ok i can try make it easier for you to understand inshaallah. the reason it is 'An English' rather than 'A English' because it is easier to say 'an English' than 'a English' . it rolls easier on your tongue and speech, likewise it is not 'An cat' it is 'A cat' because 'an ca't is harder to say than 'a cat'. but the other understand as brother mohamed said is an is used before words that begin with vowels and a is used with words that begin with consonants. Vowels are A, E, I, O, U. Consonants: B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, X, Z.. @@sasha2209
