i love that one of the most exemplary knife makers on this planet is a legitimate goofball. proof for all you can be great and be inherently silly. cheers kyle
I didn’t know you were in the show me state. Me too brother. Love your work! Salute.
selfless man.THANK YOU
I needs that sand paper holder! It is so over engineered I love it.
Love seeing your knives brother. God bless
Hey Kyle I love the work you do, anyhow I was wondering if you can make some works that are japanese inspired. It would be pretty cool to see the quality of work and style you do on something more far east.
Okay, that sandpaper holder is neat and would certainly come in handy!
Awesome suggestions! Thanks!
That is soooouch the best video idea of all time guys!!! That's just freaking awesome.
Thanks Kyle! This was a great video.
I love the new background. It looks awesome.
Nice list- makes me want to become a knife maker and buy it all.
Truely interesting, nice video 👍.
What a cool video idea!!! I had no idea Kyle‘s roots were in Missouri ! Sincerely a fellow Missourian 🫡
I envied that sanding block from the first time I saw it 😂 it's a shame that i can't find it here in Italy or even Europe
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Disculpe señor que clase de pavonado es el que realiza en sus guardas
I use mitutoyo dial calipers. In metric of course, like a civilised human.
When it comes to precision tools, I trust japenese
Hey Kyle! The flexible light you mention; did it come with a bulb when you got it?
I ordered one and even though it's advertised as an LED light with a specified brightness and everything it turns out there's No bulb included.
In regards to shocks when grinding...Well, it will sound kinda silly but I got this advice from a guy who literally has the patient on the slip joint for 3-M grinding belt joint last week in a class on making really fancy punches, hot use chisels, and drifts...try setting your grinder up east to west. i just checked mine and realized i dont get a lot of shocks when I have it set up east-west but do when I have it magnetic north-south.
where did u find the lights ?
What is that surface plate you're using the height gauge on? Is that an actual surface plate or is it a random scrap of granite from a counter top or something?
i really liked that knife vise until i went to their website and saw the price…WOWSA!!! 😮😮😮
I'm going to try to make the knife vice
I got an idea, you could reverse etch makers mark for better visibikity. After you etch your makers mark you could fill the letters with nail polish and fe-cl etch the whole blade
Im sending this video to my wife!!!
I need that dental burr. My birthday is tomorrow!!!!!!
Happy Birthday!!!
@@KyleRoyerKnives thank you so much!
🤔How does the height gauge work with fully tapered blades?
I have seen him super glue shims and it worked well.
Scribing on that axis for a centerline is usually done pre grinding. I am trying to think of a time when you would need to do this? I guess if you forged in the bevels and a distal taper?
When you're approaching the level of quality and accuracy of the Royer family knives I am pretty sure nothing is rough. Even their forged billets are all surfaced to be flat square and parallel.
@@TheRedshirt yes its easyer to forge in Bevels and all the kinds of tapering in then to grind them in especially when you are like me and have a higher end Budget grinder. However with Patter and mosaic damascus if you dont want to distort the pattern you do have to do more grinding.
I could go for a height gauge myself.
Who did you learn from?
+++++++++++++++++++++
Knifemakers can only be found in Japan. Well I guess a few could be in Germany. But there are ZERO in the US!
Merry Christmas my friend.
Dad
