Perhaps the "darkness" that ate knight Portunes is actually Oberon doing, cause now we know that the fairies of this land wont die entirely and their bodies will become one with the land, thus Oberon probably went right after the Portunes for either revenge/or his special shenanigans. In midsummernights dream puck works for oberon so he would know his name to use and oberon is a french myth while puck a english one. He might be oberon but my money is on him actually being puck. Puck was also has a welsh form pwca. And is generally a small transforming demon like trickster. Sometimes robin goodfellow was just an analogy for the devil.

He's doesn't seem to be a beast (yet?), but something more similar to Tiamat? Morgan herself never got rid of the painting or even touched Londinium ruins for some reason...we'll certainly see a bit more of it in the story.
