Yet despite his obvious youth he could make you believe he was a nearly immortal alien who was over 1000 years old.
Viserys ages like milk. Corlys, Rhaenys, Criston, and especially Daemon age like fine wine. So glad to see you do HotD. If you went back and finished GoT, I'd watch that too. The High Sparrow stuff doesn't dominate the rest of the series.

Episodes 1-8 are a prologue to the main story being told by this particular series. Just fyi because the time jumps can be a bit jarring when the episodes they happen in start. At the end of the prologue the final main cast will be set for the remainder of the series.
My brother's gf and I conspired to get my brother to watch GOT just so that he'd be willing to watch this show with us. House of the Dragons is the adaptation I've been waiting for as a book fan.
My favourite chracter in game of thrones were Jon Snow but also Petyr Baelish. I admired Jon's honour and desire to do the right thing but not as blindly as Ned. And Petyr's tactics and schemes were just a marvel to watch. You gotta admire someone with a brain like that.

The second season was based on the second book, which had a totally different title, but to keep from confusing people and spending more marketing money to promote a series with a different name, they kept GOT as the title. After so many books, Martin decided to write another series that took place long before Game of Thrones, starting with the House of the Dragon. He wrote short stories in that world, too, which I hope are incorporated into House of the Dragon (but I doubt it). You would think the writers would grab anything and everything to slap into the show to avoid real work. :)
