My neighbor has a longan tree that drapes fruit into my yard. This past season I picked some and soaked the seeds for about a week. I now have 9 longan seedlings!
Hi i want to ask you about my grand nain bananas . I have 2 in the ground getting 8hrs sun in cerritos zone 10b . The leaves have started to turn yellow . So I backed off on the watering . They were planted in April . Does this happen because of the fall season . Its been 45° on the coldest nights but next week i see 41° on the forecast . Second can i cover them up those extremely cold nights ?
Although I do not have any Nam Gran varieties, all of my banana plants do not exhibit the symptoms you described. I do not protect any of my banana plants. They may get some frost damage, but all of mine have always bounced back.
My area has already reached a low of 31° and hovered around the low 30°’s for several weeks. My banana has signs of frost stress, but remains intact overall.
If you come down to Mimosa nursery in Los Angeles or Anaheim i would like to show you the most spectacular Fuerte avocado tree that is tall , wide and loaded with my guess 3,000 avacados , from estimates of other yt videos . In the city of Bellflower one mile off the 605 fwy
@@TropicalCentralValley yeah, I killed a jackfruit sapling I bought from my local nursery 2 years ago because I forgot to bring it in when it got too cold. Then I forgot to water it. I'm trying to keep the plants outside this winter and keep them in a heat sink area of my yard. So far, so good. There is a little burn on some of the leaves from the coolder nights. I was also thinking of putting a clear plastic bin over them on the colder nights.
What a beautiful place to have been able to visit and also see those wonderful fruits thrive in their natural habitats 🤩
Adding to your comments, also an extremely cheap place to visit.

That’s wonderful. Once planted, it’s just a matter of time before they produce delicious fruits.
Gorgeous thanks for sharing
You’re very welcome.

That’s awesome. Thanks for the tips.
Amazing place!!
The humidity there is not as high as in Thailand right?
Both are very comparable. The humidity here has been around 80%.
I also sprouted jackfruit from a fruit I bought in Socal. I've got 6 seedlings! Let's see if they make it through the winter...
Jackfruit trees, particularly seedlings are a bit frost sensitive. If able to, I’d try to keep the seedlings above 40° during extreme cold.
