Your review was entertaining and fairly informative. I bought the Jensen SCR-68C three weeks ago at Target for $15. Neither Sony ("Walkman") or other big-name companies make cassette players any more, and there's really no high-quality brand-new players on the market. Players like this don't have powerful motors, so at times you'll hear excessive "wow" and "flutter". Older tape that's been sitting unplayed for years? Be sure to fast-forward and rewind the entire cassette to loosen the tape and internal mechanism. As for buying used, most used players will have age-related and wear-and-tear related problems like being off-speed, out of alignment, or sound shorting out during playback. If you don't want to spend time repairing an "oldie but goodie", this Jensen is brand new, inexpensive and works adequately. IF you buy one, though, be sure to test your Jensen player ASAP. Stores have very short return policies on electronics. The product warranty from Spectra (Jensen) is 30 days for parts & labor. After 30 days, Spectra warranties parts only for 60 days but you must pay for shipping.
@@Nadav3.0 My unit still works, I tested it last week. I have other Walkman units purchased used since then, some work properly and sound better, others partially work or have stopped working.
@@peacearchwa5103 I’m considering not purchasing a Walkman because all of them are used and it’d be challenging to find a really high quality one that doesn’t need repair. I am only interested in listening to some music and talks as a small hobby. I think I will get the Jensen as of now, and if it’s not enough I’ll get a old timer Walkman
Those were the days that I had a stack of old R&B mix songs and I had to press record on the cassette and let it record songs. Thank you for reviewing this.. think I'll order myself a cassette player
I felt the same way. He could have used very short ten-second clips to avoid the copyright police, and particularly if he had a couple of tapes of really out-of-date music like Lawrence Welk polka music, just to demonstrate the machine.
My mother bought me one of these to aid my love of cassettes (yeah, still a kid who listens to tapes in 2018...) and it was horrible! The cover fell off, and no amount of batteries will get the tapes to work, but the radio is fine -_-
I got one for Xmas this year... COMPLETE GARBAGE. Even at full battery or plugged in through 3v A/C this piece of crap did not play at speed... the sound quality was shyte, and I couldn't even get a decent radio signal. This is NOT a "cassette player" because it was not able to play cassettes.... In other words, its garbage like this and the people who foist on us that is really really bad for the world. Cheap plastic crap that doesn't even work. THANKS to EVERYONE at Jensen. Bites a little harder that the box says that Jensen is a "Green" company. Bull. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE PRODUCT. I'm getting my money back.
I had an issue where the tape head didn't apply enough force to the tape itself therefore making it sound high pitched. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
Elijah Hernandez This product seems to have a lot of quality control issues. Maybe you could try to get a refund on it and get another one and see if it works.
Players chewing up tapes is incredibly rare. If it even happens. I've had tapes accidentally spill out of the cartridge and into the machine, but that's usually an issue with the tape. Not the machine. And whenever that happened it never got eaten or chewed.
Looks like a BaseTech/RenkForce/(insert_name_here) KW-118C clone with a different case design. Everything else seems to be the same. It's a cheap plastic crap with plastic transport, nowhere near the Sony Walkman quality.
This Tape Player/Recorder Has The Cheap Mono Playback Record Head, Not To Mention it Uses, Utelizes A Permanent Erase Magnet, Which Causes A Very Annoying Thunder-Like Sound! I Say, Ever Record Cassettes When You See That Blue Magnet. Always Record Music Using An Actual AC Bias Erase Head and Stereo AC Bias Record/Playback Head!
The sound quality is a little funky at times though, and I think it would eat cassettes up after a while. It did only cost $15. It's not like it's a $200 dollar Sony Walkman or anything, but it gets the job done, and so far none of my cassettes have been eaten by it so I would say that it's a pretty good choice!
I actually got one of these for christmas. It worked well for the first few hours I used it, but then it started playing tapes at a high pitch. I've tried to fix it, but nothing is permanent. When I hold the button down, it plays at the right pitch again. Can somebody please tell me how to fix this?
Garbage machine, even if you just wanted a disposable portable stereo, there's better options for that price, this is a modern garbage machine, buy a late 90s disposable Sanyo instead, (they will actually have a REWIND)

Did you seriously just review a cassette player without providing captured line out audio? Well, that was a wasted otherwise fine review...
PuffyRainbowCloud Someone's a snob.
Bruh same

Just record the free-music (not copyright included) to cassette so we can listen from tape audio
welcome to your tape
Haha! So many people have been finding this video since that show came out!
Could hook a portable speaker to work with a Aux cord to it
Yeah, I actually did that later on.
cool product! I was wanting to get into cassettes and this like a good option for a beginner since it is so affordable
These new cassette players aren't even good that's why I buy old tape players and the quality is much better
just got mine for 13 bucks to replace my old worn out walkman!
Your Dissapointed Daddy Awesome man! Thanks for subscribing!
Lol.... I'm now convinced to buy it. I saw these laying around in target hahaha
josh cha Awesome! I’ve also been noticing them at Target a lot.
This review was kinda funny
In a funny "ha ha" way not funny suspicious.
Haha, yeah
The Jensen SCR-68C is made by Kar Wi Electronics Development, Ltd and also known as the Akiwa KW-118C.

Stefan Ionut Marius It can't be.
As soon as he said "What ever that means" referring to a feature the casette player had, i new this review was not great.
I got a rca cassette player.
Its great
I bought one and I can't figure out how to rewind the tapes as it has no rewind button
Put the tape in backwards and fast forward 😎
@@brigademember7363 thank you!
I need one with a speaker. Wonder if Jensen makes a quality recorder. I'd like to see someone demo that.
How long do the batteries last?? Did the player chew any tapes?? Thanks!

Is it supposed to sound crystal clear HD when you listen to cassettes or just regular old style cassette? Idk if that makes sense
Does the radio work well?
Does the audio quality sound really great

It’s probably not the tape it’s probably the bad quality earbuds and the player.( the player isn’t the worst but it isn’t the best)
