I think both examples are good. Jesus being the good Shepard isn't trying to hurt us, but for us to be healthy and whole we must go through uncomfortable periods, and He is making us lay in an uncomfortable position in a comfortable place to help. Other times because we are safe in Him we are able to lie down in the pasture. This just really opened my eyes thank you for the demonstration.
@@Adnancorner We are all like sheep. We all have gone astray in ways that cause damage to us. I choose to follow Jesus a Shepard who loves His sheep fully and would do anything to reach them. Including leaving 99 sheep for a single lost sheep.

loveeeee this demonstration and explanation. I am so in love with Jesus being my shepherd! Wow we are so blessed. And you are so blessed to have such a rewarding job, learning from the best. Thanks
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. 3 He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalms 23:1, NASB)
Actually you were right the first time. Because the verse literally means to force the sheep to lie down, it is not supposed to be comfortable it's supposed to be helpful.
It's the reason why sheep often squirm and kick their legs trying to get away while being sheared, it's because sheep do not like being in a position where their legs and hoofs are off the ground and sticking out into the air, it's very uncomfortable for them. Also, it's dangerous for their health for them to be on their backs with their hoofs sticking completely upwards for too long. Fortunately, the shearing never takes long enough to where the sheep's health is in danger. They'd have to be in that position for hours for them to have a problem, and the shearing a sheep usually only takes about 5-10 minutes tops. But it's happened before when a sheep is on its own in a pasture when they've fallen over and become stuck on their backs, and they had to be saved. But shearing has many health benefits for the sheep, they're much less likely to get infections with all that wool shaved off, it keeps them cooler and more comfortable, and it makes the sheep easier to move, run, and keep its balance
Sheep don't like being held in a position where their legs and hooves are off the ground, sticking out into the air, such as the "sitting" position that the guy had the sheep in, and it's the position they're held in while being sheared or getting hooves trimmed. But they don't like it, it is an unnatural position for them. That also explains why they kick and squirm while getting sheared. When sheep are sitting or lying on the ground on their own, their legs and hooves are also on the ground. They, on their own, either lay down with their stomachs along the ground and their legs and hooves tucked under them, or lay on their side where their legs and hooves are laying along the ground in front of them. Sheep feel unnatural and uncomfortable when in any position where their legs and hooves are off the ground
Hi Stian, beautiful video. I have used a small part of your video in my music video: Psalm 23; The Lord is My Shepherd to illustrate the sheep lying in green pastures. I hope it is ok with you.

Amén. Sometimes he has to make us like down, other times he gently leads us to lie down and rest
Thank you for clarifying this! 😊
I love this thanks for sharing
My sheep lay down in a green pasture when they’re content. When the grass is full and the weather is nice and no predators are in sight
Thank you!
