Fabulous video! I took things apart and there was ice everywhere, including in the “ducting” that leads to the fridge. Melted it all. Fan doesn’t work, but quick question: how do you know if it’s the fan or perhaps a switch or sensor?

Thank you so much for your video. It was really well done! Would this fix the issue of a freezer fan that seems to be making a really loud humming noise while running and then quiets down in between cycles of the refrigerator operating?

Mine does that too. Temps are FINE in both top and bottom. Just a loud running Evap Fan. What was your outcome?

This is great... my model is a bit different, Yet, I've been a mechanic for 48 years. Although it is only 7 YO the bearing in the motor is shot. Also, There is supposed to be a drain for the evap. which doesn't work, hence the bottom of unit is filling w/ water under the crisper drawers. A pan on the top shelf catches water coming from a dome or vent in the top of the fridge and the problem works correctly. Is the access to the drain behind the evap. panel? HELP! Thanks again!

Hi @CaptEricS Mine has the same arrangement for drainage. I removed the 'pan' inside the top of the fridge and cleaned the drain at the back. Put it back in place and it drains just fine now. There are vids on YT on how to do it.

@@toddthreess9624 thank you I'll have to check that out. When I took it apart the evaporator was a solid block of ice. I put a hair dryer in it and closed the door. It's 10 times better, yet I still get a small amount of water which is unsanitary. I didn't see a pan in the back, I'll try again. Thank you 😊

this unit looks similar to my FFHT1513LW. I'm having issues with the lower section not stay at the right temperature. freezer is good and I feel airflow.
Could it be the food in the freezer is holding the cooling cycle off? I made sure I'm not blocking the vents with food but I'm guessing I need to put a couple of ice creme buckets of water in the lower section to keep it cool down there?

I pulled the fridge out and vacuumed the cat fur from the front and back and removed the cardboard back and blew it all out. Hopefully it helps. fan down there is free and works

How did you not warn that all those parts are sharp and will slice you up if not careful?
