Hogwarts legacy is impressive imo. The avg Fps are around 34% higher on the 7900XTX but the 7900XTX's power draw is only around 19 to 20% higher. So the AMD card is actually more efficient here.

4070ti can do 4k, but its BEST at 1440p. XTX is a 4k card by default, but will end up being most 3440*1440p or greater GPU. No disrespect to the person making the video. Its the negative comments that doesn't make sense. Its not just the FPS and PWR rating. Please see the settings being used and think what GPU is best for the settings used and keep an open mind.
Price is not what entirely determines a product. For eg, U csn get a 718 Boxter for 80k USD, but also a C8 mid engine Corvette also. So what wud U take. I wud take the Porsche for its precise steering, incrrdible handling and absolutely smashing classy interior and looks and its a Porsche. Same way the 4070 Ti is a 192 Bit BUS card. Its obviously the best 1440p RaybTracing card money can buy now.

If the 7900 XTX had already been at the 1000€ mark in April, I would have bought it, but at that time it "only" became an RTX 4070TI - I'm still satisfied, but didn't see the point of spending 300€ more for a graphics card at that time, 900€ felt like the pain threshold. :/

For me, 4070 Ti used is $550-$600 and 7900 XTX is $700-$850 so 4070 Ti at those price points is a better pick for me but I do have enough for XTX just not sure if its worth it since I could get a 4080 Super at that point which is definitely way overkill for me
RT is technically the most accurate method in video rendering to date. So it's hardly a waste. The fact that your GPU can't handle playable frame-rates now, doesn't mean all GPUs can't handle playable frame-rates with RT on, or that it will be like that until the end of time. HW and technology improves, so does RT and other methods. You have to understand RT is a novelty, it's still in its infancy, It takes time for it to improve. The fact that a game dev choses an ugly art design is not the fault of RT or path tracing or anything. These are tools and solutions to rendering problems. It's up to people how to use them.
Control, and Hitman 3 both use ray tracing in amazing ways, the realistic reflections off nearly every glass surface is very immersive and makes both games look better.

In my country they cost the same, sometimes 7900XTX is cheaper so it’s a no brainer to get it. That 12GB of VRAM on 4070Ti is kinda pathetic tho, I always bought nvidia but now it just doesn’t make sense.

For some1 and many more like me AMD is not cutting it right. Bro, let's hope that fsr 3 will be as good or better then DLSS 3,5. Nobody cares for ray tracing - everybody cares for high fps. DLSS is a very very useful feature, for me it's a game changer. I play in 4K and I need that free boost.

It's just not the most amazing addition for most of the games (that come with RT and lightning precalculated in shadow and light maps and other rasterization techniques made by the 3d artists)... but for sure balance with FPS, quality and resolution is far more important...
If it gets beat at 4k it will get beat all the same at 1440p. We’re not talking about a GPU that hits VRAM limit in 4K. Even the 7900XT & 7900GRE beat the 4070ti while being cheaper. The 4070ti is bad value card no matter what way you spin it.

Funny that when you actually use the soft-side tech of the 4070 Ti it closes the gap substantially to XTX while needing far less power to do it, and even out-performs it in some RT scenarios. Ok I'll put it another way, if the 7900 series are bad value, then the 4070/4080 is terrible value. Your points are also kind of stupid. The VRAM part is hilarious, people said the same thing about the 3070's 8gb. How'd that turn out? Oh, that's right the 6700XT smokes it newer AAA titles because it has 12gb. Shocker. Next the power consumption between a 4070ti & 7900XT is around 20-30w, hardly crushing victory given it's slower. The "soft-tech" doesn't save Nvidia anymore. DLSS & FSR are nearly identical now, with only DLSS 3 standing out. Which has its own issues, like input lag and small list of supported games. FSR3 looks like a better version of it anyway. The drivers have been intermittently garbage on both sides. As for professional workload, sure NVidia owns that performance crown. But you're talking about a tiny sector of high-end GPU market, for the average weekend video editor/streamer a Radeon work all the same. Much like what you said about AMD fanboys, harping on Nvidia's professional performance sounds like copium. My personal favorite part of this was you assuming I'm an AMD fanboy. I have an RTX 4090, but that really excluded from the Nvida vs AMD debate since it's in a performance class of its own. I also own a 7900XTX in my HTPC, it's an absolute beast for a $900 primeday day, smokes a 4070ti.

Cheapest 4070 Ti for me is $750. XTX $950. 4080 $1,080. The latter two are closer in price and you'll ultimately be paying over $1k total for them. Comparing XTX to 4070 Ti is moot, I agree, but the 4080 is flat-out superior. 4070 Ti when you utilize DLSS+FG almost equals XTX performance and even matches/surpasses it in certain RT scenario, all while being more efficnet/less power. Buying highest tier AMD is idiotic. If you're fine paying that much, just get a 4080. AMD fanboys have really convinced themselves XT/XTX are good value lol.
In the U.S. the cheapest RTX 4070 Ti is 750 USD and the cheapest 7900 XTX is 940 USD according to pcpartpicker, it is almost 200 USD difference, just like the MSRP which was 1000 USD vs. 800 USD. In Europe, Germany the cheapest 7900 XTX is 960 Euros and the cheapest RTX 4070 Ti is 830 Euros, I think in Europe the 7900 XTX is a much better value card...
Raytracing is a gimmick that messes with the computer's resource and drops the frame rates. On top of that, I prefer the non shiny surfaces and wet floors caused by the heavy raytracing.

It's really funny that a lot of people here comparing prices for these cards that if the difference was low, like in my case (currently 117€) then they would definitely choose RX 7900 XTX, but they forget the fact that AMD uses like 110W more. So what is the point to compare starting price? How much you will burn with those extra 100W? I don't know i am leaning more to Nvidia as i don't care about graphics so much only performance, most likely will play 1440p. Any advice why i should chose AMD? I mean i see the difference on ultra etc. but i won't use any good graphic presets.
You really are whining for 100w more? Well, the average kWh in the US is 0.23 so that would be around 16.73$ extra per day. Keep in mind that these calculations are assuming you will be using the GPU at 100% 24 hours straight. In reality, you won't even have your PC on everyday.

In my case, I don't use my PC every day but when I do, I only game for around 4 to 5 hours. If we take my previous calculations, assuming I game 4 days a week then that is a whooping 26$ per year or 2.40$ per day. Again, this is assuming that when I game, I use my GPU at 100% all the time which won't always be the case so the result will be much lower. In reality, 100w difference is so small that it is not even worth taking into consideration.

I checked, its a : Samsung U32R59x. Its a curved 4k60hz screen so actually vsync would lock the game at 60fps if he had actually used it. I guess he does testing with different settings than he shows.@@KoItai1

Nvidia is not better power value when measured the way it should be: Watts/FPS. XTX draws 1.25x the power of the 4070 but provides a Watts/FPS ratio better than that in most games tested. As high as 1.45 in the tests above.

To all the famboys on both sodes, I have both a 3070 ti and an RX 6800. FSR and DLSS are both ugly at 1080p, DLSS is better at 1440p and at 4K, both are almost identical. FSR3 will also work with all cards while DLSS3 only works with 4000 cards. Both brands are selling overpriced crap right now. 7900 XT vs 4070 is more accurate here. 7900 XT is actually 7800 XT. The actual 4070 is really just 4060.
Dlss 3 are supported by all rtx GPUs now and tbh dlss looks much better than fsr and I cant really see a difference from original but with fsr ? Looks like crap no ty

DLSS 3.5 will work will all RTX cards except frame generation. If you keep banking on FSR 3 to give you some kind of hope then your delusional. It's not out yet and nobody knows how it will perform on other cards. Just smoke and mirrors until it's released and actually tested.
@danielpindell1267 nobody's banking 0n anything. RT is too demanding for most GPUs anyway, and DLSS won't do much in very demanding scenarios unless you're ok with a blurry image. Not everyone has a 4k monitor with a 4090. Go touch some grass.

It’s a little biased to put 4070ti to do 4k with 12gb vram; its going to have frame time pacing issues at certain RT workloads; its supposed to do 1440p heavy RT which 7900xtx cant do; the only reason why the 7900xtx is getting gains over 4070ti is the vram which is why the whole vram issue is blown up this much cause it can make a huge difference on how many frames with the overhead; cyberpunk is just obvious showcase that 7900xtx doesn’t have the RT accelerators that are on par with 4070ti but rather 4070ti is bottlenecked by vram that it is slowing down giving XTX the lead in most 4k situations

@@Rebe-Caufman did you update the drivers after the vr fix ? and are you using a quest 2 ? if so thats probably why, amd did update their drivers for better vr support and it did help a lot with headsets that use display port and hdmi connection but quest 2 also needs to update their own software to fully support 7000 series and currently they didnt do that so its kinda needed to use virtual desktop on quest 2 for now

No it is not. At the moment at least. In heavy RT or overdrive 4070 ti is faster. In rasterization also if u include FG. Until fsr 3.0 radon is good choice but nvidia slighty better. Worth to mention 4070 ti is 1440p card
@@jeromerelayson3850 only if I ever decided to game at 4k. I game at 2k, and for me, the 3080 is plenty powerful enough. If I had a weaker card, I'd certainly consider the 7900 XT. It's a fantastic card... And the XTX, even more so. But the cost, to me, isn't worth it, unless I had the extra money to spend, and in my opinion, if it was a significant upgrade, like, from a 10 series or maybe 20 series NVidia card.

Well to be fair the 70 series cards are 1440p cards. 80 series cards are 4k capable. That said the 4070 Ti performs as good as a 3090 Ti @1440p while drawing jusg under 230W. The 3080 is a good card. It ll hold its own ground till 2025

If you're not bothered about VR, stable drivers, or RT at all, then team Red is for you. If you do want to try VR out at some point or you're already into VR then stay away from the 7000 series cards. I've just swapped my 7900 XTX with a 4070 TI because of its shocking VR performance. And don't get me started on the drivers...
AMD Fan Video? ;) Who is testing without RT in 2023. Ok, the test includes without and with RT, but there is no reason, to test some Games in both ways. After that, why the test includes old, AMD optimised games. But, on the other side, thank for all tests! ANd also this test shows why to buy Nvidia. The modern Games with rt, runs the 4070ti almost on 7900XTX level, with lower price and much lower energy comsumption. And if someone take the 4080 to the test, the result is clear.
Some games you will notice the difference with rt, but this shit its too heavy. Instead of fighting which gpu its better we should fight for them low the prices of gpu and also better pc game optimizations.
The sell for me is the Linux support for the RX 7900 XTX. NVIDIA drivers on Linux have tipped me over the edge, and I will be selling my 3070 to buy the RX. I won't be gaming at 4k so frame-rates will be significantly better with ray-tracing on, and I won't have to deal with the hassles of NVIDIA jank.
That's old information. Get the 7900 xtx or if you don't need the high performance go for something cheaper. The 7800 xt is probably going to be the best price to performance card this generation.
7900xtx better raster. If you dont care about dlss go with amd. If you do care about slightly superior upscaling go with nvidia. fsr3 might even the odds but who knows. Honestly it's a hard choice. 7900 much more vram, can actually do 4k without resorting to cheats. Itll last longer. It does use more power but it also gives proportionally as much performance so efficiency is about the same as 4070ti. Ray tracing performance is similar. Youd use it for 1080p on both maybe. 4k is probably only good with 4090 level card. Ray tracing is too damn demanding.
@@1989rs500 You can heavily undervolt & underclock AMD without much impact on performance. My 7900XTX sips around 200-250W in games and benchmark perf only -7% from stock.
I think it should be 4070 Ti vs 7900 XT. Since they are really close in price. Then, 4080 vs 7900 XTX since they are closer in price. This kinda seems like a cherry picked comparison to paint AMD in a better light. I would disregard this video. As it is misleading information.

@@TheMahtimursu In my contry the 7900xtx is about 1100€, 4080(gigabyte) 1220€ and the 4090 is about 1800-2000€ depending on version. But I don’t talk prices here, i talk specs. In terms of specs the 7900xtx should be compared with 4090, having same memory, bus and everything. In terms of prices yeah go with the 7900xtx, but an “slower” card like the 4080 will do better even in 4k for 100€ more. And this before enabling nvidia tehnology.
The 7900XTX seems to generate around 20fps more on average in games than the 4070ti at 4K, when raytracing, frame generation, upscaling, etc. are disabled/unavailable. However, the 4070ti is Nvidia's mid-tier GPU aimed at 1440p, whereas the 7900XTX is AMD's flagship GPU aimed at 4K.
@@Darklord0027 Except it isn't cheaper, but 20-50% more expensive, and AMD tech equivalents are inferior, which even AMD-loving techtubers have to admit... Besides, my point about ray tracing, upscaling, frame generation, etc., was not that AMD doesn't have any similar tech, but rather that the difference in performance between the two cards would be even less. Raytracing, in particular, is something that AMD struggles with, which is widely known/reported.

well the amd cards are good but the rev curv on the fans are so bad i would go for 4070 ti ot 4080. the fan signature on amd gpu makes no seens from 0 to 100% work load and the loud fans. no thanks

This is the reason why I don't like these videos. They clearly paint AMD in a way better light. But when you start using dedicated software for the Nvidia cards. It is the complete opposite. People just look at the hardware. Because AMD can not software at all.

@@theplayerofus319 Only the voltage is limited to 0.9v, the speeds are stock(gpu and ram). The 4070 ti in stock state is even faster a bit. (Avg fps is 90) but the power draw is also higher (up to 250w). But I prefer the undervolt, due to less power draw.
@@john_doe_33 You don't know what you talk about. 7900 XTX can be undervolted with no problem. It can be underclocked with no problem and still easily will beat 4070Ti. Basically every 7000 series card comes with the same maximal voltage and you can only lower it. The card is simply much more powerful than 4070 Ti. But the only honest comparison is still stock vs stock. And yaeh it consumes 70 W more (about 25%), but it's easily usually 25% more powerful. So it's not wasted energy for nothing. It's interesting how efficiency is now king for nVidia fanboys, and in the previous generation where AMD was simply better, and Ampere cards were simply awful in that regard it was just non-issue feature.
Only in RT... You have to remember Nvidia is on its 3rd gen RT and AMD is on its 2nd gen of RT. XTX crushes in raster though.... If RT is your thing buy a 4090.
If you tuned the the 4070 Ti to have the same power draw and gpu temp. I think it would win every time. Then you can look into the 4080 which is only 100 to 200 dollars more than the 7900 XTX. Then tune that and kick the shit out if...
I don't think it would win, but it could be close to XTX performance in non RT. If you are talking about RT side, yes, probably it will perform better in all games. In current times overclocking does not give such a big boost as it gave a decade ago. Also, don't forget that you can overclock XTX too. While 4070 Ti has 12gb vram, it is a bit questionable and probably will be outdated after few years and start bottlenecking on vram side. Speaking about 4080 vs XTX is more personal preference now since they are head-to-head in non RT performance and in EU, 4080 is a bit more expensive than XTX. We can already see amd 7000 series performing better with latest driver updates and thats why people are saying with AMD cards that they age like a fine wine. It was exactly like that with 6000, 5000 and even with 500 series. So I won't be surprised that after next 6 months XTX will be better performer in non RT titles than 4080. If RT is really needed for you, then yes, grab 4080 and you will be happy. If you are content creator, once again, grab 4080, BUT 7000 series now has AV1 encoding which is really good, but at the moment only youtube supports live streaming with such encoding. 16 vs 24gb vram - is nice to have more, i.e. escape from tarkov maxed out uses 22gb vram, so with 4080 you will have fps dips while XTX will do fine. Personally - rtx 40 series is a bit questionable and not worth unless you buy 4080 or 4090. I had rtx 3060 ti after launch, it was a good card, but currently on 1440p with higher textures you end up with full vram usage and getting dips.
The higher you push these nvidia cards(if you even could), you're gonna get blocked by those restricted bit bus'. It sounds nice in theory but everyone seems to reaaaaally be downplaying how *small* the bit bus' are on 40 series. Thats a way bigger limit to performance than PCIe 3 vs 4. the bus width is one of the biggest reasons (and VRAM count) that nvidia is as behind AMD as they are. It's just impossible to recommend nvidia unless you've got tons of cash to blow for shits and giggles. Getting used last gens is worth a lot more, price to performance. And you won't be bottlenecked by your gpu itself.
@@K5Legion I can see where you are coming from. It is a new architecture and they significantly increased the L2 cache size by a little over 10 times (64MB). They use GDDR6X, which uses less bandwidth but sends more data. Also, the 40 series have different core types. All doing something different. That is why they are better at ray tracing and ai generated task DLSS or DLAA.

The avg Fps are around 34% higher on the 7900XTX but the 7900XTX's power draw is only around 19 to 20% higher. So the AMD card is actually more efficient here.

4070ti can do 4k, but its BEST at 1440p. XTX is a 4k card by default, but will end up being most 3440*1440p or greater GPU. No disrespect to the person making the video. Its the negative comments that doesn't make sense. Its not just the FPS and PWR rating. Please see the settings being used and think what GPU is best for the settings used and keep an open mind.
And the price?
Price is not what entirely determines a product. For eg, U csn get a 718 Boxter for 80k USD, but also a C8 mid engine Corvette also.

If the 7900 XTX had already been at the 1000€ mark in April, I would have bought it, but at that time it "only" became an RTX 4070TI - I'm still satisfied, but didn't see the point of spending 300€ more for a graphics card at that time, 900€ felt like the pain threshold. :/

For me, 4070 Ti used is $550-$600 and 7900 XTX is $700-$850 so 4070 Ti at those price points is a better pick for me but I do have enough for XTX just not sure if its worth it since I could get a 4080 Super at that point which is definitely way overkill for me
raytracing is a waste, red dead 2, forbidden west and TLOU1 looks better than any other games using raytracing (except cyberpunk)
RT is technically the most accurate method in video rendering to date. So it's hardly a waste. The fact that your GPU can't handle playable frame-rates now, doesn't mean all GPUs can't handle playable frame-rates with RT on, or that it will be like that until the end of time. HW and technology improves, so does RT and other methods. You have to understand RT is a novelty, it's still in its infancy, It takes time for it to improve. The fact that a game dev choses an ugly art design is not the fault of RT or path tracing or anything. These are tools and solutions to rendering problems. It's up to people how to use them.

Control, and Hitman 3 both use ray tracing in amazing ways, the realistic reflections off nearly every glass surface is very immersive and makes both games look better.

See I ve a 27 inch 1440p superb IPS monitor and for me at least visual quality is a MUST. I love reflections and I use blender also. For some1 and many more like me AMD is not cutting it right.

It's just not the most amazing addition for most of the games (that come with RT and lightning precalculated in shadow and light maps and other rasterization techniques made by the 3d artists)... but for sure balance with FPS, quality and resolution is far more important...

Given that the sweet spot for 4070ti is 1440p, the gap should close by a few percent there. The 4070ti did never shine at 4k.

Next the power consumption between a 4070ti & 7900XT is around 20-30w, hardly crushing victory given it's slower. The "soft-tech" doesn't save Nvidia anymore. DLSS & FSR are nearly identical now, with only DLSS 3 standing out. Which has its own issues, like input lag and small list of supported games. FSR3 looks like a better version of it anyway. The drivers have been intermittently garbage on both sides. As for professional workload, sure NVidia owns that performance crown. But you're talking about a tiny sector of high-end GPU market, for the average weekend video editor/streamer a Radeon work all the same. Much like what you said about AMD fanboys, harping on Nvidia's professional performance sounds like copium. My personal favorite part of this was you assuming I'm an AMD fanboy. I have an RTX 4090, but that really excluded from the Nvida vs AMD debate since it's in a performance class of its own. I also own a 7900XTX in my HTPC, it's an absolute beast for a $900 primeday day, smokes a 4070ti.

Cheapest 4070 Ti for me is $750. XTX $950. 4080 $1,080. The latter two are closer in price and you'll ultimately be paying over $1k total for them. Comparing XTX to 4070 Ti is moot, I agree, but the 4080 is flat-out superior. 4070 Ti when you utilize DLSS+FG almost equals XTX performance and even matches/surpasses it in certain RT scenario, all while being more efficnet/less power. Buying highest tier AMD is idiotic. If you're fine paying that much, just get a 4080. AMD fanboys have really convinced themselves XT/XTX are good value lol.

In the U.S. the cheapest RTX 4070 Ti is 750 USD and the cheapest 7900 XTX is 940 USD according to pcpartpicker, it is almost 200 USD difference, just like the MSRP which was 1000 USD vs. 800 USD. In Europe, Germany the cheapest 7900 XTX is 960 Euros and the cheapest RTX 4070 Ti is 830 Euros, I think in Europe the 7900 XTX is a much better value card...

Raytracing is a gimmick that messes with the computer's resource and drops the frame rates. On top of that, I prefer the non shiny surfaces and wet floors caused by the heavy raytracing.

It's really funny that a lot of people here comparing prices for these cards that if the difference was low, like in my case (currently 117€) then they would definitely choose RX 7900 XTX, but they forget the fact that AMD uses like 110W more. You really are whining for 100w more? Well, the average kWh in the US is 0.23 so that would be around 16.73$ extra per day. Keep in mind that these calculations are assuming you will be using the GPU at 100% 24 hours straight. In reality, you won't even have your PC on everyday.

In my case, I don't use my PC every day but when I do, I only game for around 4 to 5 hours. If we take my previous calculations, assuming I game 4 days a week then that is a whooping 26$ per year or 2.40$ per day. Again, this is assuming that when I game, I use my GPU at 100% all the time which won't always be the case so the result will be much lower. In reality, 100w difference is so small that it is not even worth taking into consideration.

Flight sim has no vsync enabled, but yet hits only 61 fps? Very strange...
I checked, its a : Samsung U32R59x. Its a curved 4k60hz screen so actually vsync would lock the game at 60fps if he had actually used it. I guess he does testing with different settings than he shows.@@KoItai1

Nvidia is not better power value when measured the way it should be: Watts/FPS.
XTX draws 1.25x the power of the 4070 but provides a Watts/FPS ratio better than that in most games tested. As high as 1.45 in the tests above.

To all the famboys on both sodes, I have both a 3070 ti and an RX 6800. FSR and DLSS are both ugly at 1080p, DLSS is better at 1440p and at 4K, both are almost identical. FSR3 will also work with all cards while DLSS3 only works with 4000 cards. Both brands are selling overpriced crap right now. 7900 XT vs 4070 is more accurate here. 7900 XT is actually 7800 XT. The actual 4070 is really just 4060.
Dlss 3 are supported by all rtx GPUs now and tbh dlss looks much better than fsr and I cant really see a difference from original but with fsr ? Looks like crap no ty

DLSS 3.5 will work will all RTX cards except frame generation. If you keep banking on FSR 3 to give you some kind of hope then your delusional. It's not out yet and nobody knows how it will perform on other cards. Just smoke and mirrors until it's released and actually tested.
@danielpindell1267 nobody's banking 0n anything. RT is too demanding for most GPUs anyway, and DLSS won't do much in very demanding scenarios unless you're ok with a blurry image. Not everyone has a 4k monitor with a 4090. Go touch some grass.

It’s a little biased to put 4070ti to do 4k with 12gb vram; its going to have frame time pacing issues at certain RT workloads; its supposed to do 1440p heavy RT which 7900xtx cant do; the only reason why the 7900xtx is getting gains over 4070ti is the vram which is why the whole vram issue is blown up this much cause it can make a huge difference on how many frames with the overhead; cyberpunk is just obvious showcase that 7900xtx doesn’t have the RT accelerators that are on par with 4070ti but rather 4070ti is bottlenecked by vram that it is slowing down giving XTX the lead in most 4k situations

@@Rebe-Caufman did you update the drivers after the vr fix ? and are you using a quest 2 ? if so thats probably why, amd did update their drivers for better vr support and it did help a lot with headsets that use display port and hdmi connection but quest 2 also needs to update their own software to fully support 7000 series and currently they didnt do that so its kinda needed to use virtual desktop on quest 2 for now

4700 ti is unusable for ray tracing at 4k. You have to wait several generations for a usable ray tracing card.

If I had a weaker card, I'd certainly consider the 7900 XT. It's a fantastic card... And the XTX, even more so. But the cost, to me, isn't worth it, unless I had the extra money to spend, and in my opinion, if it was a significant upgrade, like, from a 10 series or maybe 20 series NVidia card.

Well to be fair the 70 series cards are 1440p cards.
80 series cards are 4k capable.
That said the 4070 Ti performs as good as a 3090 Ti @1440p while drawing jusg under 230W.

If you're not bothered about VR, stable drivers, or RT at all, then team Red is for you. If you do want to try VR out at some point or you're already into VR then stay away from the 7000 series cards.
I've just swapped my 7900 XTX with a 4070 TI because of its shocking VR performance. And don't get me started on the drivers...

Most of the people buying these cards play on 4k tho. For 2k or even lower you can buy much cheaper cards unless you go for 240hz.

AMD Fan Video? ;) Who is testing without RT in 2023. Ok, the test includes without and with RT, but there is no reason, to test some Games in both ways. After that, why the test includes old, AMD optimised games. But, on the other side, thank for all tests! ANd also this test shows why to buy Nvidia. The modern Games with rt, runs the 4070ti almost on 7900XTX level, with lower price and much lower energy comsumption. And if someone take the 4080 to the test, the result is clear.

7900XTX is almost double the price of 4070Ti in my country.
The sell for me is the Linux support for the RX 7900 XTX. NVIDIA drivers on Linux have tipped me over the edge, and I will be selling my 3070 to buy the RX. I won't be gaming at 4k so frame-rates will be significantly better with ray-tracing on, and I won't have to deal with the hassles of NVIDIA jank.

That's old information. Get the 7900 xtx or if you don't need the high performance go for something cheaper. The 7800 xt is probably going to be the best price to performance card this generation.
AMD drivers are solid since radeon 6000. i would go with the 7900xtx for vram and overall faster. Only power draw is a downside
7900xtx better raster. If you dont care about dlss go with amd. If you do care about slightly superior upscaling go with nvidia. fsr3 might even the odds but who knows. Honestly it's a hard choice. 7900 much more vram, can actually do 4k without resorting to cheats. Itll last longer. It does use more power but it also gives proportionally as much performance so efficiency is about the same as 4070ti. Ray tracing performance is similar. Youd use it for 1080p on both maybe. 4k is probably only good with 4090 level card. Ray tracing is too damn demanding.
At same price go with AMD. But make sure U ve a good PSU and a very good case. The 7900 xt and xtx are much hotter cards than 70 Ti.

@@TheMahtimursu In my contry the 7900xtx is about 1100€, 4080(gigabyte) 1220€ and the 4090 is about 1800-2000€ depending on version. But I don’t talk prices here, i talk specs. In terms of specs the 7900xtx should be compared with 4090, having same memory, bus and everything. In terms of prices yeah go with the 7900xtx, but an “slower” card like the 4080 will do better even in 4k for 100€ more. And this before enabling nvidia tehnology.
The 7900XTX seems to generate around 20fps more on average in games than the 4070ti at 4K, when raytracing, frame generation, upscaling, etc. are disabled/unavailable.
However, the 4070ti is Nvidia's mid-tier GPU aimed at 1440p, whereas the 7900XTX is AMD's flagship GPU aimed at 4K.

Besides, my point about ray tracing, upscaling, frame generation, etc., was not that AMD doesn't have any similar tech, but rather that the difference in performance between the two cards would be even less. Raytracing, in particular, is something that AMD struggles with, which is widely known/reported.

Infelizmente não consegui trocar ideia com ninguém que tenha a placa há algum tempo.

This is the reason why I don't like these videos. They clearly paint AMD in a way better light. But when you start using dedicated software for the Nvidia cards. It is the complete opposite. People just look at the hardware. Because AMD can not software at all.

Only the voltage is limited to 0.9v, the speeds are stock(gpu and ram).
The 4070 ti in stock state is even faster a bit. (Avg fps is 90) but the power draw is also higher (up to 250w). But I prefer the undervolt, due to less power draw.

@@john_doe_33 You don't know what you talk about. 7900 XTX can be undervolted with no problem. It can be underclocked with no problem and still easily will beat 4070Ti. Basically every 7000 series card comes with the same maximal voltage and you can only lower it. The card is simply much more powerful than 4070 Ti. But the only honest comparison is still stock vs stock. And yaeh it consumes 70 W more (about 25%), but it's easily usually 25% more powerful. So it's not wasted energy for nothing.
It's interesting how efficiency is now king for nVidia fanboys, and in the previous generation where AMD was simply better, and Ampere cards were simply awful in that regard it was just non-issue feature.
Nvidia for features and for those who want the best rt ultra experience but 7900xtx overall

If you tuned the the 4070 Ti to have the same power draw and gpu temp. I think it would win every time. Then you can look into the 4080 which is only 100 to 200 dollars more than the 7900 XTX. Then tune that and kick the shit out if...
I don't think it would win, but it could be close to XTX performance in non RT. If you are talking about RT side, yes, probably it will perform better in all games. In current times overclocking does not give such a big boost as it gave a decade ago. Also, don't forget that you can overclock XTX too. While 4070 Ti has 12gb vram, it is a bit questionable and probably will be outdated after few years and start bottlenecking on vram side. Speaking about 4080 vs XTX is more personal preference now since they are head-to-head in non RT performance and in EU, 4080 is a bit more expensive than XTX. We can already see amd 7000 series performing better with latest driver updates and thats why people are saying with AMD cards that they age like a fine wine. It was exactly like that with 6000, 5000 and even with 500 series. So I won't be surprised that after next 6 months XTX will be better performer in non RT titles than 4080. If RT is really needed for you, then yes, grab 4080 and you will be happy. If you are content creator, once again, grab 4080, BUT 7000 series now has AV1 encoding which is really good, but at the moment only youtube supports live streaming with such encoding. 16 vs 24gb vram - is nice to have more, i.e. escape from tarkov maxed out uses 22gb vram, so with 4080 you will have fps dips while XTX will do fine. Personally - rtx 40 series is a bit questionable and not worth unless you buy 4080 or 4090. I had rtx 3060 ti after launch, it was a good card, but currently on 1440p with higher textures you end up with full vram usage and getting dips.
The higher you push these nvidia cards(if you even could), you're gonna get blocked by those restricted bit bus'. It sounds nice in theory but everyone seems to reaaaaally be downplaying how *small* the bit bus' are on 40 series. Thats a way bigger limit to performance than PCIe 3 vs 4. the bus width is one of the biggest reasons (and VRAM count) that nvidia is as behind AMD as they are.
It's just impossible to recommend nvidia unless you've got tons of cash to blow for shits and giggles. Getting used last gens is worth a lot more, price to performance. And you won't be bottlenecked by your gpu itself.
@@K5Legion I can see where you are coming from. It is a new architecture and they significantly increased the L2 cache size by a little over 10 times (64MB). They use GDDR6X, which uses less bandwidth but sends more data.
Also, the 40 series have different core types. All doing something different. That is why they are better at ray tracing and ai generated task DLSS or DLAA.
