  • The Lagoon 630 offers the kind of deck space that you can only get on a motor-catamaran. MBY editor Hugo Andreae talks us through this model, as seen at the 2014 Cannes Boat Show. Read the show report in the December 2014 issue of the magazine.

It doesn't look like there is a lot of extra space over a Lagoon 620 sailing catamaran (in fact it looks incredibly similar to the 620), so I'm not seeing any advantage to buying the limited range motor-catamaran over a sailing version. Is there more space and it just wasn't captured well in the video?

It is pretty much the same size....so not sure how you were expecting it to be so much larger. with up to 5000L of fuel and low fuel consumption the rage will be huge. do the Math...

The M/Y 630 IS the 620 S/Y, with an extra foot added to increase buoyancy due to the extra weight of the larger engines. Even with upgraded 300 hp engines (260 is standard), she has a range of almost 5000 nm, at 6.5 knots, on 1280 gallons of fuel. If that sounds expensive...how much do your sails cost?
