the most, LightHammer, etc were skilled, formidable fighters individually against average vampires or any inferior humans, but easily outmatched against Blade one on one or together as a team against one vs the Daywalker. Except Snowman, who I believe would've evenly matched Blade in swordsmanship to a draw. Reinhardt just couldn't take a hint. Blade easily folded Reinhardt in front of his own team in the beginning in one on one close combat, outsmarted Reinhardt and Chupa inside the House of Pain vampire nightclub already having his laser sighting of Blade's gun on Reinhardt when Reinhardt aimed his weapon at Blade from across the room alongside Chupa, and also survived the Reaper attack in the sewers under the city of Prague and Reinhardt tried to get Blade killed deliberately neglecting to tell Blade the bomb lever was stuck on the UV grenades in the bomb pack. Taunting Blade last minute via radio mic. Reinhardt just couldn't hold his L.
Almighty Doge Yeah, and Snipes says that he wants to play Blade again, although he did say he wanted to do a Blade 4, but 1 Marvel owns Blade now, not New Line so to fit it in the MCU it'd be a reboot and 2, Marvel doesn't like going over PG-13 for their movies or on TV, so if they did Blade it'd be a Netflix series and I don't know if that's something Snipes would do, then again he was meant to be in the Blade TV series and was willing to.

Reinhardt was allowed to be involved in the Reaper experiment on Nomak by Damaskinos as the secondary leader of the Bloodpack team, second in command and co-leader under Nyssa as Damaskinos's daughter, as well as being Damaskinos's henchman and personal guard outside of the group. Plus Damaskinos knew Nyssa, his own daughter, would never be willing to participate in the Reaper experiment on her own estranged blood brother, Nomak, nor deceive, use and mislead her own team of vampire warriors and assassins and soldiers on a suicide mission as live bait and sacrificial lambs to her heartless, cold blooded, self serving, power hungry father and would've turned against Damaskinos as Nyssa rightfully does at the end of the movie. Reinhardt was just a vampire footsoldier and mercenary killer that followed orders without question and wanted to become a far more powerful, stronger and unstoppable breed of vampire himself if Damaskinos succeeded in creating the perfect breed of Daywalker vampires using Blade's blood and DNA. Which the Reaper experiment failed to do with Jared Nomak, Damaskinos's own son he cloned like the cloned Reaper embryos Damaskinos revealed in his lair that Whistler shot up in the end. Reinhardt tried to kill Blade or get Blade killed repeatedly in the mission to hunt down the Reapers against Damaskinos's orders to bring Blade back alive out of his passionate hatred of Blade and to even the score with Blade for embarrassing Reinhardt repeatedly and outsmarting his payback attempts and insubordination actions to Blade's temporary asserted leadership and command after folding Reinhardt up first to establish dominance and leadership position.
Blade is captured, his blood is drained, weakened but saved by his partner. In order to regain his strength, he has to drink blood which boosts him like a power star and helps him beating scores of henchmen - who accidently all left their ranged weapons at home - under an adrenaline-pumping music.

Oh for sure, it'd be entertaining to see. I'm just not sure how he would do it. None of his usual tactics would work. His sword probably wouldn't even cut them (they're virtually indestructible). It never comes up in the films, but in the books it's actually mentioned that they're bulletproof if I remember correctly. They're much too fast and strong for him to fight hand to hand, and hitting one would be like punching a statue anyway. They're ridiculously overpowered; the franchise calls them vampires, but really they're closer to gods.
So to be effective, Blade would require a major upgrade, either to his baseline powers or to his weapons. Or both. Otherwise, he would die immediately. The Twilight vampires could (literally) rip him apart.
Wanna know who the badass in this scene is? Its Whistler. Hes old with a fucked up leg and hes still kicking ass and lugging Blade around.
I still believe Blade spends a whole day shopping for sunglasses.

Goyer actually could've done an alright job if he stuck with his original idea I think.

Just another reason why Goyer is a fuckup. "Too dark?" This is *Blade!* He is not a comedy character that needs unfitting one liners and barely serious villains to turn a profit. The fact that the first two films were darker, with elements of how humanity will do easily betray it own and how vampires treat them as only food was amazing. Goyer needed to keep his hands off this character.
I think the studio execs, not Goyer, deemed the original storyline too dark. They also had the terrible idea to force those lame Nightstalkers into the film to start a new franchise. This backfired horribly. Considering how terrible Trinity turned out, I can't help but wonder if Goyer had been too distracted working on the Batman Begins script.
I hope they continue these 'Before final boss' or 'final boss warmup' type fights in the MCU Blade movies. These were some of the best fight scenes of the movie trilogy!
Nah, Jared Nomak is/was the FINAL BOSS of Blade 2. Reinhardt was just an easy warm up for the real challenge against Blade. 😂 Reinhardt, as well as the other vampire elite soldiers and assassins in the Bloodpack such as Chupa, who was the best friend of Priest, the first victim to die against the Reapers and least formidable in hand to hand combat in the vampire nightclub and later Chupa became or was already the closest friend and comrade to Reinhardt that shared their mutual intense, defiant hatred of Blade/the Daywalker and more so despised Whistler the most, LightHammer, etc were skilled, formidable fighters individually against average vampires or any inferior humans, but easily outmatched against Blade one on one or together as a team against one vs the Daywalker. Except Snowman, who I believe would've evenly matched Blade in swordsmanship to a draw. Reinhardt just couldn't take a hint. Blade easily folded Reinhardt in front of his own team in the beginning in one on one close combat, outsmarted Reinhardt and Chupa inside the House of Pain vampire nightclub already having his laser sighting of Blade's gun on Reinhardt when Reinhardt aimed his weapon at Blade from across the room alongside Chupa, and also survived the Reaper attack in the sewers under the city of Prague and Reinhardt tried to get Blade killed deliberately neglecting to tell Blade the bomb lever was stuck on the UV grenades in the bomb pack. Taunting Blade last minute via radio mic. Reinhardt just couldn't hold his L.

It also helped that the Blade producers, in general, went with the old standard that Vampires were predators and humans were their prey. Big difference than the Anne Rice and Twilight Vamps that try making them some sort of tragic figures that should be liked.
