i was surprised to find out that your channel has 4000 subscribers! I assumed I was just casually watching a viral youtuber. Congrats on 4000 and i'm so excited to use the course!! thank you for your writing advice !
Big idea #1: in the meanwhile, put a shim under the shelf to square it somewhat. Big idea #2: rescue a second cat if you can. Your channel will grow faster and, as importantly, that cat needs a home and your current roommate might enjoy help grooming behind his or her ears. Big idea #3: keep cranking these out. They always feel like a brief house call from a writerly friend, and that always boosts my morale. In addition to these tips on writing craft, maybe spend one episode (despite seeming self indulgent) to describe your own writing routine and tools used to capture your various stages of creativity and output.
Thoroughly enjoy such a natural wit combined with insightful writing advice that always shows that when your yourself genius flows Also, I feel you'd be a wicked actor and director in one of your own plots someday. Never really noticed the shelf, too busy wondering where the cat is going to eventually plot up.
That description of the mall just made my blood run cold. Fellow introverts unite!! (Thanks for getting Cat situated before beginning vid.) [PS. What's the dangly thing above the pickles? We can allllllmost see it.]
A course sounds good. I'm not a first time writer if a novel but love your advice and sometimes having things written and reading it helps it sink in) Like, your advice is probably good for all writers as it's helpful to refresh your memory and get extra advice that you might not know about, even if you've written a book before
Congrats on the subs, well deserved. After writing for 3 years and devouring numerous writing advice material I think you have nailed it. My routine is write for two hrs after work pour a conquac and ruminate over your latest video. I may have embellished a little. Does conquac come from a cask? Regardless will be checking out your courses and appreciate your bare bookshelf background. So refreshing.
Don't you dare fix that shelf. You of all people should appreciate suspense. In fact, make it so everything looks unstable. Then your viewers will keep coming back.
@@0o0eM Maybe he is an unreliable narrator, and the shelf is super stable, he's just teasing us with the potential danger to create a sense of conflict and urgency. Will the shelf finally collapse, will Carl be trapped under it or will his beloved fluffy kitty come to his rescue (probably at mealtime when no food has been placed in the bowl?) These questions, and many more will be answered in the next episode of... Shelf of DOOOOOOM!!!!!!
@@houddythequeen Oh yes, please! Unreliable narrators are the best kind 😀 But! I also like it when the main character looks like your classic good guy and then, halfway through the story, cracks begin to appear. Is he really so afraid of crowded parking lots or is there something darker preventing him from fixing the Shelf of Doom? And is it plain laziness or are the whispers in the walls correct and the Duncan family curse will make sure he would hit his thumb with a hammer?

Dudes like a younger, less wise Gandalf. But still so much more wiser than me.
What a legend!!
Congratulations, Carl! 🤩 You're doing awesome!!
Awesome about the new course, too! I bet folks will get plenty from your teaching ways. 😃
Congrats on 4k!
That opening about the shelf made me laugh.

Cars and crowded parking lots...scary, Indeed! (blows on shelf). It's leaning again, Carl.
Came for the cat, stayed for the writing advice.
Hope the course goes well.

Congratulations on 4,000 subscribers!
Thanks dude. After checking out 20+ writing advice channel I subscribed only to this channel and sometimes watch 1 other.
Really? Man, I regularly watch way too many youtube writing channels...
@@PaulRWorthington protip: instead you could write

But what if it crashes and breaks his shin or worse - hurts the cat? He should secretly secure it and keep coming with excuses

@@houddythequeen Please finish this novel. I must know what becomes of the cat!

The shelf is a metaphor for an unpublished novel 😮
Ok I’m technologically declined but what is a you tube description? Looking for links to the course
