- As promised here is my how to for making your own sulphur matches.
Its a really simple and easy process and is pretty cheap to do yourself.
A word of warning make sure you can control a low temperature to stop any flashing over and always do this in a well ventilated area.
Personally I think I would classify that as some sort of kindling or lighting stick, similar to the rope dipped in paraffin wax trick. Outstanding idea and seems very useful in starting a fire a lot easier, but not a stand alone item like an actual match would be. Definitely has a place in my fire starter kit, anything to make the process easier is welcome. Thanks for the idea...
Excellent stove hack!
Polystyrene holder to dry. Hey great tip. Goid thinking brother. Nice video

What watch is that?
If you have to have a fire or hot coal to light it, what good is it?
When they were first used sulphur matches took the ember that was commonly used within a tinder bundle and turned it into a useable flame.
It wasn’t a new way of making fire but an improvement on those already in use.
The matches created a quick and easy to apply flame like an instant taper.
They were perfect for use indoors for lighting candles and lamps as well as fires.
For the outdoorsman it meant having an, almost, instant source of flame that could be applied to a pre-laid fire and was essentially a convenience.
Stop talking and start making them
