I wish the Mercedes Benz Citaro could come to the US too. The MTA did test one in 2008, but they have not purchased any. And as for low floor buses, like in Europe, they have been available in the US since the early 1990s. However, the MTA objected to low floor buses until 1999, because they thought high floor buses were more reliable and easier to maintain (which are important in an operating environment as harsh as NYC)

Sadly I don't see this happening. It is unlikely that any 1996 RTS will be preserved at this point, but even if one is, it would most likely be 8756
