Susan Taylor: We Must Move Our People ‘Toward Wellness & Economic Independence’

Susan Taylor, founder of National Cares Mentoring Movement and former editor-in-chief of Essence magazine addresses the attendees at The National CARES Mentoring Movement Third Annual ‘For the Love of Our Children’ Gala hosted by Tamron Hall, and Michael Eric Dyson.
During her remarks, Taylor said, "Our work is consciousness shifting … it teaches critical thinking, instills racial pride and self confidence; a passion for learning; a devotion to wellness in body, in mind, spirit and community."
She added, "The most important work of all is creating mutuality - we have to learn how to love one another again, trust one another, create strategic alliances to move ourselves and our struggling people toward wellness and economic independence - that’s the goal."
