Rubinstein plays Chopin’s music probably the way Chopin himself played his own music. I heard Chopin’s for the first time when I was in boarding school in England.
There is a huge gap between this interpretation and...all the others ..here you can follow the Logic of the sound...you are taken along with the partition to Chopin world
You could be right. Horowitz by far the better pianist, and Rubinstein, often tormented and mocked by Horowitz (including in Horowitz's own home with company attending his private performances) admitted as much (Rubinstein very jealous of Horowitz technical skills), but I agree with you on Ballades 2-4 (Horowitz nailed #1 and the early rendering of #4 was 'close';-) in particular. Rubinstein is ridiculously under-appreciated today. I like your post!
This was always my favorite Chopin set of Rubinstein's, but its hard to choose. The Nocturnes and Mazurkas are magnificent, but maybe its the concentrated intensity of these works that makes them so irresistible. The DSD version of these is worth tracking down. DSD's seem to play on SONY Blu-rays among other players.
I like some of rubinsteins interpretations on most of the nocturnes, but i overall found the ballades awful. honestly it’s nothing compared to kyristian zimerman’s interpretation and performance
Might not seem as refined as zimermans but there’s a magic to Rubinstein ballades which can’t be explained rly in words. However my favorite rendition of the second ballade is by zimerman in his live recording so
God bless you. In my opinion the greatest interpreter of Chopin, and in high quality sound!
Ah! Chopin interpreted by Rubinstein. Heavenly. I especially love Ballade No. 1. Thank you for this.
Thank you for visiting this channel.. :)
How could a human being create the music which Chopin created???…..
@@zuhairbakdoud1360 It is truly one of God's gifts to the world.

Lol
Simply cant see what`s great about this guy. cold and aloof.
The word was born to get to this time, where a human genius composed this. All the reality existed for this scope.
Thanks for sharing this. What a great pianist was Rubistein!
What a gift he had! Thank you for sharing this. I'm in the process of learning Ballade #4.
God , good luck with that
Thank goodness this is public domain
Excellent
Beyond excellent.
in fact, sublime

Masterful remastering. Sounds as if it had just been recorded.
The poor health bring to him a lot melancholy, and give him, still the last string, to create his master peace, Holly maestro ‼️‼️
Zimmerman isn't even in the same universe.
steep steps
Unpopular opinion: opening of ballade 1 started too fast. I feel like it should be slower and more decrescendo. But that is just my taste

except, here there isn’t one winner
Chopin was a genius. The SCORE doesn’t change!
