Sunny King 2024

This was my first time racing Sunny King Criterium. Course was pretty challenging with an up hill drag at the finishing stretch. Pavement was okay, back stretch was a little bumpy and corners 3 and 4 can be a little dicey. There were 110+ starters and I think only 64 finished. We had 6 guys in this race, unfortunately 3 of them got caught in the early crash and they were put back in the back of the field of the race which could end your race pretty fast. This course could be pretty challenging if you start at the back of the field, I personally struggled at the back of the race trying to move up especially that rubber band effect was putting me on my limit. At some point I got near the front and tried to help kyle at the last few laps of the race but I could've done better helping my teammates. These mistakes are bound to happen and it will lead us to success. Kyle Tiesler ended up taking 3rd in the field sprint (there is a 4 man breakaway) and puts him on 7th overall and I was able to crack my first top 20 on this level of Crit Racing.
