@@samanthatruong8390 I understand because I've been there, done that. But I think it is important to have a local fellowship, and come to church, and you can pray to God to lead you into another church if there is one close by where you live. I was away from church for 6 years and it was very bad for me. When I was away from church for so long, I did something very bad that I, due to the darkness of being absent from God's fellowship, believed was okay. I cut the connection with my mother completely, and it was disastrous for me in the end. If I had attended church during that time, the devil would not have been able to get me to do such a crazy thing, because God was desperate in trying to reach me so that I would take up contact with my mother again, but since I stayed away from all Christians, how could He do that? Church is protective. I warn people today because of my own experiences. Please don't stay away from church. Church has a protective function in our lives as it s God's primary tool to take care of us, and lead us out of thoughts ideas and actions we may have accepted. God uses the church, the members, the pastor etc. to address and help you if you are drifting. Church is like a boat. You must be on it. Don't float around in the sea. Social media is good for receiving teaching etc, but social media pastor does not talk to you, and there are no people who does so or knows you. Social media is a one way communication. In church, it is much easier for God to arrest wrong ideas in your head and guide you. God cannot easily do that to the same extent as in a real church. As a father cares for His children go to school so even more God desires for us to belong to a church. God is worrying as a distraught mother when His children stop going to church. God wants you to go to church because He loves you.

After three years of trying to be of service in a Church of Christ, I left. Volunteered time and again to help as I was able. Time and again was told "We've got this." Always felt like I was on the outside looking in. I'll never go back to another CoC. I refuse to be just a spectator. I refuse just to be an ATM.
I Love it! Hebrews 10:25 says, “Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is.” We not only need to be present but properly assembled to see purpose fulfilled in the local church. Awesome stuff! 🔥
As a person who grew out of organized religion, and adopted the "search for truth, not stupid fairy tales" mentality, i can tell you that after 7 years of critical cold thinking and looking at churchgoers as delusional weak cultist sheep, I have never been so depressed and in such a dark place in my life.. I am learning that I dont care if they are wrong and we are right.. I discovered that id rather be wrong and happy than be right and miserable.
Im going back to church starting this weekend. It might be fairytales or it might not.. but the one thing I do know is that almost everybody goes to church with an open heart and with good thoughts in their mind and THAT Im sure is what creates a greater mind of spirit, love and harmony which rubs off on every single body inside the building... So, call it what you will.. I am going back to have that rub on me again, if nothing else.

The truth is we are not smart enough to run our own lives, but by His spirit we can become smart enough to realize it. God bless you and the church family Jesus plants you among, bro!

All the churches around me closed theirs doors during the pandemic & as a new believer, not sure where I could have gone for fellowship. All the pastors did online services but once they were "allowed" to re-open, they all say you need to go to church, but are unable to explain why they closed their doors in the first place. Many used Romans 13, many said they closed out of love so not to get people sick etc. It seems to me they feared man, not God, they feared an invisible virus, not the invisible God. I desire fellowship with believers, but find it hard to go to a church that fears persecution from man.

Just because people aren't practicing the truth or living what is truth doesn't mean the truth isn't truth.
We obviously fail to embody what God intended church to be. But that doesn't change what he said it is. God is perfect in all his ways, in all that he says, in all that he does.

I need a church family. But after 40+ years of searching for one, too often I find out they don't need me. "Can the eye say to the hand I have no need of you?" Apparently so. Too many local churches can't get out of their own way.
You're right they need to get out of their own way.. perhaps you need to find a small group. You won't connect with everyone in the church. Same with me no church for YEARS.
But God needs you in church. You go to church for His sake. And often we are used by God in ways we do not see. But the main point is: God needs you to be where He wants you to be. Go to church for God. It is His body. And do it for yourself also, because it is good for you. And live in expectation. You never know what God has in store for you. The worst thing you can do is to quit on church. Please never do that. Focus on your relationship to Jesus and go to church for His sake. You also need eucharist.

They will attend if the Love of Christ amongst members is present & if the leadership is not manipulative. Ppl don't need to tolerate the hypocrisy & leadership who force things on you & keep lording their authority over you. You can only be a part of a spiritual family who don't judge gossip condemn & correct in love otherwise you typically find only a few members you can connect with.
Singles can easily find themselves 'outside' of mid-week fellowship gatherings in private homes. But it does nt have to mean that we give up on church, because we come to church because of Jesus. And the solitude life God has granted us He also give strength and grace to live. It is not easy to be single. And the church rarely is able to replace a real family; however, we do belong to the spiritual fellowship as we are members of one another. This is God's design and will. It is Jesus who invites you to come to His house. Therefore you must come.

My experience. Having a church family is no different than having my deadbeat ex-husband. Take take take.
I'm still looking for the purpose driven church...12 yrs later; still haven't found it...still searching though.

@@petershirleeoconnor5659 Never search within, from the heart comes all sort of evil. Search in the bible. No church is perfect but there are a lot of good churches out there, if you can't find one, it's not the church it, it's you. periodt.
@@GeeRodd There are so many false teachers due to seminaries teaching some ism rather than God's Truth. When you strictly read the bible the isms fall apart. All isms have truth peppered in ,it's what they leave out that is dangerous.
So how many of those 120M go to church so they can feel good about being a christian and dont actually walk with Jesus? How many are there for the obvious attractions that have nothing to do with your walk with Jesus?

Josh How long have you been going to church? I used to feel anxious but anxiety is not a bad thing. It’s just there and the more you embrace into it the more it goes away.

Josh I pray that you’ll learn to look over the heads of the crowds around you and see the cross of Christ on the horizon. What church family
Typically, local churches are more of a mutual admiration society than they are a family. If you ain't "in," you ain't in.
Upon what, will He build His Church? Some say Peter's testimony, others, Peter himself. But I like to embrace a more optimistic interpretation...... I think Jesus is saying that it's NOT upon what has been revealed by flesh & blood.... Rather, by what is REVEALED BY JESUS' FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN.... Just like Jesus said. That His Church is built upon revelation from God. Just like Jesus did it. By SAYING what we HEAR Daddy SAYING & DOING what we SEE Daddy DOING. Amen
Read the Bible daily to fall in love with Jesus Christ and to know how to follow Him. Start with the book of John as it contains great teachings spoken by Jesus. The Scriptures are like a woven tapestry, as you continue reading you will discover a beautiful pattern that in the end you will see the most beautiful image of Jesus Christ's saving message of hope, love and eternal life with Him.
Test everything being taught by man against His Word to see if it is true. Always aligning yourself with God's teachings. Men are fallible.
God's purpose is for you to love Him above all else, and to love others as yourself.
God is in control and will use you as He wills.
Be wise as serpents and gentle as doves.
God is building His church in heaven, one precious soul at a time as they put their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, whether or not they are in an earthly church, but it is important to fellowship with believers regularly.
You are free to have home church/fellowship with anyone desiring to do so regularly. An earthly church is not essential, the disciples all met in homes together. Read His Word daily, prayerfully, repent when needed. Love one another as you love yourself, keep unity as one heart and mind in Christ. Love God above all else and worship Him daily.
Trust God with all of your worries and cares, only He can deliver you and bring you spiritual comfort. Others can lend support bringing a different source of social comfort, touching the heart and that's good.
Difficult times are for our growth in character, faith and love toward God and others.
The Body of Christ is accomplished by having one mind, the mind of Christ. Seeking Him with all of our heart, mind and soul prayerfully listening to and reading His Word, all of, contemplating upon it daily. This is a wonderful lifelong adventure of discovery.
Jesus' Words are as seeds sewn in hearts, if our heart's soil is good, we will grow into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Though perfection is unattainable, disciples are being perfected daily for His glory and honor and our joy and comfort.
God is loving.
For God So Loved the World
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Joh 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Joh 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Our faith and love is proven by our desire to follow His ways, this is not to be confused with being saved by works. Works are a by product of our love for God.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Joh 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
Joh 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Some churches are not teaching the full counsel taught by Jesus' Word. The Bible teaches a full counsel for our edification, but unfortunately some teachers only teach portions as some teachings may offend some cultures. Jesus said to teach His commandments, and so as disciples of Christ, we must daily read and study the Scriptures prayerfully to share them as they are taught.
I encourage everyone to read God's purpose and plan for you in His Word, and trust the Holy Spirit to drive you. God will not mislead you. Put your trust and faith in God.
God deserves our devotion as our Creator, He desires to be first in one's life as Jesus lived and died for us we are to do the same for Him, that's selfless Love. He rewards faithful disciples.
Not Peace, but a Sword
Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Mat 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Teachers of Jesus Christ are told to teach God's Word, making disciples of Christ to follow His commandments...God gives the increase.

You will grow leaps and bounds by committing yourself to reading prayerfully and trusting in the Holy Spirit to guide you daily.

The Church is the reason God created the Universe?? He thought of us before the universe ?? Come on......you dont surely believe that ??.... the Church is a place where people come together to learn about the teaching of Jesus...... I am trying so hard to become a follower of Jesus but finding it hard to find a church that reads the bible in an objective contemporary way... I wish I could follow Rick Warren but his teachings are too closed and not objective ..one must learn to question what is written to find the truth.. ..my search continues...I know Jesus will find me one day..
Why not start by reading the gospels?? The Gospels are Marthew, Mark, Luke and John. They will introduce you to Jesus. Afterwards, read the book of Acts. Pray to Father God and ask Him to direct you to a Bible based church.
Study the word for yourself in order not to be deceived & manipulated. Test everything. Every church has their own theories & understanding.
