Hey Jas, since it is spring you will start to bloom as you have noticed when you started becoming hairy. Once at full bloom(when you have a flower on your head) you will move faster, attract bees, and starve faster. Also you will look pretty. As a voice in your head I advise you to make regular farming things and planting regular seeds. It's a random chance to grow the new stuff like garlic, peppers, and potatoes. That's how you get it without mods or spawning them in. After that the bird can help you keep growing more.
