Wish I had found that out sooner. From another source when looking something up, I discovered that for the monsters that Split, you want a couple of Knights, both equipped with Ancient Sword(Yes, Ancient Sword) and Defender Sword. That will keep those monsters that Split upon being attacked from Splitting at all.

On my first playthrough I was about to lose it! 😅 Then I learned that Dark Knights did prevent them to split.
