Can we have a room tour pls? There are so many things to admire. I am much older than you. Just hit 40. But I love your content. I have been in a reading slump because of several health issues. Every time I listen to your calm voice I feel a bit better. Imagine myself living a fuller life because of your videos. Thanks.
I am very happy that you can find comfort in watching my videos, despite the age difference. We are all lovers of literature, art, and pretty things over here :) I also have health issues I struggle with that unfortunately get in the way of my day to day life, so I very much understand. Wishing you the best and make sure to take care of yourself always ❤️
So glad I stumbled on this video😌 this is exactly my vibe - thrifted everything, autumnal colors, repurposing and cleansing ✨ thank you for this wonderful content! Please keep posting
I just finished the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I was soooo excited to have noticed it out of your stack LOL that novel is soooooo amazing I can’t even put it into words atm. I don’t usually end up finishing the books that I start so this one hits sooo much harder
i am so drawn to people who like literature, despite having lost my love for it - so you gained a new subscriber! i have heard so much about toni morrison and don't know where to start (because im british tbh) loved all the clothes and decor you found, they are so beautiful. et tu es si si si belle
Girl you’re gonna scare her away from reading😭 do NOT start with the bluest eye it’s extremely heavy, especially considering you wanna get back into literature. When I decided to take reading seriously, Sula was one of the first books I picked up and I believe it was the perfect choice for me. It was so so beautiful and there is so much nuance and emotion to it. It’s an amazing encapsulation of the transition from girlhood to womanhood and what it means to challenge the norms and structure of a sexist society vs. falling in line, as a Black woman. I think it’s perfect for beginners, at least it was for me when I was starting to rlly read. But the bluest eye is equally amazing, it’s just a lot to digest and has a lot of very triggering material. I hope this helps and I’m so so glad you’ve found my channel :) love having beautiful and intelligent Black women apart of this community 💌
@@AnaisLaure hahaha thank you for your recommendation. that is suchh a beautiful description i am SAT. as soon as i find a copy I'll let you know how its going. im happy i found your channel, thank you again!
I love you aura so much and I feel this video just gave me that jumpt to start reading again. I write poetry but the thing is when you don't read (and just spend hours on your phone) ideas start to run out so i try to make a habit to read before bed atleast. I was looking for new content creators who has this cozy, spirtual, literary(?) vibe to them and I think I just found the one. Thank you dearly
Ahhh I’m so glad you found me, literally that is all I want to do, just push ppl to create and find themselves within that creativity because literature (and art in general) is where we rlly blossom as humans. That makes me so happy :)
@@AnaisLaure It would be nice to see video from you about general media you cosume (including books). If that's not really your thing I get it but if you like the idea and post it I'll be hooked!

Love your content! Need the hand held mirror - very camp. I’ve just started getting back into reading and writing. I realized I don’t need official academic spaces to validate my love and desire to be a writer.
Your videos were recently recommended to me and I'm so happy they were I love your videos really they're so relaxing and calming I really like putting your videos on even just in the background I like hearing what you think about books and the books you recommend seem really interesting I've been trying to read more lately and have been trying to look for more good and interesting books to read much love to you💗✨
Girl I read The Bluest I for university and got OBSSESED it’s simply amazing 💌 If you like Winterson I would recommend you to read Oranges are the Only Fruit and Art and Lies (the latter is also a bit silly sometimes but sooo worth it)
Oranges are the Only Fruit is a book I read in one of my old English lit class in college and it was really amazinggggg, I’ve been wary about Written on the Body for that very reason lol
Loved your video, I agree about thrifting over fast fashion. Though I will be honest it started because I couldn’t afford the clothes I wanted anymore and then it became my style. Now I shop second hand first before buying new. I love that you have old books, I call my vintage books my rescues, because often no one buys them and it makes me sad. My dream is to have a room dedicated to books with enough room for every rescue book I find. Looking forward to reading your writing, I invite you to do the same, links are in my bio (no pressure).
Lovely video and so chill. Just found your channel and enjoying your bookish and thrifty musings! That jewelry box is gorgeous! I am very curious about Masks now!
Interesting list of books, thank you! I have already written to you before that I think you are a very sincere, honest and kind person. Now I want to add that you have a very good sense of style. I would also like to write to you about the books I have already read and even recommend new Ukrainian authors, but... But, to be honest, I really want to share what happened in our city of Sumy last week. Last Sunday evening, the Russian occupiers hit a residential area with a ballistic missile. 12 civilians were killed, including 2 children. 89 people were injured, including 11 children. Children's fingers were torn off, some had their arms torn off. On Friday morning, the Russian army attacked residential buildings with Shahed-type drones loaded with shrapnel. As a result, two civilians were killed and 12 were injured. I understand that you do not need this, but still I think that people should know what is happening practically in Europe in the 21st century.
No, I do need this. You’re very correct, it’s important for people to know about these things that are happening around the world, and not just turn a blind eye to it. I try my best to be aware and educated on what’s going on, but sometimes I find myself needing to take breaks from it all for my own mental health. Regardless, thank you so much for sharing this information. It is so valuable and I am so sorry that you and your country are still going through this genocide. It’s very sobering to constantly see that the effects of imperialism and colonization persist today and it makes me very pessimistic about the liberation of the oppressed worldwide, though I continue to do what I can. It’s truly devastating, but there is and will forever be space to talk about these things on my platform. Amplifying and listening to the voices of minorities and oppressed groups is always priority. Thank you for your compliments, they mean a lot to me. It brings me a lot of peace to know that amidst these consistent acts of genocide, you can find a moment of relaxation and enjoyment by watching my videos. Also, please feel free to recommend the Ukrainian authors you have read. My ears are always open for some good foreign and diverse book recs. Please take care 🩷
@@AnaisLaure By the way, there is a very interesting book about colonialism in literature by Eva Thompson "The Troubadours of the Empire. Russian Literature and Colonialism". The author is our contemporary, an American literary critic, a Slavic researcher of Polish origin, a teacher at Rice University. Among modern women authors, I would also recommend the books of essays by Oksana Zabuzhko: "Ukrainian Palimpsest", "The Longest Journey". Among fiction, I recommend Ivan Bagryany's books "The Tigers", "The Garden of Gethsemane", "A Man Running over the Abyss". The author is a witness of the Second World War and Stalinist repressions. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature for the book "Garden of Gethsemane". And, of course, you should read the poems of Taras Shevenka, a Ukrainian poet of the 19th century. In many respects, his poems turned out to be prophetic.

I hope you find solace and new ways to experience the world through reading 'Anam Cara.' I am in Ireland and met the author, John O'Donoghue, a few years before his untimely death in 2007.
@@AnaisLaure He was pleasant but reserved. From what I know, he was a complex person. At the time I met him, he was still a priest but in huge demand to speak, write more etc. as he became famous, especially in the US. Eventually, the pressure was too much and too invasive. By the end of his life, aged only 52, he wanted a quiet life with the woman he had fallen in love with, having left the priesthood. I remember I wanted to talk to him about the Akira Kurosawa film Dersu Uzala, which I knew he liked and which I like a lot, but he didn't say much in response to my question.
